First, this review is regarding the Simon Med scheduling overall. Not the Phoenix location in particular. I found calling Simon Med to schedule is a waste of time. I never got a real person. You will be given the choice of a number to push, and then it's back to more music to listen to, and then you will likely hang up. Do not call Simon Med with small children in earshot! You will be offered the opportunity to have them call you back, so you don't have to wait in line for the next available.....Don't believe it. they won't call you back. I have spent the entire day making calls, waiting for a call back, pushing numbers, listening to music. (and cussing them out! Remember: no small children within earshot.) Futile, absoluteley futile! I could have driven to the nearby Simon Med, stood in their line, asked questions, and been gone in an hour max. I would suggest that you find your local Simon Med and drive over. BTW, scheduling an appointment online might cause harm to your computer.....It is THAT frustrating! read more

I came in for a 4:00 MRI appointment. I was not taken back until 6:00. The MRI was for my foot, the tech told me it would take a total of 12-15 minutes to complete the scan. The Scan actually took 30 minutes. They did not communicate to me during the scan that it was taking longer, and I started freaking out a little because I did not know what was going on. The lobby was hot and over crowded, a movie was playing loudly and that only added to the negative experience. The lights in the lobby were also too bright, and it was so loud. Adding to the noise was one employee who spoke way to loud and called every one she dealt with sweetie. I would never go back to Simon Med. read more

Danielle the receptionist greater me with a warm smile as soon as I arrived. She was fast and very efficient. Christina the TA was amazing at drawing my blood at the first stick and making me laugh. Chuck the Tech was fast and made my MRI very pleasant. They assured me I was in good hands the minute I walked in. They offered late appointments that fit my schedule and had me in and out. I would like to give the gentleman at the front desk positive feedback, great customer service and and great multi-tasker! You can tell he holds the floor down I observed him handling a patient complaint while the manager was no where to be found. I observed the lack of leadership and when I asked too speak with the Manager the young lady replied I dont know she comes in whenever she wants and I can have you speak to the supervisor. I noticed she was working the desk as well and I felt bad for how busy the day was and I patiently waited for my mom to be seen. We had some concerns regarding the exam and the gentleman answered all of our questions and as I was leaving the office an hour later I noticed a lady curly hair yelling at the staff very unprofessional and once again I asked for the Manager and was told that was her I realized I could not bring my positive feedback to her knowing she lacks in managment skills and cannot handle her temper. If it wasnt for the great service the guy provide we would not return.Please give him credit for his hard work and the supervisor for having to put up with their manager i believe her name was Andrea. I had to write to tell you the experience I had with my scheduling at your office. I needed to schedule four tests: MRI, Ultra Sound, Bone Density, and a 3D mamo. Leona Sandoval was excellent with getting all the test done at one time. I did have to go to another location for two of the tests, but it was close by and still right after my first two tests. The following day, I received a call from her and she told me that she found a location that can do all four simultaneously at one location. She remembered that my tests were to be at two locations and she called to see if I wanted to reschedule so I would not have to go to both locations. Thank you, Leona. I went in for an MRI of the shoulder and was called back before my appointment time. I didn't have much of a wait. The radiologist made me feel comfortable during the procedure and actually offered to help me off the table at the end. Maybe I lucked out because I had a Saturday appointment. I deducted a star because when I went back to pick up my medical records (CD and a copy of the report), I waited longer than necessary. The front desk guy wasn't paying attention and didn't realize everything was done. He was apologetic and to be fair, the waiting room was packed. read more

I have been a patient over 10 years. I have had my last procedure at Simon Med Imaging. Customer service is horrible, phone systems are inefficient at best. Records are a mess. Until yesterday's appointment I could honestly say the medical part of it was the only good thing however now I can't say that. The scheduler forgot to tell me there was a prep necessary for the imaging so they only did half of the procedure my doctor ordered. Didn't seem concerned that they couldn't do half of the order. That's not good medicine! Have zero concerns for my time being valuable. Said, well you can come back....I'm routinely on hold then the calls take about 30 minutes each time I need to call Simon Med. And for some reason, they kept going back to old insurance from five years ago for billing which of course was denied. Took probably over 3 hours on the phone over multiple days to rectify what should be an easy update. I'm sad to leave as this is now going to take me even more time to gather up all of my records and move them to another imaging facility. It's a shame you used to be really good. read more

