I took my 2021 Supra in for an alignment on a Monday around 4pm, Tuesday morning (around 9am) ~20miles of driving later my driver side axle broke, due to the inner CV Joint bearing cage failing into pieces. After reviewing my dash cam footage, I saw several things that led me to write this review: 1. Techs were very non-nonchalantly chatting about taking the cars they work on test drives, even going as far as saying that they've purchased their cars because of test drives at the shop. Is this a red flag? maybe... 2. Tech that performed my alignment can clearly be heard saying he is about to full send it. 3. Tech proceeded to joy ride my vehicle, high-revs, manual shift, play with radio, etc. Would my axle have broken on that day, regardless of my visit to Auto Science? Who knows... but I certainly I wish I could go back in time and NEVER trusted this shop with my property, broken or not. The shop's response: 1. Refunded my alignment... 2. Spent countless messages back and forth / uploading videos / receipts / etc. 3. Stated a couple times they would be less inclined to help if I left a negative review 4. Offered me $250 to help towards fixing the car - I decided to stop wasting my time emailing them at that point. I guess some people would think $250 is fair, since there is no tangible evidence the test drive/alignment resulted in a broken axle... I am not one of those people. I've spent an insane amount of time and a lot of effort to get my car towed/fixed at home, this doesn't even being to cover it. My opinion: It is impossible for me to treat the axle failure as an isolated event, I didn't even get a chance to push the car before it broke. TL/DR: Tech took my car on a joy ride and my driver side CV Joint blew up around ~20miles later. read more

Had this place do a PPI on a car I was purchasing nearby. I was pleased they were able to do it quickly, but they missed a lot of stuff. Surprising as their reviews otherwise seem good. I had a Porsche 911 in for inspection and only the most obvious items were reported. Many other issues went undetected and these are adding into the thousands to fix. I hope they take this review as feedback to improve their PPI inspections. read more

This is the place to take your car, especially if it's something complicated. There have been multiple occasions where another shop could not find the issue, and then I brought it here, & the problem got solved. The most recent had to do with a check engine light that kept turning on, which obviously could have caused harm if left as is. Auto Science took care of the issue completely, and I left as a happy customer once again. Thank you to Auto Science for saving my car from potential catastrophe when no one else could figure it out. Buyer BEWARE! YouTube University told me the ABS module on my 2015 Toyota Prius was failing (warning lights were on, pump kept cycling every few seconds). Auto Science's $160 diagnosis confirmed this, and I was quoted $3000! to replace the part. Instead I bought a new part ($470.66) 2 quarts of brake fluid ($17.30) and AR Motors TX (HIGHLY recommended!) up in Denton did the work for ($406.01) for a total of $893.97. So if you want to pay more than THREE times what you should be paying, definitely bring your car here! read more

I make the trip from McKinney to Auto Science for regular maintenance and repairs for both my vehicles since 2022. They are trustworthy and transparent on repairs and diagnosis. Their work is top notch! Auto Science revived my 2009 SH Forester after it ran dry after a cross country road trip and severely damaged the engine. Being new to the area I did not know anywhere I could take it into to potentially recover from the situation. After getting numerous Auto Science recommendations online, I called and spoke to Zach and explained what was going on. With confidence instilled from Zach and a bit of faith on my part had the vehicle towed to Auto Science and wished for the best. After a short while Zach provided me with a few repair options and reviewed pros and cons of each - which was much appreciated. Soon after I was back on the road with a replacement rebuilt short block and what felt like a brand new car. Since then I have had regular maintenance and repairs performed exclusively at Auto Science - seeing all the Subarus in the parking lot instilled even more confidence for future maintenance. I was told by another shop that my wife's car needed differential mounts replaced. I've also seen a little fluid on the garage floor. I saw great reviews online for this place so she asked them to check it out and get a second opinion while she was getting a state inspection. They were busy so said she'd have to return in the a.m. which is understandable but said to just diagnose it would cost $150. They get a couple of stars for being quick on the state inspection but $150 to get a second opinion is ridiculous. I don't know their labor rate but my bet is that's close to 2 hours of labor a 15 minute diagnosis. Come here for state inspections but I'd steer clear otherwise. read more

Had a check engine light on my car, when I called the Ford dealership they said I would need to drop it off and it would take 5 days before they'd even be able to read the code. Not fix it, just let me know what the issue is, which I already knew what it was. I called Auto Science with the codes and they ordered the parts immediately so when I came in a few days later was in and out in a few hours. The dealership was ready to kidnap my car for possibly two weeks over the same problems! Love these guys and their ethics. read more

Honestly, these guys are very reliable and very professional if you are looking to install after-market parts on your JDM cars and don't want to make the drive over out to Forth Worth to pay a visit to Kraken Motorsports. They took less than half a day to install a catback and a few other mods for my turbo back in March and the speed and quality of the service were great. I am already looking into having them install more and give me a professional tune, definitely would recommend these guys to anyone in the Carrollton/Lewisville area. Pricing is fair! read more

