I'm in the lobby. There are two receptionists. As lovely as they both are, they are both listening to different music on their computers that can be heard throughout the waiting room. It doesn't sound good. It's annoying. I brought it up to both of them... I noticed, people are noticing. This is not how music works and they are both being passive aggressive about selecting music. Called main phone # for location and was told didn't need appt for Chest XRay and right then the wait was only 5 min. The absolutely worse imaging center in Tucson !!! Would not allow me to make an appointment for Xray , ,I was told to arrive early. I took of work & arrived at opening to be told no technician available. I was then told to come back the next day for the X ray at 9:05 but arrive by 8:45. I've been here since 8:30 & still haven't had my knee x-ray done. I'm getting ready to walk out. I've taken off work for this, extremely poor customer service !!! My appointment is at 10:15 mind you not late at all and it's been a 2 hrs wait for a simple first mammogram lol just told I'm next and then others are called before me when ... wonder if it's short staffed or weird it shouldn't be a 2 hr wait for a mammogram and only 7 patients in the waiting room. Or the doctor is really slow lol yes the time wait is really bad however Cynthia made it up and is wonderful upon my first time** rating. This place is by far the worst I have ever come across to try to schedule a simple mri. They send automated phone messages that prompt you to respond and when you do it doesn't work. When you call to get it addressed you get sent to some call center that can only read the screen and have very little ability to actually help with anything. My advice is to save yourself the hassle and just ask for a different option. read more

Oh my, what a terrible experience I've just had at this location. It started on Wednesday when Simon Med Schedular call me to say my Dr ordered a lumbar MRI. I asked if they had an open MRI because I am extremely claustrophobic and I was told no my Dr Ordered a MRI with a Tesla3 and I was told what openings they had the Orange Grove location, which was the closest to my home. My appointment was at 12:30 and the receptionist brought me back to the changing area at 12:30. By the way the changing area is one area for male and females with no place to sit except on the bench in the changing room. As I was sitting there I heard the MRI machine going for 10 minutes or so and then it stopped. When it stopped the receptionist came back and walked into a room around the corner from the MRI room. I could her and another female talking, I thought it was a break room. After about 10 minutes the receptionist left and about 5 minutes later the MRI technician came walking around the corner and walked into the MRI room. She then came out with the patient. When she called me in I said to her please don't leave in the MRI machine for as long you did for the previous patient, I heard you talking to the receptionist and I'm extremely claustrophobic. She nastily said back to me don't tell me how to do my job I had to look at the films to make sure they were okay. I told her I was not telling her how to do her job just don't leave me in the machine while she's talking to the receptionist, I doubt she needed the receptionist to read the MRI. Then she proceeded to tell me my Dr ordered an open MRI, I said the scheduler never told me that's what he ordered. She asked if I wanted to cancel and reschedule, I asked where was the open MRI and she said St Mary's! I opted to stay since I wasn't sure if I could get an appointment at St Mary's and the results by time I see my Dr next Monday. I also told her I will attempt to stay still but laying on my back does cause muscle spasms which I can't control, sure enough I started to get a muscle spasm right before the machine stopped and squeezed the call button when the machine stopped. I asked if the MRI was done she said almost, I said I'm getting a muscle spasm . She didn't respond to me and few minutes later she asked me if I wanted to continue, she had to start over because I moved. I moved because the muscle spasm caused my leg to voluntarily move, I didn't make it move. I reminded her I can't control a muscle spasm when it starts. She started over and when I was done was in agony with tears due to the severe spasm. I was having a hard time trying to turn to get up and she didn't bother to help! When I finally got up I had a hard time walking. She just stood there. Never in all my years did I have an uncaring healthcare worker. She had no empathy and was pissed at me because I called her out for socializing with the receptionist while she left the patient alone in the MRI room. By the way I've been an RN for 51 years and would never have treated a patient the way she treated me. My advice stay away from this location however if this is the way they treat patients I'm sure that's the culture at their other locations. read more

