This success has me ready to invest in a meaningful piece the Rolex GMT-Master II "Bruce Wayne" something I can wear every day as a reminder of the grind and eventually pass down to my kids as a family heirloom. Jeff Kaufmann was fantastic. He was super nice, took his time with zero pressure, and thoroughly explained every detail of the Bruce Wayne, including exactly how to set and use the three time zones on the GMT function. His patience and knowledge made me feel like a valued client rather than just another name on the list. I specifically requested the ring that my girlfriend liked, and had a request to bring in 2 others to help me pick out the ring. I got a confirmation email, and radio silence until the day before the appointment. The day before the appointment, I was again asked what ring I wanted, and can only bring one other person to view the rings. Concerned, so I tried calling. This was when I learn that it is impossible to call specific stores. The number goes straight to a call center. When I asked if I can talked to the store directly to confirm that they have the ring I was interested in, they said the store would call me back same day. They never did. Finally the day of the appointment, about an hour before, I finally got a phone call from a less enthusiastic person, Emely. She stated that they had the ring, and I could bring two others. At this point it was too late and I already told my 2nd person they couldn't come. When I arrived at the appointment on time, Emely was not there until about 5 minutes later. Again with the lack of enthusiasm. She walked us to her desk, and showed us the ring we were interested in, along with a few other comparables. They only had larger size rings to show. When asking basic questions, we got a bunch of "I don't know" and "I guess" response. Really soured our mood when ring shopping. Finally when we were wrapping up, I asked if there were any number I could call if I had any questions. She said to just email her, but she was not responsive to emails before. The lack of enthusiasm and responses gives me concerns to purchase the engagement ring here.

Within one week of the repair, 3 diamonds fell off the band. I called immediately and they asked me to bring it back in. When I brought it back in, I received no apology or accountability. They said the diamonds fell off due to wear on the ring, and it had nothing to do with their work. They also said that because the ring was cut off, it would never be the same and this will continue to happen. If I had known that, I wouldn't have paid $350 to repair the ring to begin with. They initially tried to charge me for the repair, but begrudgingly agreed to repair it "just this once" at no cost. When I received the ring for the second time, there is still a gap between diamonds, to which they said, "that's where it was cut and that's how it will look. It's not due to our work." I would have appreciated and - quite frankly, expected a respected jeweler - to tell me that before I went through the repair process. Very disappointed in the service and quality of the work I experienced.

Heard about this jewler on Yelp and needed to get my pearl ring secured onto the band as it was coming loose. He was the sweetest, kindest and most professional jewler I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He saw the problem immediately and walked me through the steps he was going to take to make sure my ring would stay intact. Due to my work and weekend constraints I wasn't able to pick up my ring until a month or two later. I called to make sure all was ok since I was neglectful in picking it up and he reassured me during every call that it was not a problem. He even threw in a free ring cleaning. I finally came back to get it yesterday and he had it ready waiting for me. Simonian is the best custom jeweler you can find in the Montgomery County and DC area. He really makes one of a kind pieces. My fiancée and I got our engagement and wedding jewelry from him. He was able to make it just how we wanted it, and in a timely matter. His customer service is top notch, honestly he does not try to sell you anything you don't want to buy. He's not pushy or aggressive like the big retail store jewelers. He literally will make anything that you want as long as you explain to him what you like and/or show him an example of it. Even though I was doing this at the last minute, Mr. Simonian made it happen. He was professional and courteous, and I was confident that the wedding ring was in good hands. Jacques Simonian did an amazing job repairing the shank on my diamond and sapphire engagement ring when it snapped. The ring looks better than it did before and is now more sturdy. The repair was done in a timely manner and at half the cost of the two national chain jewelry stores that I consulted (Jared's and Mervis). Jaque also didn't try to sell me on unnecessary repairs such as replacing the side diamond on the ring. As icing on the cake, he gave my twin daughters lolly pops and patiently answered their questions about the tiaras he has for sale in his shop. All around a perfect experience! read more

