    Pork belly

The flavor of the ramen here is very good. It's a cute small restaurant. I would say the pork belly is very thinly sliced and I normally ask for my meat to be cooked a little longer at most ramen spots. They were not able to really adjust the time cooked on the pork belly which was not good to me. Overall the ramen was good flavor. I just didn't care for the pork belly.

Big ramen fan, so been wanting to try this spot for awhile. Service was great, vibes were chill, and ramen was good. Can't complain about anything here, solid option if you're wanting a good bowl of ramen, just isn't my favorite in Charlotte. Would love to go back again!

Very solid Ramen meal. The pork belly was nice and tender, just enough spice as well. Wasn't overbearing, but you could definitely taste it. Will be back for sure!

4.5/5 Wow! I've heard of this place and how great it is and I finally got to try it and it lived up to the hype! Started off with three appetizers: Pork Belly Buns, Shrimp Tempura Buns and Gyoza. All three were simply incredible. Blew me away! Full of flavor. I went with their Kazoku Black ramen minus the mushrooms and it blew me away. A wonderful broth, tons of noodles, tender pork belly. Just all around a great dish!

The inside looks like an authentic ramen restaurant in Japan. I would say, though, that the portions are a little small. I realize that this may be yet another authentic feature as I have heard that meal portions in Japan are smaller than what you would find in the West. As far as taste, no complaints here. I got the Kazoku Red which is their spiciest ramen selection. The word Kazoku or かぞく means family in Japanese and it appears that this indeed may be a family run restaurant. Service was quick and efficient. However I still have to compare it to Sheng Ramen which seems to have bigger portions and the ramen noodles seem to be more authentic at Sheng. The noodles at Kazoku seemed to simply be very thin spaghetti - like vermicelli. You do pay more at Sheng though too. All in all, Kazoku is decent enough, but if I'm in the mood for ramen, there are other places I would choose first.

Great little ramen spot...very cutesee. Note they will not seat you until your whole party is there. The booths are only for larger parties of 4 or more. They have tables or bar for smaller parties. I went specifically for the waygu truffle ramen and it was fantastic and worth the 30.00 price tag. They were short staffed so the chef and hostess did double duty as a result there was a small wait to get serviced. I would definitely come back

Excellent all around! Great ramens! Extensive and varied menu! Sake and cocktails. If the place was bigger it could EASILY be a fancier and more expensive place WITHOUT changing the menu one bit I had the Wagyu meat ramen. The meat was EXCELLENT. The rest of the ramen was pretty simple to highlight the meat. The cocktails were awesome. Go for the Mule.

My mom LOVES this place!!! She loves the Kazoku Karaage and the Kazoku Black ramen. She always gets 2 orders of the Kazoku Karaage which is a 4 piece homemade Japanese fried chicken thigh, scallion, served with spicy mayo. We were informed that you can now get the Kazoku Black spicy so we ordered one of those and 2 of the regular one. The Kazoku Black is full of flavor with a heavy concentration on garlic. The spicy does not compromise the garlic flavor. It's delicious. Being a texture girl I really appreciate that the pork belly in their ramen always has a good meat to fat ratio. It melts in your mouth. Even though is a small operation they really pay attention to the details. In my opinion they have the best ramen in Charlotte. Customer service is top tier and the food is always amazing. Ramen Bar Kazoku 7828 Rea Rd Ste B Charlotte, NC 28277 (Review 36 in 2024 and 836 overall)

Delicious casual spot for ramen! Absolutely top-tier broth. I got the tonkotsu and was able to try my husband's garlic broth as well.

Always a staple whenever we come down this city of the city. Especially when the Ramen craving is an all time high. Every time we have come in we are greeted and seated instantly. Service is 10/10 and so is the ramen. The broth is hot and flavorful and always has us leaving with our bellies full. It's a smaller restaurant so I'd recommend calling ahead if you have a bigger group than 4 but it's worth the wait trust me if you come on a packed night.

I will say I enjoyed my time here. The waitress was very kind and the atmosphere was good! We didn't really wait too long for our food since we did come in around when it wasn't busy. The food was definitely good and tasty. When they say spicy, they mean it. I will definitely say the portions were very lackluster. I felt like they could've had more for what it's priced. My friend had to order more addition pork belly while we've been to other ramen places that give a bigger portion for around the same price. And definitely feel like the drinks were very lackluster as well. There were no options for fountain drinks like soda and we could get sweet tea and water. They charge you for refills if you want more sweet tea. Which is insane to me since the cups didn't seem much bigger than the water cups. Other than that, it was very tasty and enjoyed my time.