I arrived at 9:30 in the morning, and there were only a couple of people waiting in the lobby. I showed my doctor's order to the front desk staff (named Roselyn), and she told me I would need to wait for more than an hour. I asked if I could make an appointment, but she said no, only walk-ins were accepted. So I decided to wait. By almost 11:00, Roselyn called me over and told me that I had to go to a different location for my exam. I was very frustrated because I had already waited for over an hour, while many people who came after me were being seen. She said my exam was different, but I only needed a simple hand and foot X-ray, nothing special. I don't understand why I was singled out. On top of that, I have Type 1 diabetes, which means I need to eat on time. Asking me to drive to another location close to lunchtime and continue waiting indefinitely was not reasonable and showed no consideration for patients' medical needs. When I asked how much longer I would have to wait if I stayed, she said she didn't know. If I had been told from the beginning that the wait time was uncertain, I would never have chosen to wait there. The service attitude was very poor, and I felt that patients were not respected at all. I will not be coming back to this company. read more

I had very good experiences with them for years -- until earlier this year. I called to schedule three different types of scans, and after spending *over half an hour* repeatedly reading the exact names and numbers of the scans directly from my doctor's orders, the young man was still confused about what I needed. I thought we finally got it done correctly, but I was so frustrated by the whole experience that I asked to speak to a supervisor. *He wouldn't transfer me.* He asked me why I wanted to speak with a supervisor and I said I shouldn't have to tell him why, I just wanted to speak with one. We went around three or four more times, and it finally took me literally yelling at him for me to get transferred. (The supervisor was appropriately apologetic and said he would talk to the young man.) Then came the day of my appointments, and when I got there I found out that *he still didn't get everything down exactly right*, but that wasn't going to be a problem. I had my first two scans, then had to wait almost an hour for the third one. When I talked to the girl at the front desk about the wait, she told me *they take in walk-ins before people with appointments.* WTH???? What's even worse is that I have neuropathy and can't drive. Fortunately a friend was kind enough to take me, and although they were upset about having to sit there and wait an hour longer than expected, they understood it wasn't my fault. And it's a good thing I had private transportation, because if I had scheduled my rides with the Sun shuttle, for example, I would have been sc***ed. Then last month I needed another scan for something else (it's been a fun year) and called to make the appointment (because we still have to make appointments for some scans even though they don't have a policy to honor them.) I was told the date and time of the next appointment at my closest location, but since that was weeks away I explained that that wouldn't work because my doctor felt this was a somewhat urgent matter. They found an earlier appointment that the other location but I told them that wasn't going to work either, because that's an hour away on the other side of town, I was going to have to arrange a ride, and I obviously didn't want to risk inconveniencing my driver again with a long wait especially that late in the day. So I very clearly said that I was going to call Radiology Ltd and find out if I could get in sooner there, and *I would call them back if I wanted to schedule with them.* Next thing I know I'm getting texts confirming my appointment for the first time I was given. Seriously? I don't need to deal with this confusion and incompetence anymore, I'm just sticking with Radiology Ltd from now on, unless and until I see reviews that consistently rave about there being a complete overhaul at SimonMed. read more

I planned my day based on opening time of 7 am. I went to the first location in Apache Junction and was told the tech is out for the week so I will need to go to another location. I drove to the second location and was told it was an hour and a half wait. I drove to a third location and was told they were trying to get a tech from another location as their regular tech "called out" (sick?) A tech did show up from another location yet here I sit an hour later still no xray! I overheard the lady checking in patients "the machine is getting rebooted and we'll see what happens." How can a business be run this way? I do not recommend this company. Ask your Dr. to send you somewhere else. read more

