Had an 11am appointment and the clinic called at 10:50 to ask me to come two hours later due to being behind. I showed up at 1 as requested and they asked me to come back at 3. I have yet to be seen for my actual appt because they've had issues every single time I've gotten to my appts. First time I never received a call and walked into my appt only to be told my appt got cancelled due to an issue with my insurance. Would've been nice to get a call at least 24 hours before I walked through the doors but whatever. Called my insurance got the approval that was apparently necessary to get beforehand. This takes 1.5 months. Ok so we're good now right? Re-schedule and again and unfortunately the MRI machine breaks down same day and I have to reschedule my appt AGAIN! I can't just reschedule whenever I want. I travel and work and have plans for months in advance. How in the world am I supposed to get seen at this imaging facility with all of these issues. I am a physician, and I would NOT recommend SimonMed Imaging at all. Horrible experience sorting out billing issues. I spent hours with four failed attempts to correct issues over the phone by talking to their centralized and outsourced billing department. Next, I tried to solve the issue in person at the site of services- 2502 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix AZ- to no avail: - "No one at site to deal with prior service/billing." - I requested to speak to the site supervisor; "not in". - As a physician I requested a professional courtesy follow up call; has not occurred to date. read more

This is the worst place I have ever been in my life. For this to be a medical facility is actually sort of scary. The front desk staff has absolutely no idea what they're doing. I came in for an x-ray when I had a broken clavicle and was told the wait was 30 minutes so after waiting 30 minutes then I was told the way it was probably going to be three hours. I was told to go to the Scottsdale Fashion Square location and when I got there that location was not doing x-rays. The next morning I went back to the Biltmore location. I waited about 45 minutes and went in for my x-ray. The front desk clerk did not write in my chart that a clavicle x-ray was supposed to be done, so the technician only did the shoulder. Luckily the technician knew what she was doing and caught the error before I actually left the building. Will never go back to a SimonMed location again. read more

Went the the fashion square location yesterday, and 20 minutes into my mri the machine broke. Rescheduled at the biltmore location for the next day at 3:30. Showed up at 3:15 as I was supposed to and was told to come back in an hour because they had problems with the machine and the tech was now running behind. Well it's 4:45 and was just told I probably won't be called back for another 30 minutes. I understand problems with equipment but maybe call and let people know if there is going to be a significant delay to their appointment time especially in the middle of a work day. If you need a same-day appointment, they have them. 4) Payment plans. Update: filed a complaint with the BBB. Waiting for it to be resolved. They responded with the note that they looked into it and apologize for the inconvenience. Now waiting for a refund. What an ordeal. Will never go back. The overall scans and technicians were great. The people were friendly and my services were on time. This review is about their shady billing practices. I went in on the day of my service and asked for the cash price versus running it through insurance. The cash price was over $100 less, so I PAID THE CASH PRICE. Then THEY made the mistake and ran it through my insurance anyway. Now they are trying to bill me the difference saying it is now the patient responsibility. I called and they said that there was nothing that they could do even though it was their error. read more

