They charged $100 at the appointment even when they could see my copay was $0. When I asked about it they said they would automatically refund any over payment. 4 months later after all the billing was finalized and they had received the payment from my insurance they never sent it refund. I had to call and initiate the refund. Be sure you keep track of how much these people are charging you and make sure you dont overpay. They will try to steal from you. read more

I had an early appointment at 8:30am and was seen relatively quickly compared to what others have experienced at this location. I believe it was only 20minutes of waiting if that. The ultrasound tech if that's the correct way to label him was amazing and comforting given I was getting a sensitive ultrasound done. He had classical music while conducting the ultrasound. I know others have had negative experiences, but mine was positive. I highly recommend that you complete all of your online documents and anything they ask for in advance to save time and choose an earlier appointment if applicable. That could be the sweat spot. Good luck if you try to actually speak to someone. You will be transferred to a call center in the Philippines where people can read the standard answers off a script. I was told my MRI results would be back in about 3 days. Well 7 days later still nothing. When I call for information , half the time they transfer me to medical records which had a recorded voice tell me to go online and then disconnects the call. Do you like managing your own care? Enjoy waiting weeks for x-ray results and having to have your provider call on your behalf to get results for you? Then this is the place for you! I initially went to FastMed to have x-rays run after a car accident. Unfortunately, their x-ray tech was not there that day. I was sent to this lovely place instead to get them taken. The one positive I will say is that the front desk receptionist was extremely nice. That's where my compliments end. I waited over an hour to be seen for what amounted to five minutes of work. After that I waited patiently for the results to be uploaded to MyChart. I was told it should only be a few days tops. A week later, no results. I called them and talked to a guy who asked me to repeat information I had just told him multiple times. He seemed very confused and I had a bad feeling about him being able to help me. Eventually he said he would fax over the x-rays to my doctor (why wasn't that done in the first place?). I asked if he could tell me the results over the phone since I had waited so long for them. I was told due to HIPPA he could not. Fast forward: another week with no results. I finally went back to FastMed and asked if they had received any results. Of course they hadn't. I had to have them call on my behalf for results to finally be sent over. God forbid I had been seriously injured from the accident or need treatment based on those results. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. If you are sent there by a doctor, make sure you choose a different location! read more

Appointment was at 12:30, receptionist informs me they are backed up and to come back in 2hrs. Returned after waiting over 2hrs to have the receptionist say "I don't know whats going on, its going to be a lot longer of a wait" Poorly run business, very unprofessional receptionist working on 5/30 around 2:30pm. Management needs to correct their processes and sceduling issues and have the receptionist reach out to patients if there is back office issues that affect being able to do their jobs. Half day wasted. This is a 2nd reschedule after they screwed up the sceduling a week before this. read more

About the Ahwatukee and Ahwatukee North locations....don't bother. Over 2 days, 3 times, met with rude sullen desk people that tell me the line is too long and xrays end at 3:30. The second day, I arrived at 3:19, checked the website from OUTSIDE the door and it said there were 0 people waiting. Went inside 3:20 now and Miss Congeniality at the desk says there were "many" people in line so they wouldn't take me. Watch your EOBs people... this company has owed me money for months now after my insurance covered services that I paid for in person, I've called customer service multiple times and they "escalate" and "follow up" with the dept that reviews refund but they haven't given final approval for it yet. It's been 4 months. Make sure you check if they owed you money the only reason I found out was because I check all my EOBs from my insurance I had to call THEM. Completely wasted my whole day and they didn't seem to care. I confirmed with them twice that I was scheduled at this location for a biopsy after being rescheduled from another location because they didn't do biopsies. So I take my meds, arrange for transportation, arrive, check in, pay my $300 and let them know I'll call my doctor's office to help them out because the order doesn't state what side they want biopsied. Get off the phone with my doctor and they call me up to tell me they don't do biopsies in this location and I'll have to reschedule to another location. What?!?! What?!?! I was already rescheduled to this location. Give me my money back, I'm done. Then she can't refund the money she just took from me, nope gotta call corporate for that. What a unique experience. This location has the kindest staff i have ever seen in an MRI imaging center. Denica could not have been more friendly and accommodating at the desk, while Trish (technician) went out of her way to make an uncomfortable experience more comfortable. Horrible. I was scheduled at 1045 for an MRI of my ankle. After nearly 2 hours, I was finally called back. Finished the MRI around 115. This place is dirty from the floor, walls and MRI machine. The waiting room is not monitored at all. There is loud music playing and It's super chaotic. It's a dump. Front office staff and tech were the only saving grace of this place. Oh no way will I ever use this facility again!!! First of all I was grateful for the opening of a earlier appointment compared to the weeks I would have to wait from other places. I had a late evening appointment for 8 pm. Never will I book a late appointment, you are dead last and treated badly! I arrived early as indicated to fill out paperwork. There were 4 people in the waiting area, I'm assuming 2 to a party because that's how they went into the back room. Any other place it's only the patient allowed to enter the waiting room & lab area. Due to COVID I don't think those rules were followed. Another guy came in the meantime while I was waiting. Apparently he arrived super early and waited in his car? So I went after him which turned out to be seen at 9:20pm. Never again! I learned my lesson. To add to that the receptionist was one heck of a B to deal with. Halfway through me waiting she calls me up to tell me I have to pay the full price of the MRI because she couldn't verify the insurance. I said to her that don't you first find out about the insurance when I made the appointment a week ago and gave the insurance information over the phone?! She said that they don't check until you come in for your visit. I never heard of that? She said it was to late to call because it was after 5pm. Well duh my appointment was for 8pm. You would think there would be a better system verifying the insurance. She said I needed to pay upfront or reschedule for Monday, it was Friday. I was crunched for time for the results and that didn't help me. I was upset that I wasn't informed about payment on the phone the week before. My hands were tied I had no choice but to fork over $480.00 dollars to pay for the MRI. She said Simon Med put a memo out that no verification required full payment but couldn't find the memo. We had a bit of a heated discussion and she told me next time don't use Simon med! Well that was uncalled for and I got on my phone and she told me I needed to go outside the waiting room to use my phone. Well I did and when I came back she was on the phone with her supervisor and I had to wait for her to finish her conversation. Her boss suggested a payment plan or reschedule. By that time I was fed up and just paid it! It was late like I said earlier, not being seen until 9:20pm for an 8pm appointment. The when I went for the MRI I thought my doctor was having 2 areas done for the MRI and the technician said he only has one order and I said I was surprised the doctor ordered only one?! Well low and behold, more saga to this drama. I saw my doctor the following week and asked him about having 2 MRI's done. He said yes he ordered it and proceeded to show me the orders. Well guess what the technician was WRONG! What idiots! So done with this place, never ever had to deal with such incompetency! read more

