BUT, Chris the manager has helped me numerous times with trouble shooting both on phone and in person and with referrals due to my car has some complex-contradictive problems. Chris even called the next place for me, to talk "mechanic lingo" to the next mechanic, while I was there!! That is H-U-G-E :) They have a clean and friendly wait room, mechanics and office :) I have received quotes b4 and prices seem VERY fair. I can't begin to say enough nice things that describe Brandon and his team at The Hon-da Doctor (they had to change it a few years ago to have the hyphen...apparently it pissed Honda off). When I moved to DFW from small town West Texas, I was sucker punched with one fake sales move after another when it came to my new Accord. One afternoon I went to a Honda dealership, needing a small fix. Their quote was out of the roof, so I left to think it over. On the way out, a small elderly man stopped me and handed me a card to the Hon-da Doctor. Fast-forward to eight years later, and I still call the Hon-da doctor for any and all of my car needs. Brandon has always been like a friend - never pushy, never sales-driven, just HONEST. The first few times he quoted me on something, I called my dad (because that's what girls do, right?), and he verified...Brandon is a stand-up guy when it comes to telling you what you need and what you don't, or what you can wait on. Now I turn to Brandon for everything. On my most recent experience, one of my ball joints that the Hon-da Doctor had repaired failed on me. I didn't remember them doing the work, but they were the first people I called when my car went limp. Brandon immediately recommended me to his buddy at The Hondew Shop (see my review), and then paid for the tow cost AND repairs because it was his original repair that had failed. What a stand-up guy! It's a bit north, but completely worth the drive. They only work on Hondas and Acuras, so keep that in mind. And bonus...his mom drives the "shuttle" they offer, and she is just too sweet! read more

I remember seeing the Hon-Da Doctor sign when I was using another mechanic downtown. Met 2 returning customers who were very happy with the establishment and the people therein. Gave glowing reviews of many past service calls and routine maintenance tasks. The facilities are very clean and comfortable, a welcome change from a lot of small mechanical businesses. Got a rapid, honest, and above all FREE diagnosis, and was told there was nothing wrong. Read and reset the CEL, told me what they thought the problem was and that there wasn't anything wrong. The cost? $0. I will (1) recommend the place to my friends, and more especially my lady friends and (2) return when I need service on my Honda. read more

My car had some A/C issues and may places would actually charge to even look at the system to diagnose the issue. I called AAC at the recommendation of a friend and Tyler took the time to explain the process they'd follow in a lot of detail, while taking time to answer any additional questions I might have. When I took the car there, they were able to get to it right away. The staff here is extremely competent, they don't make you do additional "stuff" like dealerships and I just got a good feeling about the place (which is hard in this industry). This place is phenomenal! I honestly try to avoid getting my car serviced at all cost, because of, well, the cost and you never really know who can trust. But let me tell you, this place is family owned and operated and you can feel it. The service is quality, the technicians genuinely care about the customers, and there is no pressure to upgrade or do EVERYTHING all at the same time. What's great about this place is they really break it down and let you know the most immediate needs, and then everything else is laid out on a future timeline recommendation basis to be considered at your own discretion. As a woman and a transplant to the area, there is always that nervousness about finding a mechanic. Ladies, you know what I mean...Will they treat me like a guy? Will they respect that I do know and understand my car? Will they give me respect when discussing options? Give me the same prices and options as if my husband brought the car in? I hate to say it, but this is still a problem a lot of times. NOT HERE! LOVE THESE GUYS! Absolute respect from the moment I walked in the door. They understood I know my car (it's a fairly rare model) and how I want to take care of it. What's best is they work to keep the cost down - even if it means sending you somewhere else. Which is exactly what they did with my husband's car. They will do research if it's an interesting problem they haven't dealt with a lot (again, rare model...) and call to discuss options - even recommend not doing anything or doing it yourself! They kept the terminology to what I would understand, but didn't pull any punches on discussing the issues and options. They respected my opinion for my car. The prices, when you do need work, are GREAT. I can't recommend these guys enough. We moved from Lewisville to downtown...Yeah we still make the drive to come up here. One of the stressful parts about relocating is finding a trustworthy mechanic...hats off to my wife for finding these guys. I had trouble with my 2000 Civic failing the emissions test due to a computer issue...they spent a couple days getting to the bottom of it rather than trying to throw parts at it like another place wanted to do. I've been driving Hondas for a couple of decades and I used to be very loyal to Danny's on the rare occasion I had a problem I'm sure Danny's still does a great job, but lately they're always "booked solid" for a week or longer and if I have a problem, I don't want to wait around, so I found Acute Auto Care and they haven't let me down. I think the first time I took the car to Acute, I was having a bizarre electrical issue where all the interior lights, dashboard, gas gauge, everything was DEAD. Needless to say, I didn't want to be driving around very long without knowing how much gas was in the tank so I brought it to Acute right away. They took a few days, going through methodically to see if they could figure out where the problem was; they never found a smoking gun but everything started working again so they put it back together, told me to let them know if it happened again, and only charged me for a couple of hours of labor even though they spent way more than that. Subsequent trips to Acute have been for more basic stuff -- brakes a couple of weeks ago, for example. Dropped off the Accord in the morning, it was ready in the afternoon. These folks are polite, professional, they have decent waiting area, and they are good about keeping you informed if the estimate changes. I think they have a courtesy van but I've never used it. I'm taking it back int tomorrow for a werid squeaking sound coming from the fan belt area...I'll update my review if necessary, but I anticipate the same highl level of service I've been getting. read more

