Had to call Roadside Assistance to jump it so I could get to O'Reilly's Auto Parts for a new battery before they closed. They said it was the alternator not the battery. Contacted DFW Mobile Repair and Hamm responded immediately with a price quote to fix it. Set up the appointment for mid-afternoon the next day, July 5th (Sunday, on a holiday weekend). Hamm was certainly knowledgeable, and after testing, said it was BOTH the battery and alternator. He replaced the alternator (which he had brought, having had my prior information as to car and model) and then drove to O'Reilly's nearby for a replacement battery which he then installed. In short, Hamm was responsive, capable, courteous and efficient. DFW saved the day (although I lost most of the holiday weekend with the problem!). Pricing wasn't cheap but was competitive I'd say. Give DFW a shot. Their customer service and mechanical work was outstanding. They also have a shop in addition to their mobile repair service. I will certainly consider them for all my future work! He could have easily taken advantage of the situation or exaggerated the damage, but he didn't. He was completely honest and straightforward, and he explained everything clearly. The Kwik Kar district manager even thanked Hunter personally for being truthful about the car not being damaged. That says a lot about the kind of shop this is. Ultimate Car Care has also done excellent work for me recently -- they replaced the spark plugs and coils on my Forester, and the car has been running perfectly ever since.
