JINYA Tonkotsu Original, it was ok. My partner actually preferred their veggie broth.

This place is so yummy! I was nervous about parking but when we parked, street parking was free so that was nice. Our server was friendly and the food came out quickly. My partner didn't love the pork broth and actually said my vegetable broth was better. Also I recommend skipping the combination add ons on their menu. We ordered the impossible pot stickers and salad. The salad was just lettuce and dressing and the potstickers were ok but not something I would order again.

Off of the menu item. Cha-cha-cha.

Second time visiting this location and I'm still a fan. I grew up in Houston and had a Jinya near my house, so this place already has a little nostalgia for me. One thing I'll always come back for is the ramen. This time I ordered an off menu item I've loved for years called the Cha Cha Cha. It used to be on the menu and if they'll still make it for you, order it. It's definitely for the garlic lovers. Lots of garlic and pork, so if that's not your thing, maybe skip it. But for me, it is so good. I went during the daytime, so it wasn't crowded. Parking was easy too. I found street parking this time, but there's also a parking garage right behind the restaurant if needed, so getting in isn't stressful. The staff was friendly and I sat at the bar top seating right in front of the cooking area instead of getting a table. I actually enjoyed that setup. The food was delicious and the service was great. I also love the ambience here. It's dark, cozy, and a little mysterious in a cute way. It's not trying to be super high end. It's just a really good ramen spot with a cool vibe. I know there's another location in SouthPark too, but I've found them to be pretty consistent across locations. Overall, I'll definitely keep coming back.

Clean place, fresh food and quality ingredients. I got the chicken chashu bowl and it was delicious. Rice is the base and it's topped with a seasoned egg, ground chicken, chicken breast pieces, green onions and mushrooms. Pro top- try theor noise "seasoning" with it. It's a red sauce that adds a delicious depth of flavor to almost any dish you could get here. The shrimp appetizer was also delicious ! I could of just eaten that with a side of rice by myself. We came at an off peak time, 3:30pm, so it was not busy but still steady. The place is not very large so I can see their being a wait during peak times.

There's something about winding down with a rich bowl of ramen that just hits the spot. If you're not into ramen or you're sticking to a low-carb diet, this probably isn't the spot for you. But if you are, this is your place! The ramen is consistently delicious, and they also serve up some really solid cocktails. One thing that really stands out for us is the kids' meal. It's surprisingly well thought out and reasonably priced, with a variety of items that make it feel like a great value. Even better, it's a fun way to get your kid to try new things without any pressure. I'm taking off one star just because I think they should offer one or two low carb items - even just a steak....

JINYA Ramen Bar is a beautiful Uptown spot with sleek design, strong cocktails, fun shareable plates, and a great vibe for groups. The sushi, small plates, karaage, dumplings, and bowls were honestly the stars for me. Now... coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, where ramen is serious business, the ramen here is good, not life changing. It'll do, but it's not the best I've ever had. Still, the overall experience makes this place worth visiting. The crispy fried avocado was fantastic. The cocktails were gorgeous. The sake service was a fun touch. Portions are smaller, so order several dishes and share with the table. Parking in Uptown is pricey, so plan ahead. Street parking gets easier after 8 p.m. Overall, this is a fun, stylish place to meet friends, split plates, and enjoy a night out in Charlotte. Life's too short to not eat well. Chow down, Charlotte.

Decor is beautiful and love the genre of music being played but was a little disappointed in the food. The drink was great but the food didn't match. Everything was bland on flavor and I was expecting more traditional taste. Not sure if I would return, maybe I'll try the other location. Service was great, our waitress made sure everything was good.