I have been to this office multiple times for exams. The staff is not courteous not friendly. I arrived today at 3:30 to get one neck x-ray and they declined me service because they said there was a lady with multiple x-rays. I left work 45 minutes early to get in line to have an x-ray. There was no one in the waiting room. They said that the x-ray tech couldn't take me because she had multiple x-rays with one patient. Like I said before I had one x-ray to take. They were rude very condescending. I do not recommend this place and it's dirty. And to top it off the place does not close for x-rays until 430. I'm am currently writing this as I sit here waiting to be called back. I got a call from Cheyenne saying to come in early for my appt and they would get me in ahead of schedule. So far I've been sitting here for well over an hour. So much for being early and her only response was sorry for the confusion. I'm not confused I came in early because you left me a message to come in early. They have also told others to come in early only to tell them that they are now running behind. They told a patient she couldn't get her disc today due to the tech being behind, but she could drive 30 mins again and come back tomorrow. The next patient who came in wanted to know if she would get her disc today because they were running behind they said yes right after she was done with her scans. A woman from the back yelled to the front to make sure an appointment was canceled the front office girl said "yes of course I did" then proceeded to call the patient and cancel his appointment. The miscommunication in this place is unbelievable. Once I got in the back again zero communication from Megan the tec thank god I've had scans done before. What a nightmare this would have been if I had never had an MRI. I did have a question for her and she was very dismissive about my question. I should have known, I guess I'll just google it and ask my doctor. Look I work in the health field I know what it's like seeing patients back to back to back and to run behind but this is unacceptable. I read every review that has been left (because I had so much time) and I agree with all of them DO NOT COME HERE unless you have all the time in the world to wait and don't care about communication. If I could leave zero stars I would. I was referred by my doctor due to his machine being down never again will I come to any Simon med. Yikes. I had a doctor ordered X-Ray for my foot. I was told to call to schedule from my doctor. I called to schedule- was told I did not need an appointment could just walk in. I asked if I could schedule an appointment that way I didn't have to wait was told no just walk in. Here we are, I am currently sitting in the waiting room (with 15 other people) where I was told the wait would be an hour. However, the problem is when it comes to sending the result over to my family doctor. Seven months later and this location still owes me over $250. They over billed and overcharged me for several mri's and acknowledged this many times, but have yet to refund my money. I have notified my insurance company of insurance fraud and still nothing has been done. I have gone back and forth on the phone with them for months with different departments, with emails, sent in my own Insurance EOB's which they already have. Refund my money. How sad. They have the worst customer service set up with 30 to 45 minute hold times on the phone and then the information they gave on two separate occasions was wrong and even gave me numbers that circled back to where I started with the first question. But far worse is that I can't access my records, and I have serious doubts about their quality, based on poor report quality seen on my husbands scans. My husband never even received his kidney ultrasound results (nor did his provider). SimonMed screwed up my online account, and no one is either capable or cares enough to fix it. I have received a diagnosis from imaging/data that I can't access. I've spent hours with SimonMed online and been told 4 different reasons for the problem, but no solution. I even received a phone number to call for assistance - too bad it had been disconnected. Mediocre would be a major step up for this place. read more

I asked if I could make an appointment so that this didn't happen again. Yes, but it doesn't guarantee that I will be seen at the reserved time because they take walk ins. Really. Geez, if maybe the gal at the desk had looked up when I walked in and asked if I was here for a walk in I could have skipped 10 minutes in a line. And, if she would have apologized for the wait and for not being able to take my X-ray at 3 in the afternoon. I wish I could walk out of work before 3pm. I had already waited fruitlessly for almost three hours at one of the Mesa locations on Saturday, so I asked "Are you sure it will really be 30 minutes?" "Yes." I came back in 25 minutes. They said it will be another 20 minutes because they "took someone else back." We'll see if that happens. If I ever need x-rays again I'll ask my doctor to send me somewhere else." A single star is generous. I am a healthcare provider, and this diagnostic facility is a terrible extension and representation of a medical community that must be founded on professional responsibility, knowledge accountability, concern, and empathy. The front desk staff member was rude, disconnected, and made no attempt to perform any task, or service for that matter, beyond her computer work, scanning, and COVID-19 questions. I am certain it is in her job description to facilitate a smooth customer experience, including answering questions and providing guidance (or finding answers), as necessary. She did not fulfill any of these simple expectations, for me or for most of the other customers who were waiting. Although the exam tech was reasonably pleasant, none of the other five staff members I encountered in passing said hello or smiled. I understand that the facility encounter is acute and fleeting, but you are not a mini-mart. These are not customers at a gas station or car wash. These are people. These are YOUR PATIENTS. You are providing a service to them (and a critical one at that), not the other way around. No one goes to a diagnostic center because they are well and, certainly, there is significant anxiety in some cases. Your service and staff behavior should reflect this. A major shift in your facility culture is severely warranted. read more