I have had nothing but frustration with this company. My first appointment took over a month to be scheduled as they lost it. They booked my second appointment on a holiday. After waiting 2 weeks for this appointment they cancelled and said to reschedule. I was kept on hold for 50 minutes one day, 45 minutes another day and still did not get a person. I finally got my doctor to order from a different company. read more

I used to highly recommend Simon Med Imagery but now I would never go back. I understand and know that there are good people still trapped there, but overall, they suck now! I had my xrays on a Saturday because they kept closing early during the week. Now a new system is holding my reports up, four days later, or they just aren't reading the xrays, but I can't get the report period! Only through my Dr they say. I've been there three times; the staff was excellent and kind, but the general customer service is a MESS. First person on the phone to schedule me gave me an appointment time, but sent my confirmation and medical record to someone else's email. When I didn't hear back, I called again and scheduled again with someone who knew what they were doing. On showing up, they said I didn't have an order, so I had to convince them I personally didn't see the order, but they called ME, so why would they call me and set up an appointment for 3 MRI's if they didn't have an order. After about 30 minutes, they found the orders. I waited an hour and 15 for my appt. Maybe they are just too big and too busy, but the general running of this company in the background (phone service) is to me a disaster. On one occasion the person on the phone kept mixing me up with another patient; Not too happy she emailed my records to a strange email hence not really scheduling me at all. I want to add, the actual Techs are amazing, kind and very good. SMI is very big in numbers, guessing they're just too busy. read more

Poor service in general. I had my appointment at 2 pm on Saturday February 4, 2017 and I was taken in at 4:15 pm . I arrived 25 min early and had all paper work filled out before 2:pm. During the wait I had to translate for a patient because they did not have a bilingual employee. Around 3:10 pm asked the front desk how much longer I needed to wait and she responded you are the next person. Five people went in after she had told me I was next. When they finally called me (two hours and 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment )she told me i had to come back because my doctor ordered a diagnostic ultrasound and the doctor from Simon Med wanted a mammogram done instead. I explain to her I had just done one in October of 2016 if they can just do the ultrasound and recommend my doctor a mammogram but she told me I would need to come back a different time. I told her no, I am not going to come back to waist my time here, got dressed and walked out. They are disorganized and have poor customer skills I will never go to this location again. read more

I called SimonMed to verify that it was in network, before calling my OBGYN to get a referral for my mammogram. I gave SimonMed my insurance information and was told that I was in network. My OB sent the referral to SimonMed. Then SimonMed called me to schedule my appointment. During that time, I again provided my insurance information and said I wanted to confirm they were in network. I had already canceled one appointment with another imaging center after finding out that it was out of network on the day of my appointment and I didn't want to go through that again. Again, SimonMed said I was in network. On the day of my appointment. I provided my insurance card and asked for a third time to confirm that I was in network. I was told for a third time that I was in network, so I went through with my appointment. Three months later, I get a bill for over $900 and an EOB stating the SimonMed was out of network. My in network costs would have been $178. So, I called SimonMed and told the representative that I would pay $178, even though it would be applied to my out of network deductible and their mistake was going to cost me extra because I have already hit my in network deductible. I told her I would not be paying the over $900 bill based on their mistake. Instead of accepting my payment, she told me she would try to process it again. They did, only for it to come back as out of network and for me to get the $900 bill again, a bill I told them I would not pay because it was a result of their failure to do their jobs. They told me three times I was in network. Beware because this company only seems to care about money. read more