Couldn't choose between 3 or 4 stars... Went to get a car fixed and weren't completely sure what the problem was, but needed it back as quickly as possible. Dropped it off and they said they could get to it in a few hours (that's fine). Made sure before we left that they would call us before doing anything to fix it yet, we wanted to give the okay first (had never been here before for car work). Called them a good 7 hours later to see if they had solved anything yet, and they said it was most likely a battery problem, but were going to leave it connected to a charger overnight to see for sure. The next morning I gave them a call after we got an email for the work and parts order, and was told they already fixed the problem and put a new battery in... Without asking us first if that was okay (like we had asked). Batteries aren't hard to change out and it would have given us the choice to save money and do it ourselves, or just let them do it to save time. Well this was frustrating because the bill was steep for a battery and we never got a call. When asked why they didn't call we were told, "when we get a battery issue, we usually just go ahead and fix it ourselves". I didn't like that answer, but we still couldn't fight it and the car was fixed, so whatever. But be sure to stress that you want to know what is wrong BEFORE they do anything. And make it pretty known because even after I asked, they still didn't call... The car is fixed and all is well with it, so that is nice. The front desk staff is helpful and knowledgeable, so we appreciated their patience when we had questions. Still just wish they had followed through and given us a call first before charging us $$$. read more

I am updating my review to 1 star as I have had the car for three months now and even more disappointed on the pre-purchase inspection (PPI) these guys did. When I first called in with my concerns, they refunded me the $149.00 that they charge for the inspection. I thought that was a nice gesture and left them three stars with a very basic review. Now that I have had the car a couple months, it is very apparent that they spent little to no time on this car and did not take into consideration. I was relying on them to advise me on the true condition of this $40,000 Porsche 911 purchase. Buttons didn't work, convertible top didn't work correctly, rips, and punctures in the leather, missing trim parts, multiple panels of the car had been repainted and the front bumper misaligned, bald tires, missing lug nut Key, and the list goes on. The dealership I purchased the car from highly recommended the shop to do the PPI. Now I see why. What upsets me the most is that I spoke with the owner and explain to him that this was my dream car purchase, and that I was relying on them to tell me everything to be my eyes and ears. They completely let me down and showed no empathy at all. I've already spent over $5000 on the car to fix the repairs that they somehow overlooked. Perhaps their clientele are low end vehicles, but whatever the case, they are certainly not qualified to deal with any type of high-end performance car from my experience keep looking for another shop. read more

I needed a power steering pump on a Subaru outback. The price was 750 with a 2 year warranty. I offered to get the part from rock auto online and asked if he would just charge labor for the part I buy. He matched the price from rock auto for the pump, without a 2 year warranty which is what I wanted. They also performed a bit of work on the injectors. Price was 500 out the door. I am very happy with their price and work. I will be taking my daughters Acura MDX in for a oil change in a few weeks. I am happy with their prices, workmanship, customer service. read more

Another year later and this place is still going strong! - I brought my ol' Forester in for a checkup before I go on a long trip. Ryan and his crew gave it a good looking over and fixed a couple things for me. What's great is my stupid Forester's steering wheel used to shake when I was stopped at a red light. No more! It's smooth sailing now. Awesome! They also said everything else looks to be in excellent shape, which was good to hear. - I'm bringing it back in to have more work done on it. You know if video games you can like upgrade your car? Give it better gas mileage, more horsepower, etc? Well you can do that in real life, too! And this place will do it! I'm having the downpipe or downtube or whatever replaced. I'm also having it tuned up, which is a day-long process. I'm told my car will be like a whole new animal, with increased horsepower and better gas mileage. It's like a doctor's office for Subarus! - They've maintained their waiting lobby - there are more video games there now. There's a big one with an emulator inside - dozens of games there to play while you wait. The dog is gone - they keep her at home now. I love this place and I'm sad to be moving away because my baby is losing her mechanic! read more

Yea! Guys at Auto Science are awesome. Great customer service, everything is completed on time per their estimation. Very affordable for service, any services. For myself $100's cheaper than some other ahh "performance" shops.. - (and they don't just do performance, something as simple as an oil change is readily available) - yet this doesn't mean you have to compromise on the quality of work. Anything you can think that you have to, need to and or want to do to your vehicle, these guys can handle it.. Highly recommend these guys. I was stunned to see that after work on the engine the hood of the truck is misaligned and, although the vehicle had a lot of dings and chipped paint it has come back with a whole lot more! This was not mentioned to me when I picked up the vehicle but my wife noticed immediately when she returned home. She drives the vehicle every day so is much more familiar with it. read more

Awesome Repair Shop - Use Them I went in for a brake job, expecting to have them tell me I needed new rotors along with the pads. (Like every other shop does). They were able to turn my old rotors and do both front and back brakes for about what other shops wanted for just one axle. These guys are informative, honest and the people who own the shop run it. They know cars and will treat you right. Wherever I move, I always look around for an honest, knowledgeable shop with reasonable prices. These guys are it for me!!! read more

