I got a MRI scan referred by my doctor, I opt for the Mountain View location as this location is closest to my home (they have multiple location the the Bay Area). I called to have my appointment and I was scheduled to be 4 business days later on a thursday which I guess isn't too bad. 2 days later I got a call from them saying their equipment has some problem and need to reschedule it to the next day, and then the next day I got the same call and has it postponed another day, 2 more calls later I'm now more than a week later than my initial appointment. Finally my appointment day comes and I have a 8:30 checkin and 9am Scan time and there's more delay. I'm still sitting in the waiting area as of writing of this at 9:30am, I'm another 30mins delayed at least How in a world a business can survive their equipment out of order for more than a whole week. They'll go out of business anywhere else. The only positive thing I can say is their reception staff is friendly and apologetic. read more

Go literally anywhere but here. This used to be the gold standard in the valley, it's now a rusty tin can being kicked around by the Keystone cops of management. Starting on the phone, you can't get through, they won't call you back, and then they'll schedule you for the wrong appointment on the wrong day at the wrong time. Then when you do show up for your appointment, I can't even tell you how long it takes, because after waiting for an hour and 40 minutes I gave up and made them reschedule my appointment. Please be aware - this place will keep you going in circles and try to force more expensive and unnecessary imaging tests in the last minute. They are so disorganized. I had 6 different calls from different front desk women and each one told me a different update about my appointment, test and required documents. I finally got fed up and just cancelled my appointment. So disappointed in how they wasted my time for nothing. The third time's a charm! I was originally scheduled for an MRI of my neck (to diagnose the source of a pinched nerve) last Thursday, but my condition made it too painful to lie down flat and stay motionless in the MRI machine. I cried "uncle" after 5 minutes (10 minutes short of the full scan). Your team was very understanding and rescheduled me to the very next morning. Armed with my pain meds (Tylenol + Aleve + Advil + Diazepam), I was back in the MRI machine Friday morning. But, again, after just a few minutes, I was in too much pain to continue. I needed stronger pain meds. I know you guys run a tight schedule, so I felt bad for having to reschedule me again. Long story short, my doctor prescribed Percocet, and I was finally able to lie down flat for the full 15 minutes this morning (Tuesday). Thank you for being patient and accommodating! This clinic is in desperate need of some leadership!! After a barrage of calls and emails instructing me to be at my appointment 30 minutes prior to my scheduled time, they dropped the ball in every way. I arrived as instructed to be told that "my machine" was behind and they wouldn't be getting me in for another 45 minutes. It would have been great to know this before I left work early to battle traffic at 5:30 PM. No apology. Just a pen shoved at me just in case I decide to go back there. I looked around... Back where? I asked. "Well if you decide you're going to stay." At the time I didn't understand the comment but as I sat there for over an hour waiting for my exam, I witnessed patient after patient coming in the door just to be told they weren't going to be seen tonight. One guy was returning for his third time. I'm disgusted at the laziness of the front desk person. She seemed about as educated as a second grader and has the personality of a limp noodle. I definitely expected better and would never suggest that someone use this clinic. Ever. There are 1000 imaging options in the valley. Pick any of the other ones... read more

SimonMed Mountain View's staff is very friendly. They treat clients with the utmost repect. They're patient with addressing any questions or concerns and they do an excellent job with keeping their clients informed about important information. As great as the experience in the scanner was, the radiologist missed an obvious finding which led to a 3 month diagnostic delay.