I came to Mr. Simonian with a ring which my daughter inherited from her grandmother. One of the four diamonds had fallen out and when Mr. Simonian looked at it he said the prongs had broken. He agreed to match the stone but advised he would not recommend wearing the ring afterwards unless the prongs on the other 3 stones were also replaced. When I stated I would need the ring in time for my daughter's birthday, Mr. Simonian hesitated but then agreed to the task. I only came in with 3 small repairs to some necklaces whose only value is sentimental. he was respectful and helpful - despite the low valued items - and took care of the 3 minor repairs while I waited. his price was very fair and work very good. his respect and workmanship on this kind of work shows a maturity and customer orientation which would bode very well for anyone looking to buy or repair something more valuable. read more

Let me start out by saying Mr. Simonian is AMAZING!! I went to the store because my daughter got a ring stuck on her finger. Initially the ring was going to be cut off with the typical ring cutter but because of the hard metal the everyday ring cutter didn't work. Mr. Simonian had to saw the ring off instead. Needless to say this was an extremely scary moment for my daughter, but he was very patient and gentle with her. I will definitely be returning to the store! read more

I went here to get an engraving on the back of a watch I purchased for a friend. Service was professional and prompt. Engraving was done perfectly. Worked with me to make sure I had the correct number of letters that would fit on one line on that particular watch. I would give them zero stars if that was an option…read more They destroyed my platinum and diamond ring. I stated very clearly and emphatically that I did not want my rings cut. I just wanted the retentive beads added back to the intaglio surface to help prevent my rings from rotating. I had previously had the retention beads but had Greenan remove the beads when I gained weight. W. Greenan even placed a drawing of what I wanted on the envelope. They got so focused on the size of the ring instead of my desire to JUST add the beads (like I had before). What did they do? They cut my rings. :-( Now, the diamond setting is so heavy because the cut (replaced) band is so much lighter it can't counter the weight of the setting. So now my diamond rotates worse than before and stays in the palm of my hand. I have used Greenan and Sons for the past 20 years for all my fine jewelry needs. I even sent friends to them for their engagement rings. Disappointment doesn't adequately describe how I feel right now. When I pointed out my concerns, nothing but rationalizations and talk about size again. Walt Greenan argued with me and stated that he called to get my approval when he did not. He called to say the rings were ready for pick up. If he had NOT gone on ad nauseum about his foot/boot and Thanksgiving with his family that included his ex, he would have heard and understood my request, his customer's request. I thought I could have a more rational conversation with the younger Greenan who was in the store when I brought my rings in and also heard my request for my rings not to be cut. I pointed out that the weight of the engagement ring was grossly different. The band had been cut, and the rings prongs and band had been overly polished so that the prongs had been burnished and the ornate scribing of the band had been completely removed. He, too, was a hot head. He also went on to state that the ring had to be cut to be sized. I DID NOT ASK for the RING to be SIZED. I asked for the beads to be added. He handed my rings back to me. He stated he wasn't going to argue with me and marched off. All I asked for were for the retentive beads to be added to my rings, nothing else. I am thankful I have 2 previous appraisals with photos for my next steps. Greenan and Sons are not what they used to be, not in customer service and not in craftsmanship.

I used them myself in the past after inheriting a number of pieces and they made me several lovely updated pieces, using the stones I had. Now it's my son's turn - he is getting engaged and I took him to see Vin so we could talk about the rings his girlfriend inherited and about turning them into an engagement ring and later the wedding bands. The whole family who runs this place is fantastic to work with! They gave my son honest feedback about what would be the best option about doing custom work versus fitting the gems into a ready-made setting. They made it affordable with some financing, and all in all, it was a great experience, just as I knew it would be! And she said YES!!! Have walked by this place several times. I recently had a necklace break and I decided to stop in…read moreto see if they could fix it. The woman who greeted me handed it to the jeweler on site and gave me a price of $80 to fix it. That seemed exorbitant and so I decided to shop around for the fix. I literally drove 2 miles and got the necklace fixed for $35. This small interaction is really all I need to know I won't be going back. I'm all for businesses making money but this is just gross. Do not recommend, unless you're into getting fleeced. Because I can't give it a zero, the business got a 1.