GET THE CRISPY CHICKEN it was so amazing!!! The rest of what we got was just ok do NOT get the fries all orders at our table were under done and some at our table couldn't even eat any of them. Their ramen is also $20 just a heads up. service was awful. Our waitress never checked on us we had to flag her down the whole time

Birria Ramen (3/5): My tastebuds were definitely confused. I don't think this is the right combo of flavors for ramen. There was also barely any meat. The noodles were still good though. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

I'll start by saying I'm only giving one star because they refunded my order. I stopped by on my lunch break for a quick and easy pickup order. It took 10 minutes to even be addressed by staff in the lobby, where there were numerous people waiting to be either sat for dine in, order placing, and order pick up. A table of 4 walked in right before me for dine in service. Then I placed my to go order. All I ordered was pan fried gyoza and a side of steamed rice. I had a discount to add, which the hostess did not know how to do, so I had to wait for someone else to come to the front in order to pay. Someone finally came up and I was able to pay. While I was waiting on my food, I noticed another woman was there to pick up her to go order and she was not addressed by any staff for almost 15 minutes. I continued waiting for my food for over 30 minutes-for a single appetizer and side of rice. By 45 minutes, I was letting other people that came in know how long the food was taking. Another woman who was waiting on her to go order heard me say it had taken a while and said she had placed her order ahead but a lot of time had still elapsed by the time it was ready. They brought her order out and I had to ask another server if they could check for my order. When they finally brought it out, it had been over 45 minutes. As I was talking to the server, the party that walked in before me for dine in service had finished their meals and were leaving the restaurant. I asked for a refund, which the server obliged and apologized for. Once I got back to the office and opened my food, it was disappointing to say the least. The "pan fried" gyoza was barely fried, and the dumplings were so gooey that they were sticking to each other and the plate and falling apart. Every time I try to give Jinya a chance, I am disappointed again and again. After returning to the office, I spoke with other coworkers who have all had similar experiences recently. Suffice to say I definitely won't be giving them any more chances.

I'm not a soup boy so no ramen for me, this review is 100% non-ramen. I ordered 5 items: - JINYA Bun - Crispy Chicken Wings - Spicy Creamy Shrimp Tempura - Nikuma (Steamed Pork Bun) - Aburi Oshi-Sushi Salmon Everything was really good. At first I was disappointed in the Aburi Oshi Sushi because in my opinion the rice to salmon ratio was way off, I'm a huge fan of Nigiri and typically love a thick piece of fresh raw salmon. With this Oshi Sushi all I basically could taste was the rice, the salmon was almost non-existent. So I googled it to see other examples of Oshi and that's how they all look, it's basically a rice-forward style of sushi with a think slice of fish on top. It's not my preferred sushi style but they executed it exactly how it's supposed to be. Everything else was great. And from what I could tell from the pickup area, the restaurant is clean and nice inside. I'll have to come sit down here for dinner for sure at some point.

***THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER RAMEN SPOTS AROUND CLT*** (Shang Ramen, Ramen Bar Kazoku) Wow, I am not even sure where to start. The experience began well. The appetizers were genuinely good and the matcha lemonade was great. That was unfortunately the highlight of the night. Once we ordered our entrees, everything fell apart. Nearly an hour passed before only two people in our party received their food. After another twenty minutes, the rest of the meals arrived and they were completely wrong. The dishes were not spicy as requested, the eggs were overcooked, the noodles were incorrect, and the food was barely warm. Then we waited yet another twenty minutes for the final two meals to come out. By the time everyone had their food, half of our party was already finished eating. Paying twenty dollars for lukewarm ramen with little to no flavor was incredibly disappointing. Our waitress, Taniya, was one of the only bright spots. She was clearly doing the jobs of multiple people, handling the bar, serving, and waiting tables all at once. This was absolutely not her fault. Unfortunately, the shift lead on duty did not help improve the situation. There was a clear lack of organization, urgency, and situational awareness, which only added to the frustration as issues continued to pile up without resolution. That said, the overall experience was still unacceptable for a restaurant like this. If the restaurant is that understaffed, customers should be told upfront before ordering. The table next to us was dealing with similar issues including wrong orders, cold food, and appetizers arriving after their meals. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this entire experience was frustrating, disorganized, and far below expectations.

Tried here for the first time and wasn't disappointed in the food. Delicious ramen (birria, a spicy pork). Cocktails were very very good. Took off a star because our experience was marred by a rude server, however manager talked to us about the issue and rectified the situation. Even with that is still highly recommend and look forward to trying this place again.