TL;DR - Avoid all SimonMed Imaging places if you can. Friendly staff and tech, but I waited 45 minutes for them to connect with my insurance plan, they said I was good to go, and then fast forward two weeks, I get a bill for $300+ dollars. This company consistently gets this feedback at all sites, so this is the norm and not the exception. I walked in here about two weeks ago to get an x-ray done on my knee, pretty simple stuff, they said I could walk in and so I did. The two intake folks in front were nice, they offered me coffee and took down my information. They told me that they were going to verify information with the insurance - pretty standard stuff. However, 10 minutes turned into 30 and then after 45 minutes of waiting (with no other customers ahead of me) they finally called me up and said that my insurance was good to go, it would be covered, and that i owed them nothing. Great, no surprise there, so they finally take me into the scanning area In the area, the techs were also nice and friendly - I didn't mind the 45 min wait to get in cause sometimes that how long it takes and I wasn't in a rush and most importantly, I wanted them to get it right, so I was in a great mood. I also didn't mind that the tech had to retake several of the pictures because they had forgotten to load the try where I put my knee against, then a few times they forgot to hand me the lead padding to protect myself from the x-rays - all of which weren't a big deal. Most yelpers out here think they're the king and queen and every minute cost them $500 dollars or something, but it wasn't a big deal at the time. On my way out, they said I could keep my fashionable x-ray shorts and before I left I checked in with the two people up front, one of which I overhead say was the manager to someone trying to solicit business with the group. I asked them if I owed them anything or if there was any other outstanding action items. They said no and I was on my way out. Today, I received a text saying that I owed them money and here's where the real problems occurred and why you should avoid this place: 1) the "Bill" that they sent me was actually a text saying you owe us money, but the link they sent was broken. 2) if you go on their website and enter your birthday and phone number to access your bill, you get forwarded to a dead end. 3) Their phone number for "customer service" only works every other time. I called four times and finally received a customer rep. 4) customer rep basically asked me for my insurance information over the phone, your member ID, group ID, all of that information (which means they didn't have it to begin with) and so my 45 minute wait was essentially pointless. 5) rep said I quote "the error was that your health insurance card says to bill the local Anthem office". ??? it says that clearly on the back "TO PROVIDERS". Meaning that only did the intake folks not capture my information, but that they didn't even read the back of my card after holding onto the thing for 45 minutes. This is also frightening given my insurance is one of the largest insurance providers and the supervisor wasn't familiar with the process. 6) I would have loved to think that my experience was an exception and not the norm - but if you read every single yelp page that SimonMed has and pulled a customer feedback summary, you'd see that my experience is the norm, and that good customer service and accurate billing is the exception. Now I have to wait 2-4 weeks for them to re-bill my insurance, even though I'm deathly afraid that they'll send my bill to collections because they'll "forget" again, or maybe the instructions on the card will change, not because I'm paranoid, but simply because customer feedback from other SimonMed pages show that that's the next tortuous pain point for customers who are going through the same thing I am. read more

Be careful with this imaging company. While the staff is courteous and professional they are uneducated about their own prices in what appears to be a money-hungry, slimy sort of way. Don't be surprised if you receive a bill in the mail for up to five or eight hundred dollars. They will try to blame this on your insurance - your particular plan's deductible etc. without ever taking any responsibility for their staff's misguidance. In other words, I wouldn't trust them again. They are slimy. read more

There are times when Yelp gets it wrong. Or else the staff has changed. Irregardless, I had a 5-star experience at the Mountain View branch of SimonMed Imaging. I arrived early and Audrey at the front desk luckily could get me in early. I had about a 10-minute wait time. The two techs, Irma and Lillon, were professional and had me through the entire experience in less than 20 minutes. I was really concerned about the low Yelp reviews but needed to be seen quickly and Mt. View had the first opening of the other branches. Maybe because of the bad reviews. Who knows? But now I can say they're the best kept secret. And my standards for medical care are way, way high. read more

