I saw all the negative reviews about SimonMed Imaging. I will admit that when I went to the RWC office, they told me they don't do x-rays on Wed. This was not clear on their website. Also, I got too many calls and texts from them to come in. The RWC receptionist told me that I could go to the Montainview office. It's very close to my gym so I went. Based on all the negative reviews re: rudeness, long waiting time, etc. I expected the worst. I couldn't have been more wrong. The receptionist, Audrey, I believe, was warm and friendly, and so was the x-ray tech, Kathrina. I didn't even have to wait a minute. They took me right in. In fact, Kathrina was so friendly we ended up talking for about 10 minutes after the x-ray (which went very smoothly and professionally) was over (no one else was waiting for an x-ray). I ended up having a VERY positive experience, contrary to so many of these reviews. read more

Our doctor referred us to SimonMed for shoulder MRI. Despite the numerous one star reviews, we foolishly booked the appointment. The facility feels old, the MRI machine was 60 cm opening, extremely narrow and claustrophobic. This is NOT a state-of-the-art facility. We did not proceed with the MRI, left the facility and booked at a hospital that was a far better experience as they had wide bore MRI. This location does not offer wide-bore MRI machines (later opening), Called Customer service to find out if other SimonMed locations have wide-bore MRI, the person had no idea what I was talking about. Drove close to an hour to arrive at 8:15am for an 8:30am appointment as requested by them. Receptionist didn't arrive until 8:25am, she was very nice and polite though. Pretty sure the technicians didn't arrive until 9am and I didn't get called from the waiting room until 9:15am. 45 minutes of delay on their first customer of the day gives you an idea of why they're apparently always hours behind. The person preparing me for the MRI was also nice, but didn't bother to look at the chart I completed and asked me all the questions again. They also made me feel rushed to change. It looked like it was their first day as they were being chaperoned by another technician though. I didn't feel particularly comfortable between the cold room, non wide claustrophobic machine which forced me to awkwardly keep my arms close to me and hold steady for 15 minutes, and the fact I was unable to remove a piercing (absolutely my fault) for which they just placed tape on it and told "it should be fine" and to alert them if it pulled...You get earmuffs so don't expect music to keep your mind off of the loud clicking noises. At the end (around 9:45am, which had me late for work) they sent me on my way without the data CD requested in the order, and said the results would be sent to my doctor by end of day. Of course they weren't. I had to do another trip just to get the CD (after waiting some more because they unofficially close during lunch hours). We have yet to review the data so hopefully it's usable and I never have to go back to this place. EDIT: went through my explanation of benefits and realized this place also charged me $100 more than they should have. Bringing the review down to 1 star read more

Once again you have let me and my family down. We came here as a THIRD reschedule from locations all long the Bay Area. The first in Daly City was cancelled. The second in Redwood City was done incorrectly and now we're here and they said we do not have all the doctors information that was supposed to be gathered from Simon Imaging. The unprofessionalism is astounding because everyone who comes here has an issue like cancer and they can't seem to get their act together. I don't ever write reviews, but couldn't help with how upset I am about this situation. Would give it -5 stars if I could. Do all you can to stay away from this clinic. My son injured his wrist, I scheduled an arthrogram with them. During the scheduling, I made clear of it was anthrogram, and it was clearly stated on the doctor's order I sent over, which they confirmed receiving it on the phone. A week later they called me said they don't do Arthrogram. This caused a two weeks delay in the diagnoisis and a treatment for my son who is nationally bound in two sports. I should have listened to the other reviews and STAYED AWAY from this clinic. I really hope they go out of business for such poor service and making such carless mistakes. read more

Writing this for my husband who had a frustrating and disappointing experience this morning. Here is what he says, "I was early for my 9:00am MRI. I was told there was an hour delay. This was no internet available so I went to a coffee shop to try to work while I waited. After an hour I went back and was told the machine was "slow" so it could likely be another 30-45 minutes. They did not have cups for water. They took three times to find my vein and was in pain and i was in the MRI machine so nothing I could do.