It is beyond me why Jinya isn't packed every day! Service is amazing, food is delicious and service is excellent. It's also a great spot for a date night since it's darkly lit and intimate.

We started with the pork gyoza, which were delivered quickly and were delicious. For our entrees, I had the Tonkotsu Black with added braised tofu, and my husband had the Spicy Tantan. I don't usually like eggs in my ramen (because they are never cooked enough), but Menya cooked theirs perfectly soft boiled, and I loved the flavor the egg added to the soup. Both soups had complex flavors, and we loved them. The tofu was great--thinly sliced and flavorful, if a bit salty--but I am not sure I'd need it again. My husband thought his soup was perfectly spicy. A note about parking - if you can park in the lot in front of the building, you scan a QR code, and open a parking time block. (I believe Menya paid for a 2-hour block.) You then enter the information on an iPad at the back of the restaurant to validate your parking and start the clock. It was easier than I expected, and I'd definitely use this parking service again. And if you can't get a spot in the lot in front of the building, you can park on the neighborhood streets just one or two blocks away. All told, it was a great meal for a reasonable cost. We'll definitely return!

I also liked how loud the overhead music was...but sadly, it was elevator music. Very dated. If it was something a bit more contemporary (metro lounge?), it would have been way nicer. Now, the food! I ordered their Doza Ramen, which looked spicy from the pictures...but I ended up with a very mild broth, with hardly any red chile sauce or spice to it at all. I even asked if they can add more chili and/or spice to it, and the waitress basically said that's not possible (What?!? Of course you can!!). Anyway, she said I can add Siracha sauce. (???) Guess she assumed this was the first time I had ramen lol?!? The Pork Chashu was nice and tender, but very small portion...and a tiny portion of ground pork (of beef?) and mushroom as well. Just skimpy toppings all around...yet this bowl was priced 18 bucks. I also hated how they didn't even bother to split open the egg. Also, I wasn't a fan of their super-thin noodles either. Just look at how unappetizing this bowl looked! So basically, this ramen struck out on several accounts. Possibly the weakest ramen I've had in a restaurant in years?? I managed to down at least one third of it though. Then this Sampler Tempura. While the portion of plentiful, I thought the batter was weak...and well, some of the veggie tempura just tasted BAD. Especially the Brussel Sprouts (which I normally love) had this sour taste to it? I was also disappointed that they didn't include Broccoli in the mix. I was only able to eat half of this. Just not that good. I just can't sugarcoat it. I was not into their ramen or this sampler tempura. Both too mild...very bland. Also...they charge you an additional dollar if you use credit card. Something I don't recall seeing on the menu. Given such high ratings from Yelp, I had high hopes for this place...but I left scratching my head. I doubt I'll be returning anytime soon.

So far so good. Our food comes and we realized we have no utensils and my daughter's noodles had no broth in it. It was dry noodles. The server comes back asked us if we needed anything and we said yes can we have some utensils please? A fork and some chopsticks and broth for my daughters noodles. They are dry. She says sure no problem and leaves. Now while we are waiting two Spanish women we seated behind us. In the time we were waiting the two guest behind us placed their orders and got their food. When the server comes back she hands us 3 pairs of chopsticks and garlic. Walks back to the two women and hands one of them a fork. Still no fork or broth my daughter's noodles. My wife had to pour the broth from her ramen into our daughter's bowl so she can eat. The server comes back again with 3 GOT DAMN SPOONS and says she couldn't find any more forks. So in the entire restaurant theirs not ONE FORK. I said but you just gave those customers a fork. Pointing to the guest behind us. She says sorry and walks over to the guest behind us. The server starts talking to the guest in Spanish but little does she know I speak Spanish. The server starts complaining about us to the guest saying that we're asking for too many things and we need to shut up and just eat our food. when I told my wife that they're talking about us, she immediately asked for the manager we explained our situation and the manager immediately comped our meal. Terrible experience. Atleast we didn't have to pay for it.