I just had an MRI of my hip here today and have a little feedback to leave. First, the good stuff:) The staff were professional, pleasant and efficient. In particular, the tech that worked with me, "Mike", was kind, helpful, and capable. Here are the "constructive feedback" items: 1) the front desk people were blaring the radio way too loudly. Although it wasn't a matter of liking the choice of music or not (I actually liked most of it), it was distracting and took down the air of professionalism. Please trust me on this one. I am an RN and the loud music doesn't leave a good impression. Played more quietly and probably not rock n' roll would be better. Even my husband, who accompanied me to this appt. and loves loud music as a rule, complained about it. 2) I hadn't been told about the co-pay IN ADVANCE. Although I was able to pay the amount, the person who made the confirmation call to me about my appt or the original person registering me should have tried to at least ballpark the amount for me, ahead of time, so I knew what to expect. 3) (last one!) Pre-authorization for this MRI took an excruciating amount of time, over 10 days. I generally understand what's involved with the process, but as the need for my MRI was/is of a quasi-urgent nature, I almost went to the competition, which in this case was my local hospital (where they process pre-authorizations much more quickly). When I complained about this to the Simon Med representative upon being canceled for my first appt. for this MRI because pre-authoz hadn't gone through, there was an under-appreciation of my disappointment in being canceled as well as for why I was anxious about being delayed a whole additional week (I have severe pain). Anyhow, this type of delay of the pre-authoriz process will be something I'll take into account in the future if I'm in need of another MRI for something acute. I usually have all of my imaging done at PAMF, however, I am here because of a workers comp issue. My appointment check in was at 1:15pm, and I arrived at 1pm. The people at the front desk were so rude and said they're on lunch and told me to sit down. I'm sorry, but your door was open, and there was no sign saying you're out to lunch. Finally the checked me in, and they were so obnoxiously loud, talking about several patients and their issues, and then were on calls with doctors and insurance with the speaker phone on, allowing everyone and anyone to hear all sorts of very private information. A patient came in the office and all of his business was so loudly shared that I felt embarrassed for him. My test was at 1:45; at 1:50 I asked when will I be seen, and they said 5 minutes. Ten minutes later they take me back and they're loudly discussing my medical device in the hallway, and keep knocking on my door as I am changing to keep asking questions that I have already answered on the intake form. Long story short- they were horrible and I would never return back here. read more

Enough had been said about this imaging place , it's totally unreliable , unfeasible and irresponsible . In all over world , they always say time is money. This place wastes a lot of my time when I commuted from SF to Mountain View as it was told to come 15 minutes before the appointment where I literally show up 45 minutes before my schedule and it was told they're running behind without any sincere apology and empathy . I highly recommend for them to notify patient of their latency ahead of time . I put everything on hold to make sure to come to this appointment and be on time . 1. When I first made the MRI appointment with SimonMed Imaging, they told me if I can pay cash, it will be only $200. I told them I would like to go through the insurance. All the sudden, it became $500+. Keep in mind this is the price for the within-network insurance. Otherwise, it will be $1100+. I have a high deductible insurance. 2. Right after the appointment, they asked me to pay for the $500+ right away which I did. Then a couple of weeks later, I found out that I have already hit my deductible amount. They should have only charged me $130 instead of $500+. I contacted my insurance and was told SimonMed should refund me the difference in the next week or two. It has been three weeks past since the conversation I had with the insurance company, but I still have NOT got my refund yet. I contacted the billing department of SimonMed Imaging and was told that they will refund the difference eventually but "it won't happen over night!" - Three weeks vs. one night... The way they handled it was extremely unprofessional.The representative whom I spoke to over the phone was extremely arrogant and kept saying that it won't happen over the night, ok?! I would never recommend this place to anyone for any type of appointment given the way they handle the billings. read more

I was given an order for sinus X-rays by my doctor and SimonMed was the only facility in network of our insurance provider in the area, so I had to go despite the reviews and was pleasantly surprised with services. I called in advance to make sure they accept walk-ins and filled the form from their web site at home. So it didn't take much time to fill the questionnaire in the office and I didn't have to wait. All professionals were very attentive and courteous. They'll send results directly to my doctor in two days, but for now I'm very happy with my visit. Thanks! read more

A plus experience today. The staff was friendly and Mike, who directed the MRI, was very nice and competent and helpful and caring. I can't think of any way to improve the service to customers (patients.) I do have a suggestion, though, especially since this is a health center: The earth/people unfriendly styrofoam cups in the waiting area should be replaced with biodegradable, or at least paper ones. read more

On March 28, 2018,I had a MRI in Los Gatos site. The staff was very pleasant and helpful to meet!The technician Joe was extremely helpful and quite patient with me being claustrophobic! It was done in 15 minutes as Joe definitely made it possible for me to get this process done. I had tried this before at different site. Joe help me get this done.