I went to the office on 27th and the 101. Had three scheduled procedures: mammogram, dexascan, and a CT scan w/contrast. For some reason they did the CT scan first which made it so they couldn't do the dexascan - which I already paid for. The IV came out during the CT (I swear I didn't move!), and sprayed blood all over the machine and floor - looked like a murder scene. When I went in for the mammo, my first impression was that it was kinda messy in there, cluttered desk, overflowing trash can, banged up walls, a banana sitting on the control panel, etc. It was a tiny little room that appeared to be the tech's "office" as well. She had me change in that room and then came back in to start the mammogram. I didn't notice this until later, but the tech had her cell phone propped up on the edge of the counter facing the machine. Lovely. Probably a web cam on the computer too. Beware of the Arrowhead facility. I've had 2 appointments there this week and still haven't actually received a scheduled MRI. The first appointment was canceled by them without any notification. In fact, 90 minutes before the appointment I received both an email and text reminder. I showed up 20 mins only to be told I didn't have an appointment. They couldn't fit me in and couldn't tell me who canceled or why. They finally said it was an insurance issue and I needed to call for authorization. I phoned my insurance company and was told no authorization was necessary- they were mistaken. Back to scheduling to try to get in. The made an appointment for me at 4:45 that afternoon. I showed up 15 mins early and checked in. I waited and waited and waited some more. At 5:45 (an hour after my scheduled appointment) I asked the receptionist how much longer and she said a few more mins. They did indeed come get me in a few mins. Got me set up in the machine - after about 10 mins in the machine they pulled me out saying they were having technical issues. A few mins later they said they would need to reschedule. It shouldn't be this hard to get medical treatment. read more

SMI just outright SUCKS! Their billing practices are ridiculous, and I am reporting them to my insurance company. I have MS and have to have annual MRIs as part of my treatment plan. I walk in and the first thing I am asked is what is your deductible? WTF... really? My MRIs are $250 on my insurance plan, yet they wanted me to pay $1000 out of pocket! I will take my business elsewhere! This is the second time I have had billing issues with this location. And, had another billing issue in past years at another location of being billed twice, yet they said I wasn't and owed them more money, I provided bank statements to prove my payments and as a result they sent to collections! SMI takes advantage of individuals!!! read more

My son was referred by Biltmore ENT for a very important barium swallow test, as he has not been able to eat solid foods for nearly (2) months. We were told they would be calling us to schedule an appointment. We have been waiting since 8/30/16. We have left voice mail after voice mail at the phone number the ENT office uses, (480-478-6535) asking what the hold up is, and why they aren't calling us. Nobody has ever returned our calls and he needs this handled. Today, I finally had the doctor's office provide me with a central scheduling number in Phoenix where we can call ourselves. I have now been on perpetual hold for appointment assistance for over 10 minutes with this site. Good lord! Once this nightmare is behind us, we will never use this imaging center again. Seems like some locations are better than others. I am waiting to hear back from them after the doctor sent them an order for a biopsy almost four hours ago. Nobody (including the Dr's office) ever called to say that the order was there, and the patient needs to schedule it. The patient (not me) has a bleeding cancer, and is already anemic. So this waste of time is harming the patient as I type. The surgeon and the oncologist need the path report when we see them tomorrow afternoon. It's almost 4 now, and when I called them to ask about an order having been sent, they told me that they stop doing biopsies at 4:30, and that someone would call to schedule. I don't blame SimonMed entirely, but this is dangerous. read more

Never go to SimonMed! Even when you have insurance they always demand that you pay up front! They claim they have access to your insurance and know what the insurance will allow but they are always higher and wrong! Twice I had to go there and both times they made me pay up front. After my insurance finally processed the claims, I had all kinds of grief trying to get them to refund my overpayment that they insisted on having before they will do any imaging procedure. I kept getting the runaround and was given many different numbers to call and they all kept passing the buck about which department will actually do the refund. It took a couple months to straighten out the first overpayment and I am still trying to get reimbursed for the second one! I will never go to SimonMed again! read more

Although scheduling an appointment for an ultrasound was very easy and the follow-up from this staff was wonderful, the review is more on my actual appointment and service I received during my ultrasound. The ultrasound tech was not like any other ultrasound tech I have encountered before. I needed a pelvic ultrasound and he wound up asking me after he had done the traditional ultrasound if I needed or if my doctor wanted me to have a different type of ultrasound. I had to use the bathroom after the first ultrasound before the second ultrasound be performed. There was no bathroom in Suite 103 where I was having my ultrasound. So I was instructed to go to the other Simon med suite in 102 to use the bathroom. When I returned the ultrasound tech had prepped the table for me in advance and gave me clear instructions as to what he needed me to do and then notified me that he would be obtaining a chaperone. He seemed very, very uncomfortable having to do the internal ultrasound and made me handle the wand and business end first at that with no offer to sanitize or anything to clean all the gel off my hand and honestly the situation caught me off guard. Luckily I had clean and sanitized hands! Finally, something else I found odd was that once he was finished he instructed me to of course get dressed but then I had to throw things away off the table. I just felt that this is a medical professional and my past ultrasound (I've had a lot) were more professional. Anyone else ever have an experience like this? read more