I had an appointment for an MRI. I was greeted by Megan and she was very helpful with paperwork. The tech Trish was also very nice! It was her first day. I started coughing during the middle of one MRI and she kindly stopped the machine and went out of her way to get me a glass of water. Thank you again Trish and Megan! Mistake in schedule appointment cost me two months delay for ankle exam. Now we have pain and more inflammation

Appointment at 3. Arrived at 230. At 4pm I asked what the hold up was. The response was that the phone schedulers should have told me that there was a wait bc the person before me had a 2 hour procedure. Wtf? Then why was my appointment scheduled when there was not availability?? I had to arrive to this appointment with a full bladder adding to the insult. At 420 I was taken back for a 3pm scheduled appointment. The walls when they take you back are all visibly dirty. Unacceptably dirty and soiled to the point where I felt uncomfortable- this did not leave me confident about hygiene or infection control measures here. Now onto more fun. I was told my charges were $550 for an ultrasound because I had not yet met my deductible. Hmmm. This is strange........my plan does not have a deductible. I asked them to please check again. The front desk insisted it was correct. They offered to break up the balance into installments if I could not pay in full today. I insisted something was incorrect- that they were preferred providers and I should owe a $40 copay. I brought up my insurance plan on my phone and showed them. They agreed to re-verify my insurance. Suddenly I owe $40. I work in healthcare and will tell you that this place is an absolute train wreck- facility wise, scheduling, billing. To say I would not recommend this place is an understatement. I would pay money not to return. read more

Right now my issue is with their billing department, which is a 3rd party.. I had an mri on my hip. Workmans comp claim. They are not coming after me and they have the incorrect information or at least their billing dept does. 2nd time in 2-3 mos they have contacted me. ONE this is ILLEGAL to contact me on a bill for workmans comp. I have called the adjuster 2 times now. The claims rep has be in contact with SMI, they need the report which SMI has yet to provide to approve the claim. SMI has the correct info but are failing to send it to this 3rd party billing company. If they continue to contact me instead of doing thei job and inputting the correct info. I will be looking into legal resources. Incompetency on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on mine. The claims representative is contacting today via phone and will be sending a letter as to how they are illegally contacting me.. They also have a horrible BBB record as well. read more

Kinda dirty. Employees don't look exactly 'thrilled' to be there. Imagine that; gainfully employed, having a regular paycheck with what I thought was a good company...hard to figure if it's just the general disposition of the staff or are the working conditions such that it's an unpleasant place to be employed? Anyway, I was there at 6:30 am. If the bathrooms are this nasty at the beginning of the day, I can't imagine what they're like at closing time.(I'm just thinking to myself that it seems I write a lot of Yelp reviews in which I mention the restrooms, sorry 'bout that, guess I'm a bit germaphobe....but makes me think about whether or not the employees wash their hands & stuff. Seems that there are so many businesses where there's no 'ownership'. Do they not include that anymore in the employee manual?) MRI table looked like it could use a good wipe-down and the machine itself really could do with a good scrubbing(at least the outside-jeez, you guys!!)perhaps a new 'paint job'(?). If it looks old and worn out from the outside-in a DARK room-it gives me pause to think about whether routine maintenance is being performed for such a big-deal piece of equipment. Good thing they gave me the thing to ring the bell if I needed to stop test...I couldn't tolerate even 30 seconds! Back to the staff: I actually almost think that they really would be happier if more ppl can't tolerate bc the way I was treated: bum-rushed onto a cold table, ZERO pleasantries that probably would have made me less anxious while locked in the room with my head & shoulders in the small, claustrophobia-inducing tube, no offers for music w special headphones, no talking about what to expect, how long it would take-hell, they didn't even say to keep still! I had open MRI a little over a year ago, not with SimonMed, and it was a really great experience. Sucks when insurance changes. read more

Went for a chest x ray. Gave them my name then waited and waited. Ask the front desk what time I checked in and was told I hadn't been checked in yet. Got to the x ray room and was chewed out by the tech for "not wanting to take my turn". I found the staff uncaring and unfriendly at best and downright hostile at worst. Cannot recommend check them out very carefully before you go. If I could give 0 stars I would. Filed a complaint with the BBB and asked for a response, nothing. There are places out there that treat you with respect and not like an inconvenience. As a side note go to indeed.com and find out what employees think of them. The way employees are treated is a good way to judge how you will be treated. read more