Been to this location 3x and the person doing procedures wasn't there. The second time I was told to come on a Wednesday and when I got there @1pm was told she left @ 12. Why is there never any employees available to perform procedures. Was told I could go to the st marys location. This is my 2nd fiasco with this company. First time, husband was told that they didn't do ultrasounds there and that he would have to go to Phoenix. This time, I had an order for Stat ultrasound because dr suspected possible appendicitis and was told by scheduling that nothing was available for 4 days. Stat means urgent/high priority by the way. I called back the next day and spoke with someone in scheduling who spoke with her supervisor and got me an appt for this morning (a day earlier). Was not allowed to eat or drink after midnight for prep for this exam. Drove 1/2 hr to the office and was told that I was not on schedule and schedule was full. Old appt was not cancelled either. Office was empty except for 1 other person. Now I am scheduled for later this AFTERNOON at a different office further away, and still nothing to eat or drink till then. The prep sheet that I was given today says that this exam should be scheduled in the morning due to air forming in the abdomen. So we will see how this exam goes or IF it goes this afternoon. I don't have much faith that it will go well. I tried to call and speak with a supervisor at central scheduling and was supposedly transferred to them but it rang and rang until it eventually disconnected. I am a retired healthcare worker and know how things are suppose to be run in an office. This is the WORST organization that I have ever come across. Whoever is running Simonmed in Tucson needs to be fired and everyone at the call center too. The only reason I am still dealing with them is because they are the only imaging center that takes my insurance. Just a warning to everyone that has to deal with them. My doctor ordered an ultrasound. When I arrived for my appointment they tried forcing me into getting an MRI/mammogram. Also, Marisara at the desk said the radiologist needed an MRI because the radiologist had a hard time reading ultrasounds. Decided not to get the ultrasound here, canceled and left. SMH Very inconvenient, it took a month to get this appointment. But, every other office was booked for two months out. read more

I went to simon med for hip.xray. i waited 2 hours, staff was not helpful at all. Then when I went back was told tjey only do xrays standing up. Fortunately I was able to stand, but the tech was not very helpful. Her comment was if you cant stand you will have to go somewhere else. I will NEVER go back.there again. Rad.Limited is excellent never a problem. GO somewhere else, it is a very unfriendly atmosphere, especially being in pain and sitting 2 hours. read more

Needed an MRI for my knee, saw my primary Dr and was referred to SimonMed. Have had trouble with this company before but nothing worth a review. They call me to schedule the MRI, we pick a date, location, & time. I show up just for them to tell me 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment that it's been cancelled because my insurance has not been approved.... Understandable about the insurance but no one from SimonMed bothered to call to let me know. So I've driven 20 minutes and called out for work this morning for nothing. Very unprofessional, not to mention the woman at the front desk was very rude about it all and couldn't even get the time right for the rescheduled appointment. The time on the reminder card was completely different than the time she told me aloud. Not sure about this team on Orange Grove. Had an okay experience at the Paloma plaza location prior so it may just be this location. read more

This is the WORST medical facility I've ever dealt with. The communication between the call center and the actual office is non-existent. The call center has NO idea what they are doing and the front desk at the Orange Grove location is less than friendly. Tried to make an appointment here for 3 days to no success. An automated system would call and leave me a message to call the office. I would call, only to get an answering machine. I then started receiving text messages to call the office to make an appointment. The same thing happened got an answering machine . I finally went to Radiology LTD had my appointment in 10 minutes. read more

I read all the reviews and was apprehensive, however when I showed up they were polite and helpful. I showed up 15 min. early and was brought back a few minutes after my arrival. I was there to have 3 MRI's, the MRI tech was wonderful and accommodating. I have zero complaints and I would definitely go here again. read more

After reading some of the reviews of SimonMed, I tried to switch my appointment to a different provider. SimonMed could see me soonest so I decided to just go. My experience was not like that of so many reviewers. They were on time, courteous, and businesslike. There were no problems with billing or my insurance. I was able to get access to the MRI results online fairly quickly, including the actual images, which I have never been able to see in patient portal records from other facilities. I spent a happy 20 minutes diving into the images, trying to figure out what I was seeing. Yes, that passes for entertainment around here. Getting a cd of the images was more problematic. In theory it is just a matter of letting the facility know so they can have it ready for you to pick it up. However, informing the facility proved much harder than it needed to be, with a series of calls, transfers to anywhere but the right place, and long holds. Once I got to the right place, I was told the cd could be ready to be picked up in 5 minutes. Overall, I am fairly enthusiastic about my experience at SimonMed. read more

