I wished I'd looked into other area options after being informed while checking in that the pet fee was now $25 higher than I was quoted on the website as of January 1st, and not being informed, noticing on the bill as I left, that there was an -additional- "pet cleaning" fee of $15 added to the tab. Something was off-kilter in the ventilation of the room I was assigned, and the air was often too dry for most of the evening while we were there. It eventually corrected itself overnight once I turned the fan mode off. I also noticed the lack of bathroom ventilation that a previous reviewer commented on and that the bathroom did not seem to be connected to the heating for the rest of the room. Proximity to a couple of restaurants across the parking lot was nice, and additional shopping areas are just up the street. Having driven by this place somewhat regularly over the last several years, I'm glad to have tried it, but not sure I would want to stay again.

So, it was safe to say my expectations were not that high. Wow!!!!!! I was totally wrong about that. The owner Tabitha, greeted me upon arrival w/a beaming smile and a big & fun personality. When I got to my room, it was one of the coziest, cutest, and serene hotel rooms I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. After I brought my bags in my room and got situated, I walked around the grounds of the hotel and noticed they offered an outdoor almost (back yardish) spot for entertaining guests, complete with a small gazebo, fire pit, outdoor games, a table to dine or relax at w/chairs and small love seat, and a grill! Later on while trying to decide on a local restaurant to order dinner from, the grill that I had seen earlier popped into my head. I thought to myself, I'll go ask the owner if the grill is available for guests to cook dinner on? I figured the owner would probably laugh at me and tell me absolutely not. After I asked her this question, Tabitha (w/a big smile on her face) told me that she had purchased the grill for the guest to have a different option other than ordering out. So, I jumped in my car and drove down to Stop & Shop and bought a New York strip steak, fresh asparagus, fresh scallions, fresh mushrooms, and fresh ingredients to make a salad. I went to bed that night with not only a big smile on my face because of the hospitality, but also a pretty big sized full belly from the dinner I consumed! If you and your significant other ever decide to escape every day life and head down to the Cape for a great date night, I highly recommend reserving a room at "The Inn at Buzzards Bay"

Any worries or concerns that I may have had disappeared the moment we pulled into the drive. From the impeccable landscaping to the timely and friendly greeting from the Inn owner, Pattie started the weekend off perfectly. She was both warm and inviting. She took the time to show us her beautiful property and all of its personalized, beautiful features and amenities. The rooms were spacious, impeccable and adorned with all of the luxuries you may want for a comfortable stay. The housekeeping crew left the room spotless and tidy each day as well. Watching Pattie work and care for her guests make the stay just that more special. She truly cares about her guests comfort. My friends and I were able to enjoy her delicious, homemade breakfasts (we could have done better of keeping her informed of any culinary preferences but she was able to accommodate a few reasonable requests). She has truly thought of every detail---from coffee/tea/filtered water access all day to homemade cookies ! Sitting on the veranda together whether in the evening or morning after breakfast, we were able to settle in surrounded by trees and enjoy one another's company. Fitness center offered treadmills, one elliptical and free weights with two benches, plus a small workout area with mats and kettle balls. Open 24 hours. We didn't try the pool. Room coffee - those little shrink wrapped trays common to most Marriotts sucks. But the closet, fridge and microwave were all in tip top shape. Bathroom was clean and mold free.