Good service, friendly staff, but was charged double the industry average for a radiator hose replacement. They also snuck in a double charge for coolant (which I had not run out of-tank was half full right before I gave it to them). Was charged over 200 for labor (industry average for this service is about 80). it's a shame to have a solid business model but then be so dishonest about pricing. read more

Auto science is a worse experience in the world. They are a scam when it comes to auto-tuning and performance. Their knowledge and management by far the worse bunch of clowns messing with cars. They didn't recalibrate the ECU when tuning the vehicle which is a common sense, and I had to spend money on a car rental because of their mistakes and they want to charge labor and parts for the ECU on something they did to the car just to say they don't care about customer service to scam money. read more

So when I was looking for a place that would install my LED headlights in my GMC truck alot of shops and dealers turned me down because of the kind of lights I had. But when my husband found this place he did it with no problem. Even had it done the same day we brought it in. Since then we had an issue with our motor back window which they replaced and fixed. And just last week we had to replace a rim,shock, and some bent rod on our Prius. This has been our come to auto mechanic since these guys installed our headlights. Great Service !! I scheduled install of Running boards on my SUV. Auto Science was recommended via Amazon Services when I bought the Step board to install from Amazon. From scheduling the appointment to completion of the work was so much hassle and gimmick free !! Person at front office was very courteous. Additionally, shop has basic amenities for the customer including self-make coffee/tea, free sodas/water and complementary Wifi ! Another solid review for Auto Science! I worked with another mechanic in Lewisville a couple of months prior to finding Auto Science. The first mechanic couldn't diagnose the problem that even I was later able to diagnose as a blown head gasket in my 2004 Accord. I started calling around to check prices and despite Auto Science's impressive resume, they were amount the top 3 most affordable. After learning that the work comes with a 2 year warranty, and speaking with Ryan for what seemed like an extended period of time, I decide to schedule the repair. It was done on time and for the price quoted. I wasn't gouged for extra expenses like most places would do. I paid what we had discussed the prices would be. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. I am 32 years old and have finally found a mechanic that I can call "my mechanic." I will be back! read more

Wow! These guys are AWESOME! I never thought I'd find a car repair shop that I would recommend to everyone! I am from Alaska and me and my 2002 Subaru Forester have gone almost 200,000 miles together. I've needed all sorts of small repairs and some large ones even. These guys not only have quality customer service, but they have quality repairs too! I have used them for the last two years to get my Alaskan car back up to my Dallas standards. I am so thankful to have found them and wish I could take them back to Alaska with me! As a flight attendant, I may just have to fly them up to visit Alaska and do a few repairs while they are there! Brought in a Nissan NV2500 HD Cargo van for a pre-purchase inspection. Glad I did, they found about $2,200.00 bucks worth of repairs that need to be done. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about trucks but they found things I would never have thought to look at. Working with the dealer to either get the items fixed of the price dropped. A "respected" auto shop in Colleyville diagnosed my A/C problem as needing a new condenser and priced the repair at $1,200. Ryan at Auto Science checked it out thoroughly (for free) and determined the condenser was fine, it needed a new fan (and another ancillary part). The real cost was $550 and done while I waited. Honestly, I think Ryan enjoyed the troubleshooting challenge to determine the exact problem that killed my A/C--that's the kind of mechanic you want to bring your car to! Lewisville is a bit out of the way for me, but Auto Science really is the best you can get. If there's a fix that will save money and time, they'll tell you. (The scammy place in Colleyville, in addition to quoting me twice as much for a procedure that wouldn't have even fixed my A/C, said they wouldn't be able to work on it for another week and actually recommended I install a fan on my dash. They also said it would take several days to fix...and suggested I consider getting rid of my car even though, as a 2010 Civic, it still has at least 100,000 miles left in it.) read more

Recently, I was put in a bit of a predicament as I was having car troubles. My car was known for head gasket issues, something I asked my local dealer to check for. 6 months later, and 2 trips to the dealer, I still find my car overheating. I ended up at Autoscience with a couple suggestions and brought my car for a check, finding Ryan at the front desk. I told him the symptoms of my car and he brought it in to have it looked at. Maybe 15 minutes went by before I had a confirmed diagnosis of a blown head gasket. I ended up talking with one of his mechanics, Ramiro, who was very knowledgeable. He described the problem, how and even why I had the issue in the first place, and what steps I would take to ensure a proper fix. When it came to the time of the actual fix, I was shocked to see that the repair would be done in two days, as well as getting a loaner car that was really quite nice. The whole process was simple, and you can really see the care and effort these guys put into their work. They're proud of what they do, and they should be. read more

Did it promptly and fixed the problem. Price was more then fair. Looked up on internet approximate price for the job. It said between 190-500 and they did it for 200.