Horrible experience. Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. Unreasonably long wait times. We all had to sit in the waiting room and listen to receptionist yap loudly on her phone with her friend (apologizing to her friend for being on her phone too much while hanging out the night before.) I mean really!? The unprofessionalism was almost comical. Not to mention the woman who performed the CT scan was wildly incompetent and injured my mother while doing the scan. TLDR: I made an appointment for a screening mammogram and they miscoded it and now are charging me over $400 copay for something that should have been a $0 copay. This started last fall when I went into my final 2 year monitoring imaging appointment. My Dr. referral had expired and they didn't notice until I arrived. They asked me to wait while they got the referral. I waited over an hour past my appointment and they finally got the referral, then I had to wait again for them to squeeze me in. I always pay before my appointment, but because they didn't have all the paperwork I don't think I was charged for that appointment. When I went to the back after waiting nearly 2 hours past my appointment the technician told me I would have to wait even longer because I would have to wait for a remote Dr to review my images before I could leave. I told them I couldn't wait longer and ended my appointment before they did any images. I then went to the front desk to make a new appointment and told her I was done with the monitoring images and just wanted to get a normal screening mammogram. She told me I had to wait until the 2 year monitoring time was up, I asked when that would be and set an appointment for the screening for the month after it expired. In March I get a reminder call a few days before my zero copay screening appointment and they let me know my copay would be nearly $450. I called the number and told them what I had set the appointment for and that it should be a zero copay, and that I wanted to cancel the appointment if they couldn't do that service. He said he would recode the appointment and that it now showed a screening appointment and zero copay. I showed up to my appointment and again verified that it was a screening with zero copay, the front desk confirmed. I went into to get the images and then was told to wait in a room while a Dr reviews the images, I asked why and the technician informed me that it was a diagnostic appointment. I got dressed and went to the front desk and informed them again what happened, they looked at their system and informed me that it still had the wrong code and that she would correct it. In April I get a bill for the $400+ for the wrong services. I called and explained and was told they would send it to "the back office" and it takes 30-45 days so they will suspend my bill until it has been reviewed. I got another bill in May and called at the 45 day mark and was told it was 30-45 "working days". I got a bill in June will past the 45 working days and was again told it would be sent to "the back office" for follow up. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told none were available. In July I get another bill, I call again, now I'm told that the April and May calls don't show up in the system and the 45 days have started over. I ask again to talk to someone who can address the issue and was told a supervisor would get back to me. They never did. I think it was June, when I went into the clinic where I had my appointments to see if they could do anything. The person at the front desk was very dismissive and told me that as long as I have a referral for diagnostic they can't provide screening services and that the code for the service can't be changed. Now, remember the only reason I have a referral is because she requested one while I was at my appointment in October. Now it's October, I get a text and an email for a $231 bill. I've never used their online payment system so I want to call to first make sure it's a valid link and to determine if this is a reduced bill, which I'm willing to pay, just to get these guys out of my life. I call, she takes a minute to review my bill, says the service was $700+ insurance paid $400+ and my portion is $231, I ask if that is the only thing showing outstanding on my account, then she mumbles something and I have to ask her to repeat it and there is another line item that is due, but not on this bill for some reason that brings the total to the $400+ that was combined with the other service on every other bill I'd been sent. I ask again to speak to someone who can address this issue and she told me to call my insurance, I already have, they told me they just pay what is coded. I need to talk to someone who can adjust what the appointment was coded. So, now all I can do is share my cautionary tail and suggest that when dealing with this company you get verification of what service you are going in for so you aren't over charged like I am. At this point I don't expect to get a call from anyone from the company and will be forced to pay for something that should have been free or risk it going into collections and ruining my credit. read more

