I did a review long ago and updating how poorly Michael Simkin represented me in a forced eviction from my then 31 years living in Studio City near Vineland and Ventura in a duplex. He charged me between $1000 and $2000 for the two short court appearances in the Van Nuys court when I later learned should have been $250. I was forced into taking $10,000 (city legal minimum fee?) to move when under siege by the landlord with constant service attempts to vacate. Did not look at other local options and moved to Palm Springs, a brother's suggestion, the worse 13 years of my life. Simkin's lawyer friend who took over the case even stole my settlement money when I signed the final check. The duplex is now worth a million and best part of the city. In short, it appears there are no honest lawyers, or is that an oxymoran?