Simon Med in the Bay area is horrible. I have spent 3 days trying to get an xray. supposedly X-rays are walk in, as I tried to schedule and they just said no, walk ins only, so come in. On Tuesday I went in to MV only to be told they weren't doing xrays this week, she told me to go to Santa Clara, as they were walkins only between 12-4. On Wednesday I drove to SC, at 12:30, only to be told they weren't doing X-rays that day. The attendant there told me to go to Los Gatos. I called the Los Gatos branch and convinced them to make me an appt after all the issues I have had, and they did so for this afternoon. Guess what, I just got another call from Los Gatos Simon med again, and was told they weren't doing X-rays today since the machine was down. So now, after running all over the Bay Area the last 3 days for nothing I must cancel my surgical follow-up because Simon Med can't seem to complete an x ray . Oh, one more thing, I had these same X-rays done a month ago, but Simon Med seems to have lost them as they never showed up in the portal and when asked about it, they told me they showed no record of it being done, yet, of course, the bill for the X-ray did come and was submitted By Simon med to insurance. Isn't that insurance fraud, they are my next call to report it as such. I Am done with Simon Med, I urge everyone else to avoid them as well read more

UNSAFE. My wife had an hour-long MRI and was not given headphones, just some earplugs. She could not hear well after the exam. Zero communication from the technician during the exams, she appeared to be watching a movie on her iPad. Find somewhere else. read more

Horrible experience for my mother. Not only were they one hour late but extremely rude. The lady was in a rush trying to find my mom's vein and pacing back and forth not communicating- she was in a horrible mood from the beginning. After seeing that she did not know what she was doing my mom decided to reschedule. She also told my mother to not reschedule at the same location. The receptionist and MRI staff were very nice, courteous, kind, and professional to myself and to all the other patients who came in. My appointment was at 9am. I came in early to fill out paperwork, and they took me for my MRI on time. The MRI staff asked and listened to where I had pain before the MRI. I appreciate his thoroughness beforehand, and his support helped the MRI go smoothly. Afterwards I asked for a CD to give to my doctor, and I received it in 5min. The lobby, bathroom, changing room, and MRI room are clean and neat. The location was easy to get to with ample parking. Door to their office faces South Drive. read more

This is a dishonest business and I recommend you go elsewhere for your MRI. Prior to my appointment I called and spoke with someone at SimonMed to verify what my out of pocket cost would be for my MRI, and I paid the full amount the day of the service. One month later I received a bill from Simon Med that was more than twice the original quoted service. When I called to speak to SimonMed to clear this up, I was told they could not help me and that they would transfer me to a billing specialist. I was then placed on an endless hold for more than an hour. I find SimonMed to be an unethical company and suggest you find another MRI provider. read more

When one tries to schedule appointment by phone you need to wait at least 20 min. I spent about 40min to schedule my appointment and it is not because of COVID time. The scheduler was very rude. She hanged up my calls and was yelling all the time. I had to call again and wait till she would pick up the line. While the service of med technicians are very good I am putting one star and leaving this review with hope that management could improve scheduling customer services. read more

I was essentially required to use this office by my insurance. I was the second patient of the day and already had to wait two hours to be seen, and no one bothered to give any of waiting an update or information. Now it's been weeks and my doctor has not received the results, and I can barely get in contact with this place. The staff will just leave early and not even answer phone calls during business hours. One time I did speak to someone and she just kept repeating schedule and appointment despite me telling her that's not why I called and when she agreed to transfer my call she actually just hung up. Technician has poor bedside manners. He doesn't tell you what to do or expect when you're in the MRI machine. He could tell I was nervous, but didn't try to reassure me at all. I got an MRI scan about 3 years ago at Sutter Health PAMF. The technician there was very helpful and empathetic. I was expecting the same level of care, but my experience at SimonMed Mountain View was extremely uncomfortable and frustrating. I'd recommend to avoid this location if you have to schedule an MRI at SimonMed. read more