This company is very frustrating to work with. I had a procedure on 9/10/21. Medicare denied my claim so I paid Simon Med the full amount they charged. I appealed to Medicare and they reversed their decision. So Medicare paid Simon Med and said the maximum I could be billed was a much smaller amount than the amount I paid. I asked Simon Med to refund me the amount I paid less the maximum amount I could be charged according to Medicare. I received an email from Simon Med on 11/20/22 that I would be receiving this refund. The refund amount is $511 and change - not an insignificant amount, especially for me a retiree. I have not received the refund despite calling numerous times. Each time I'm told that the refund is "pending". It's unfair that Simon Med has collected money from me as well as Medicare for the same procedure. I'm sure there's someone at Simon Med who could send me my refund If they felt like it. I rarely review online, and I haven't even had my MRI yet, but the incompetence I've encountered is over the top. I made an appointment online for an MRI, which required me to enter the specific MRI I need, and I chose a location, as directed. I got a confirming email that asked me to complete some online forms before my appointment, but the link in the email was broken. Three days later I was informed that they can't perform the imaging I need at the location I chose and asked me to reschedule. The man who rescheduled me insisted I give him all of my insurance information again, even though it was in their system, which was annoying, but he made me a new appointment. Two days later I got a voicemail asking me to reschedule again due to "an equipment issue," so I called once again. I eventually reached a woman who did not ask me for my insurance information, but cut me off when she put me on hold. I called back and this time got the first guy again. When he started to ask for my insurance information and insisted he was required to do that, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After about 5 minutes on hold, I spoke to a supervisor and explained my frustration. He apologized, said he would coach the employee who mistakenly thinks he needs to reask for insurance info to reschedule, and booked my appointment at a third location. He also resent me the link to the forms, and this time it worked. I was flabbergasted 45 minutes later to receive yet another voicemail. Seems my new appointment was at a location (selected by the *supervisor*) that didn't have the necessary equipment! Once more I called. This time the woman apologized and wondered why they hadn't selected a location closer to my home. She rebooked me and, at my request, double checked to be sure they could do my MRI at this, the 4th site they've chosen for me. I am not optimistic, and I sincerely hope they are better at doing MRIs than they are at scheduling them. I will not use Simonmed again and will describe my experience to my doctor. read more