My doctor (Bocian, DPM) told me to walk across the parking lot to get Xrays. I did. Apparently their Xray technician had "just left" well before the close the business day. Could I please make the 45-minute trek back tomorrow? I did. That day was worse. After waiting interminably - well over an hour - I was brought into an Xray room with an Xray Technician who literally did not know how to use the machine. Yeap. That's comforting. While I sat there - now IN the exam room for well over a half hour - he actually called several people on his cell phone, explaining he didn't know how to use the machine and asking them to walk him through what to do... while I sat there - being re-exposed and re-exposed. Yeah... I asked if I should wear a leaded vest? Or go outside? He said, "Oh. No. It's not that bad. But you can come back here if you want." (To walk behind the protective screen HE was behind!) I wanted. What I really wanted was to leave - but given how long I'd already waited - this, my second trip... I patiently waited for him to reboot, click and mess 'til I HOPE we FINALLY (?) got X-rays? Felt like I was stuck in a surreal comedy sketch. Wouldn't've believed it if it hadn't've happened to me. But... it did. Would I recommend them? Uhm... no. Not the front desk staff, not the technicians, no part of SimonMed Imaging would I want anyone I care about to have to endure. read more

I didn't get my imaging done--insurance snafu, but the ladies at the front desk were kind and professional and helpful. Three things I often find sorely lacking in medical front office personnel. I usually dread fighting through the front desk folks, but this was LOVELY. Everyone was helpful and professional. It didn't feel like they were against me--it so often feels like a fight. Thank god. I'll post again after I actually get my MRI, but so far, so great! read more

It seems every time we have to come here... they run LATE. It's always 30 minutes plus past the appointment time. It does not matter the time of day....I am really not surprised to see the low rating of this place. The staff does not bother to inform patients of the schedule. This was my 2nd attempt at an MRI that I was needing to get done on my knee for what my doctor thinks is torn menicus. So i went to different location, still a SimonMed but the first one was not a pleasant experience to say the least. The gentlemen was not so gentle, empathetic or professional. So this location was quite busy and just an overall much MORE PLEASANT experience. I believe a young lady by the name of Peyton is who helped check me in. She was very professional and understanding that I was still quite nervous about the MRI. I guess I didn't know that I was claustrophobic until the 1st attempt. So when i went in to this location & explained this to Peyton, she must have passed this info to the tech who was such an angel. I can not make this up nor exaggerate on how zen Jaclyn was! From the very beginning as she introduced herself and greeted me stating that she was going to be just a few more minutes wrapping up her previous patient, through the duration of the entire appointment. She has such a beautiful calming tone of voice, that it truly was a breath of fresh air. Peyton assured me that she was taking me back just to get me prepared (changed into the appropriate gown) & that I was still able to take some time to prepare myself and also allow the sedation medication that the Dr had me take 1 hour prior to my appointment. I was just scared that it wouldn't work as the prior appt. To my surprise, not only did the medication help me BUT the tech that i was blessed with (Jaclyn) & also Peyton truly made it all possible. I was super grateful that it was nothing compared to the previous appt and location. I was speechless yet had so much gratitude, that once i was done with the MRI, I asked Jaclyn if i can please hug her, as i was just so incredibly thankful for her. Its not always just the medication of sedation that can make the procedure smooth. The tech has almost 80 percent to do with the entire visit. The tech, the amazing Peyton had absolutely everything to do with helping me accomplish a fear that I didn't even know existed in me. Thank you to those lovely girls! I requested they send an MRI scan completed four months ago to a provider who needed to review it but several calls over several days to the medical records number resulted in my leaving multiple voicemail messages. No live person ever picked up the call. No-one has returned the calls so it seems that this organization does not provide this service. I'm quite disgusted and frustrated with this dreadful organization and would suggest anyone needing medical imaging use a competitor. Peter G read more

I had my annual screening mammogram on March 17. I went to Simon med because its predecessor, AZ Women's Imaging , had my records. On March 17 I was told it would take about three weeks to get my results (which would be mailed to me). Three weeks came and went without any results. On April 22, my primary doc called to tell me the results were fine. I asked if they would mail me the report since I had never received it from Simon Med. My doc sent the results. Today, May 10, I got my results from Simon Med. The report was dated March 25, but not mailed until May 6. Never again will I go back there. Thankfully my results were fine and the two months delay didn't cause an issue. And do NOT get me started with the forms you have to fill out online when you make your appointment, then you have to fill them out again (on your phone) before you walk into the office the day of your appointment. This includes taking pics of your drivers license and orders for the mammogram. Then you walk in and have to produce the documents again because "the system doesn't always transmit the documents to the office." Never again. read more
