We stool for a bit but my phone stamp is 12:07. KITCHEN CLOSED, not open until 1. Change your damn website or keep it open ladies.

Reason you have 3.7 This is the kind of bull about Pilsen. If your kitchen isn't open until 1. THEN TAKE IT OFF YOUR WEBSITE... can't have people who walked several blocks and then walk in an hour and 10 minutes before your kitchen is supposed to close and say the kitchen is closed .

It's a cute bar that has a lot of themes. My coworkers and I love to get a quick bite for lunch!

A friend invited me to Simone's for a Bad Bunny inspired brunch. We got there around 1pm. The place was packed, mostly with girls around their twenties and early thirties who obviously came to listen to some Bad Bunny music while enjoying bottomless mimosas. My friend and I had both gone straight from the gym and were starving. I ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich and she opted for the chilaquiles with chicken. It took over an hour for our food to arrive, which is why I am docking them down one star. Yes, they were busy but an hour is pushing it. I will say, the service was spot on and accommodating. The manager went up to us and apologized for the wait, having our food be on the house. Once the food came, we devoured it. I honestly do not remember much about the flavor of the food because I was starving and had been drinking by that point, so I would say it was solid. They also gave us vodka shots and drinks on the house to compensate for the long wait, which was really nice of them. The guy next to us bought us each a mimosa as well. Of course, we had to order the new drink they were offering, "Bad Bunny." It consists of 21 seed Valencia Orange Tequila, orange liqueur, carrot juice, fresh like, habanero sauce, shredded carrot, and tajin. My friend absolutely loved it. I personally was not a huge fan of it, only because I don't like anything orange flavored. If you like orange flavored drinks, you would love it! The vibe was spot on, with a huge Bad Bunny head being available for photo ops. We decided to skip the photo ops and dance a bit before calling it a day. We found out that they're known for having drag brunches and are definitely interested in checking those out! It was a great vibe and the prices weren't bad at all. We are definitely going to try and make it to one of the drag shows in the summer!

Drinks were fantastic! I got a mango cocktail and loved it with the spicy rim and lime. The food was alright- got a Caesar wrap that lacked in flavor, but the quinoa pizza and appetizers we got were pretty good. Service was great, our waitress was very kind and attentive. Would visit again next time we're in the area.

The food is always spot on. Their burgers are FRESH beef patties and the sweet potato fries are what I really come for. This time we tried the 3 different empanadas and they were truly delicious, especially the paired sauces. The staff is nice and pretty attentive. Good recommendations when asked. The decor is out of this world, super funky and retro vibes, but also the use of old materials to make things new is so creative. Be mindful that this is a bar, so it's pretty calm during the day, but at night it gets more festive (Sunday karaoke, other themed nights, louder music.).

Came here for lunch with a friend, we were the first customers of the day at 12:30, so our server was great, very attentive and super friendly! They have an extensive menu, lots of burgers, pizzas and also lots of vegetarian options. My BLT was ok. Ingredients were all fresh, but the bacon was super fatty, so kind of overpowered the taste of the sandwich. I had also asked for cheese and it wasn't on there. Ambiance wise, the music was too loud. Cool vibe, but hard to chat with the music as loud as it was.

I would first like to put out I'm a very picky eater.. but wow. I've never had an eggs benedict like Simone's. Our waitress was all smiles and very friendly, and I hate to be THAT person-- but a couple who came in after us got their food first!! like the waitress was walking towards us with a hole tray of food and BOOM- table right behind us. buuttt, when we finished our meal and the waitress cleared our table, we got a small cup of complimentary ice cream!

My sister and I met an old friend at Simone's for a drink one Friday night. It was the first time any of us had been there. We arrived around 8:30pm and it wasn't very crowded. We sat in a booth not from the entrance so we could see our friend when he arrived. The waitress came to greet us shortly after we arrived and told us how to access the menu. I opted for the Pilsen Punch and my sister ordered the Jampack. She loved her drink, but I ended up sending mine back because it tasted like something you'd gulp if you were drowning in the ocean! It was so gross. My sister and friend both tasted it and they didn't like it either. I ended up ordering a margarita instead which I didn't care for either but I sucked it up. My friend had a couple of drinks too, but I honestly can't recall what he ordered. He liked his drinks too. My sister ordered some chicken tenders and tater tots too and we all shared. She thought the tots could have been crispier, but overall we were happy with the food. The atmosphere was chill and the crowd seemed to be a mix of neighborhood folks, yuppies and twenty-somethings. Early in the evening the atmosphere felt more like "Cheers" (80s sitcom), but later it became more of a club atmosphere. People started dancing in the back of the bar and the music was so loud that you literally had to yell to the person sitting next to you in order to be heard. It was kind of annoying and ultimately we ended up leaving because of it. The bill was only $55 for the three of us which is pretty reasonable for a night out in Chicago. Our server was training a new waitress so the service wasn't top notch because they seemed to be short staffed, but they seemed to be doing the best they could. I'd definitely return to Simone's in the future.