Food: pretty solid! Just returned from Japan and the taste is very similar. The broth of the ramen was absolutely delicious. Gyozas were nice, crispy and thin as it should be. Extensive list of drinks and Sakes. Soda's are not free refills. Service: very nice, very friendly, fast and attentive. Ambiance: loved the decor and it really does feel like an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. I would definitely recommend and return here. For me it is a bit far as I live on the other side of town but certainly consider a trip to just come here!

Dropped in here for lunch and wasn't disappointed! The service was friendly and fast. Loved the vibe here, felt very much like a NY ramen place. The food was fantastic! Everything was fresh and had unique flavors. The shumai was great, sauce was perfect! Also recommend the Kazoku Bun, so good! Will be back to try more!

Pretty good size shopping plaza and it's a standalone building. Don't have to walk thru the plaza dealing with people. Park and walk right in. For me, service is what made it just an OK experience. It was a little late for dinner but the restaurant was still open. I understand the side work for closing as I've been in the field before but if you have a table, it should be a focus on the guests not the other way around. There was a mix up on the bill and the annoyance on her face seemed as if she felt it was my fault. But she did fix the issue almost seeming begrudgingly. I'll also mention that I had to flag down other staff for refills, as well as the bill. And you know how it goes - one thing is off and it makes for a forgettable experience. But I will say that dinner was fine. See pics. Can't complain about prices or portions but when I was annoyed, I was just eating to eat. I don't know anyone out here whose tastes for Sushi/Sashimi aligns with mine so it's hard to say whether I'd go back or not. First, obviously I don't live there and second, more places I'd probably want to try before I go back for service like I experienced that night. But it's probably not likely

Being from California, we did not think our sushi standards could be topped, but this place completely proved us wrong. Some of our favorites were the salmon belly, the red snapper sampler, the yellowtail, and the slam on hand rolls. Everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. We also loved that they had Echigo beer, which is not easy to find and was a great addition to the meal. One thing that really stood out was how well balanced everything was. Nothing felt overwhelming or heavy, and every dish felt thoughtfully put together. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of the rolls here. I could not recommend this place more. An amazing experience from start to finish.

It had a Michelin 2025 sticker on the front door so I thought it would be amazing. I want to say that the service was excellent. Very attentive servers, very professional, very friendly. The service was 5-stars for sure. Next, the food. We started with the miso soup and ginger salad. Miso soup was bland and the ginger dressing on the salad was super bland. We ordered the crispy spicy tuna and the steamed shumai next. The crispy spicy tuna was weird. The first taste bud stimuli was fishy and the last thing you tasted was McDonald's hashbrowns. Also, the chopsticks were very cheap and when you picked up the piece it basically fell apart. The presentation for the steamed shumai was horrible. It was served in a bowl with the chili garlic sauce in a tiny bowl on the side. The pieces were wayyy too big to pick up with the chopsticks and for the mouth. But if you managed to get the thing in your mouth, it was super hot and basically burned your mouth. Like there was no option to take a bite it was either shove the whole thing in your mouth or not eat it at all. The rolls we ordered were the Mr Crabby, which was the only good thing we ordered. The Naruto, which had too many layers of cucumber wrapped around it and the pieces were mini. The villain, a $25 roll with caviar on top, but the caviar was so sparse, it could barely be seen with the naked eye. Rainbow roll was ok but again, the pieces were tiny. Every roll was flavorless and the price point was stupid. $122 plus tip for a bland lunch was retarded. Super disappointed.

On the afternoon/evening of 8/4/25 my husband and I came in. We ordered rose bubble tea, and lavender bubble tea, both large, oat milk, double boba. The second we came in we saw the girl peak her head out and rolled her eyes. "What do you want." With no energy and heavy attitude. I was polite and said my order. And she seemed upset about something on her mind. We decided to tip her I think 15-18% to see if it would make her happy or brighten her day. She didn't say thank you and she just turned around and walked away. I was not expecting her to say thank you for the tip, but I was expecting her to say thank you or your order will be out soon as a customer service note. There was another guy behind the counter/curtain and he mentioned something which made her go. "Oh well it's too late now, and then she shrugged her shoulders. " and we heard that as we left the building. Got home and within about 20 minutes my husband and I threw up. I have no idea what happened to these drinks, as the curtains are closed behind the counter. I no longer trust this place to make me SAFE food.