Stay away. Simonmed has a lot of locations, but in all cases, you cannot talk directly with someone at the location and have to wait on hold for a long time to talk to a scheduler and there is no one to answer your questions that are location-specific. We were sent here from another location because they didn't have the staff available to do an MRI with contrast. NOT a COVID-safe facility or practice, and even though the dog was cute, didn't belong in a medical facility. The IV nurse inserted the IV for contrast, then left early to go to the DMV, leaving my husband with a new employee who lacked the confidence to re-do the IV when the original one clogged up after the first two MRIs without contrast. In the end, even when "backup" came, they couldn't get the IV restarted and said, "no big deal, just come back tomorrow" -- a 4-hour round trip for us. Not happy. read more

I called ahead to confirm pricing b/c I knew that I would be paying 100% due to a high deductible plan. I paid in full on the date of service and afterwards got another bill for a greater amount. I took my wife in for a mamo gram and ultra sound. At check in they told me I would need to use my credit card for the total charge of $510.00 for both procedures in case her United Health care didn't pay within 30 days, even though they are in the network, A few days later I logged into the United Health Care account and noticed Simon Med had bill the insurance over $1,100, Since we have a 20 percent co pay this doubled our out of pocket cost. He wouldn't bother to call my Uncle's cardiologist to check if his pacer is MRI safe. They were not busy at all. That is unprofessional. They don't care about their patients at all. I'm not exactly a radiology expert, having only a few experiences in my adult life, but out of the three I've had, this was about the most painless. Tech was friendly, machine was small enough that I didn't feel like I was being enshrined in a mausoleum. Given ugly gym shorts to wear, which was awesome, since the alternative is the peekaboo hospital gowns, LOVE that they don't use those. Four instead of five stars just because the front desk reception folks were a bit stiff and intense. But really, everything went well, and I'd go back again. read more

How do you review a place that does something so unpleasant, but necessary. I didn't enjoy my experience at all, but there was nothing they could done to change that. I had to get a MRI. During the MRI, I closed my eyes and imagined that I was in a club that only plays fast paced electronic music. This helped me for a while, but then I started to think about how terrible the DJ was. When I opened my eyes I was forced to face the reality of actually having a MRI exam. I wanted to leave a review though because the staff was very friendly and did everything they could. Either way, getting a MRI is not going to be fun. It's like trying to write a review for a clinic that gives prostate exams. The doctor could have done everything perfectly, but most likely you're not going to like it. Under the circumstances, SimonMed Imaging did everything they possibly could for me. read more

I got a MRI scan referred by my doctor, I opt for the Mountain View location as this location is closest to my home (they have multiple location the the Bay Area). I called to have my appointment and I was scheduled to be 4 business days later on a thursday which I guess isn't too bad. 2 days later I got a call from them saying their equipment has some problem and need to reschedule it to the next day, and then the next day I got the same call and has it postponed another day, 2 more calls later I'm now more than a week later than my initial appointment. Finally my appointment day comes and I have a 8:30 checkin and 9am Scan time and there's more delay. I'm still sitting in the waiting area as of writing of this at 9:30am, I'm another 30mins delayed at least How in a world a business can survive their equipment out of order for more than a whole week. They'll go out of business anywhere else. The only positive thing I can say is their reception staff is friendly and apologetic. read more

Go literally anywhere but here. This used to be the gold standard in the valley, it's now a rusty tin can being kicked around by the Keystone cops of management. Starting on the phone, you can't get through, they won't call you back, and then they'll schedule you for the wrong appointment on the wrong day at the wrong time. Then when you do show up for your appointment, I can't even tell you how long it takes, because after waiting for an hour and 40 minutes I gave up and made them reschedule my appointment.