Came in monday around 4pm, place wasn't busy at all so food & drinks came out fast! The service was great, our server (the check said Addie on it) was amazing and so sweet to my partner and I. We had the margerita pizza, fried ravioli, tempura vegetables, the cocaine bear cocktail, and the bloody monday mojito - which came in a light up cup that you get to keep!!! I love little souvenirs. Lots of specials and deals on Mondays, and prices are good. My partner also got the tomato bisque which comes with a big crisp for dipping and has a nice presentation. The food was great, better than typical bar food, and cocktails were amazing! You can tell the staff likes working together and enjoys talking with guests, it was a really nice and welcoming environment

This place use to be one of my favorites but slowly we've grown apart. The food is great, but there are other things that can improve. For best service look at their website and be ready to cite deals otherwise they won't be honored.

This is not the place for a quiet conversation. It may be one of the loudest restaurants I've visited in quite some time, and a nearby birthday celebration only added to the energy. That said, the atmosphere is part of the appeal. If you're looking for a fun, celebratory evening with friends or family, Gilt Bar delivers. I can't imagine choosing it for a business dinner. We started with the Tenderloin Steak Tartare and onion rings. Both were excellent. My daughter was craving the Bolognese, while I ordered the vodka rigatoni. The portions were generous, and both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The truffle mafaldine appears to be the menu's most celebrated pasta and receives plenty of attention on Yelp, but we were very happy with our selections. Service was spot on throughout the evening. Food arrived with good pacing, drinks were refreshed promptly, and our server struck the right balance between attentive and intrusive. For dessert, we shared the gooey skillet cookie. Be warned: this thing arrives at the table with nuclear-level heat. The vanilla ice cream isn't just there for flavor, it's there for protection. One unusual observation: the floors seemed surprisingly slippery throughout the restaurant, something we noticed more than once. Our bill came to $159 before tip, which felt reasonable given the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. Between the lively atmosphere, strong food, excellent service, and vibrant bar scene, it's easy to understand why Gilt Bar has remained popular for more than 15 years

Overcooked with a little sauce and two pickles slapped on the bun with a tiny little dab of fake cheese - it was like a bad and way more expensive version of McDonald's. The onion rings were the frozen crumbly kind not the fresh beer battered kind and so that's a big "no!" for me. The dipping sauce was okay. Service was friendly and I think the guy was new but it wasn't good enough for a place like that at the top of the building. There were two servers so I'm guessing one was training maybe. They didn't make it to my table to check to see if everything was okay while I was eating and it even took them a while to notice that I was done eating. It's was slow so I don't think they were stressing with too many tables. That kind of place should knock your socks off - but it was on the low end of mediocre. I wouldn't go there again for food. Maybe it's a decent place to go to the bar but since I don't drink I can't help much on that end.

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

My sister missed a step on their staircase because the bar is very dimly lit. The manager witnessed this misstep and immediately asked her to leave, claiming she was "over served." She had yet to purchase a drink at this bar because she spent the first 30+ minutes waiting in line for the women's restroom. 2. The women's restroom line was extremely long, and several women were aggressively using the men's restroom instead. One of my guy friends was in a stall and had women banging on the door and yelling that he was taking too long. 3. I saw a woman walk in with a full backpack hidden under her coat. When security asked what was in it, she said "chips," and they allowed her in without inspecting the bag. That felt concerning from a safety standpoint. 4. The manager, Calvin, was very dismissive and cold when I tried to have a conversation with him about the events surrounding my sister's dismissal. He continued to insist she was over served and suggested she wait outside in the "nice weather." It was 30° and snowing. Figuring this conversation was going no where, I began chatting with one of the hostesses. I was asking for her recommendations where my group should go next in the area. During this convo I used an adjective that rhymes with duck and the manager, who was listening in, told me I had to leave because he claimed I was "swearing at his staff." No one was swearing at anybody? 5. Added this one last minute, after reading the owner's response to a previous review from another member of my group. I question the validity of his reply to save face. I personally went down to the women's restroom moments before I left, and waited in line with two female staff members who did not mention any closure. Additionally, we were told that The Pearl Club was closed to the public and reserved exclusively for our event. We were on one of the morning trolleys and there were two afternoon trolleys that were scheduled for 4pm and 6pm. Why would the bathrooms be closed to prepare for the public around 3/30pm when there was still multiple trolleys scheduled for the afternoon? It's unfortunate because the space itself is cute and intimate, and the hostesses and wait staff we interacted with were kind. However, the management response and overall experience make it unlikely I would return. I understand bars get busy during St. Patrick's Day weekend, but basic safety, communication, and professionalism should still apply.

I'll start by saying I've been a huge fan of The Aviary for years. In the early days of the…read morepandemic, I got all their cocktail books, and my friends and I bought some of the equipment (vacpot, porthole) and started making Aviary drinks. So when I went to Chicago to visit friends recently, this was my first reservation. We were kindly greeted and seated toward the rear of the dining room. Collectively, we ordered more than half the beverages on the menu. I won't go into tons of detail on them, since some drinks are seasonal, but I will say that it was a blast experiencing craft cocktails and mocktails at their finest. I love the menu concept of the birds that fly farther along the page to indicate how alcohol-forward the drink is. That's a really fun idea! One friend ordered both the spirited and the non-alcoholic Porthole to compare the flavors. And we all liked the N/A version better! Our server kindly came over and mentioned that he heard I was inspired by The Aviary and they took us on a private tour with the bar team and then down to the ice making room, which I LOVED because I was obsessed with the intricate ice making process from the original cocktail books. What a fantastic experience, and the tour put a cherry on top. Long live The Aviary!

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.