I found Acute Auto Care listed on yelp when I was looking for a repair shop for our Acura. With the good reviews, I decided to call and was lucky to have Tyler answer. Tyler was patient and a wealth of information, which as a woman I don't find many service centers are this way. By the time I hung up I not only took my car in for the needed sensor replacement, but also my 100k tune up. The work was done perfectly and on time. They even had our old parts there when we picked up our car to explain what had happened. The prices for the service your receive are more than reasonable. With our first experience being so good, when my stereo went our, we contacted Tyler again. Again our service was excellent! Was referred to Acute Auto Care by a close friend. I am new to Dallas, and needed some work done on my Toyota. I stopped by the shop and spoke with Tyler. I explained the issue, and what I thought the problem was, and was told that they would do a thorough inspection and let me know what they find before doing any repairs. Well, what they found was not what I thought the problem was. They rotated the tires, aligned the car, and charged me a fair price for the work. When I got the car back, the noise I had experienced was gone. This shop works with integrity, and they have my future business, and I will refer them as well. These are nice guys. A year ago, I took my Honda in for engine repair. After several things were replaced and a thousand bucks later, the problem was not fixed and the car ended up breaking down on the street. I brought it back again and because they couldn't figure out the problem, I ended up taking the car to the Honda dealer repair centre in and ~$2,000 bucks later got the problem fixed. It runs fine now. I suppose I could consider taking it back for simple maintenance but not likely for serious engine problems. read more

I am from Kansas City. On my drive from 80 degrees into 105 degrees my Accord's A/C failed. Being from out of town and just here for a few days I had concerns about looking for a mechanic, but it was over 100 degrees! The online reviews quickly led me to Acute Auto Care. At 4:30 Thursday afternoon, I reached Tyler. After I explained my problem he said they try to make room for safety and A/C (at 105 degrees A/C probably counts as safety) and booked me for the next morning. As soon as they opened, they started checking out my car. In the meantime, I found their waiting room, pleasant, clean, comfortable, and with good wi-fi. Within an hour I had their assessment. They did that initial visual inspection for FREE! They then quickly had me fixed and going at a good price. In my 30 years of owning cars I have worked with a couple of very good shops. AAC is top notch. If it wasn't that these guys are about 500 miles from my house, I would make them my go to mechanics. read more