Beyond unorganized. Not only did they lose my wife's paper work. She had an Ultra Sound done 9/28 and we are now 10/22 and they have not given us or our doctor the results. And when you call they are so rude. And liars. One week after the US I called and asked for the results and lady on the phone said they faxed it over. LIES. I have been speaking to my wife's doctor and staff and they have been called numerous time and they have claimed the same thing that SimonMed "faxed" it over. I have this guy feeling that since they last her paper work the day of the US they probably lost her results. Damn shame. I've had a few MRI/CT scan sessions at Simon Med between 2021 & 2022, so today was not my first time at the "rodeo" as far as this process. Prior to today, my most recent MRI/CT scan was done at the 3rd St & Thomas location (using one of the SAME newer/larger/faster machines). I've already spoken with corporate at this point (hours ago), but I'm deciding to share the experience on here as I ABSOLUTELY would have avoided this location had I read about an experience that was even REMOTELY close to what I experienced during todays visit. I'll just get right to it & say that the guy who ran my scans today (Brian) was EXTREMELY rude & quite possibly racist. Not sure what he had going on, but his attitude was off ever since he came out to the lobby to bring me back for the session. From the very beginning of today's visit all the way until the very end, his tone was VERY short, his demeanor was VERY nasty (which was UNACCEPTABLE), & having a "bad day" certainly wouldn't be an excuse for his behavior as my appointment was literally scheduled first thing in the morning. He never gave me a hospital gown prior to going into the machine (which was something I promptly received during ALL of my previous visits), & he just treated me differently than I was treated during my previous visits to other Simon Med locations (2830 N 3rd Street & 2141 E Camelback Rd). He didn't do the whole "How are you doing in there? Are you feeling ok?" thing at all during my scans (which they did at BOTH of the other locations), he lacked any level of compassion whatsoever & he was VERY rough/aggressive. Upon entering the scanning room (with ALL clothes on, since he never bothered to offer me a hospital gown [as stated]), Brian's actions confirmed just how uninterested he was in providing me with the same level of service that he would provide to other patients. He stood there asking me questions that I had already answered via the online check-in form AND on the order that my doctor would have submitted. As I took my shoes off before entering the machine, he roughly KICKED both shoes under the table as if he was purposely trying to scuff them. When I SLOWLY raised my arm (at HIS request) so he could administer the IV, he LURCHED away from me as if an alligator was attacking him. He only gave me the emergency "clicker" after I asked him for it, & throughout the session, he kept stopping & telling me there was "too much movement" when I was literally immobilized in a "Saw trap-like" head device that prevented me "moving" hardly AT ALL (outside of BREATHING & natural swallowing reflexes that any normal human would make [even WITHOUT bilateral Bell's Palsy & SEVERAL previous throat surgeries]). Let me be 100% clear in saying that I did NOTHING different between my previous visit & this visit & I had NO issues during prior visits, yet this guy kept saying there was "too much movement" & was just making the (ALREADY stressful) process of scanning for two possible tumors so much more difficult than it needed to be. As stated, this was NOT my first time at the "rodeo" & this was the SAME type of device/machine used during prior visits. God-forbid if a child ever had to deal with this guy, as he was asking me to do things that most ADULTS can't even do (unless they're just laying there DEAD). I literally had to stop & say "Brian, I DONT KNOW HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN DOING THIS, but I'm literally laying in this machine breathing" as he apparently expects people to get in this machine & hold their breath for 30+ minutes. Altogether, Brian's behavior took what should have been a SIMPLE process (which I purposely scheduled FIRST THING IN THE MORNING [before heading to work]) & turned it into a complete nightmare. It truly saddens me to see Brian's name in other 1-star Yelp reviews for this location (dating back SEVERAL years), as it seems that Simon Med doesn't care about how poorly he treats patients of a certain demographic & Simon SURELY would have replaced him by now if they cared. As a result of all the above, I will ensure that I stick with the Thomas Rd. location or ANY location other than this one after what I endured today, & it's sad that I even have to go to this extent as this is the closest Simon Med location to my home. Regardless, I'll GLADLY make that sacrifice just to avoid a repeat of what I experienced today, & the fact that I'm willing to drive THREE TIMES the distance (with gas at $6 /gal) just to avoid being subjected to this level of ignorance/incompetence/racism again should give you an idea of just how bad it was. Based on my own observation, I highly doubt that Simon Med will make any adjustments at this location or take any action, but hopefully my little review will at least encourage SOMEONE to skip this location & AVOID being subjected to what I was subjected to this morning. Brian's behavior was unacceptable in every sense of the word, & he makes this entire company look bad. This location has 2 stars for a reason. read more

Simon med has been a nightmare. I made an appointment for a diagnostic mammogram and ultra sound for a mass. Was able to get in quickly however, was sent to the wrong location. Was told I needed to go to biltmore. Arrived at biltmore they had pushed my appointment back because of the misinformation given to me. Filled paperwork signed in everything was going well until the receptionist calls me over and tells me am at the wrong location yet again. I said well you guys just told me she pushed my appointment so I could get it done. Then the receptionist tells me well you're at the wrong location and she is running behind so we need to reschedule you. Excuse me? I walked out. Called scheduling again they had the gall to tell me next available would be a month out! I could be dead by then! Needless to say I am no longer going to Simon med after going to them for literally years and never had an issue. It is no longer the same company it was before. My requisition for these procedures were faxed twice to them from my doctor's office and they still couldn't find the requisition. That alone should of been my first clue on how inept they are at scheduling and their receptionist are just as bad. Go somewhere else if you want to avoid a nightmare. read more

Had a horrible experience today at SimonMed in the Biltmore Fashion Park. The facility was extremely dirty, staff was rude and unhelpful, and the ultrasound technician made me feel very uncomfortable. You could also easily hear doctor/patient conversations from the lobby area. This office needs a wake-up call as a medical office should not be dirty in general, let alone during a pandemic. I am discouraged that I was unable to obtain the tests that I needed because of poor communication between the staff and how they made me feel in their facility. read more