This Review is for the billing department only.. my Ultrasound tech was friendly and everything was fine in that department. MY experience trying to pay my bill today. I tried to pay online via there website it did not work. So i tried to call and make a credit card payment over the phone.. They have an automated credit card payment line which also didn't not work...I tried twice. (Please note I do have money in my bank account and i did type all info correctly and carefully) So after 3 failed attempts i transfer to a live person who answered the phone (i think her name was Kim) i tell her whats going on and she said rudely hold on... and she transfers me back to the automated phone line for credit card payments!! So again i try that and it doesn't work.... So i call back and get thru to another live person I tell her whats going on and she proceeds to tell me they can't take a phone payment unless i use the automated system or pay online.. neither worked so i told the women well i guess your not getting paid then and she hung up the phone. Your billing services are crap and your customer service reps are useless and rude! Guess you don't want your money Thanks for stressing out a pregnant women too that's great.... read more

Incompetent!!! Spent an inordinate amount of time getting an appointment set up and Kristen did not get it right! Sent me to a site where they don't do the study that I needed. She got on the phone multiple times to "call the site" to "verify". Never emailed me the instructions as she said she would. Got there 30 mins prior to my appointment having been NPO for 2 hrs. No deodorant. No lotion. Total if an hour driving time. Naturally I am peeves because on a day that I shuffled my schedule and I'm crunched for time, I waited 45mins and had i not asked an approx time that they could get me in I would not have been informed of this goof up. Naturally they've already taken my very hefty payment. Trish at the 19th ave site was amazing in helping to rectify the problem. On my way to the other site that Kristen was able to schedule i get a call from her that she would like to schedule something different since she double booked me and want to be mindful of my time. Additionally it is to be noted that the 19th Ave site is not pleasant. Smells. All sites should strive for the Mountain View standard. read more

So as of today this saga is a couple of days shy of a month. I have phoned five times and still no resolution. On Tuesday I was instructed to send a fax of the payment receipt I was given at the time of my testing. I called this Thursday afternoon and was told that if it was received it would take up to 5 days to show up. As of today the three payments I made STILL do not show up in their system. Needless to say I am quite upset as this is totally unacceptable. read more

Don't bother trying to call them for any reason at all. I suppose if you have a lab order and want to walk in and wait for half a day you may be okay, I'm not sure because I couldn't even get information to see if I could get in with my insurance. I have been on the phone for over 2 hours. I have been transferred then disconnected, transferred, on hold again, transferred and disconnected, on hold, on hold on hold. At one point I asked for a supervisor and was told he didn't know if he could get a supervisor because he was working from home! At my persistence he then tried to get a hold of a supervisor, 8 minutes later came back and said he couldn't get a hold of anyone but they would call me back. I'll give you one guess if they called me back. You get the picture. I finally called SimonMed compliance number and left a message. We'll see if they call me back. run away from any "business" with these red flags. Go to SMIL. You can talk to a person, they're competent and know what they're doing. read more

Very frustrating. Although they don't make appointments for x-rays, they do for other services. I had an appointment, and still waited an hour and a half to be seen. The front desk staff seemed very unorganized. However the techs were very professional. I recommend going elsewhere. If you go here, bring a book, and plan to spend two hours in a very hectic waiting room. read more

Horrible experience!!!! My appointment time was 11:00am didn't get called back until 12:30pm only to find out Sim Med doesn't accept my insurance. I explained to the Authorization Supervisor at 2620 N 3rd St Phoenix, AZ who was very rude that she needs to call my insurance provider to get payment. She ignored what I was telling her and kept telling me they don't accept my insurance. When I asked to speak to someone else who could help she says it's her; she's the supervisor. After demanding that she call my insurance provider to get payment, she comes back and said all you have to do next time is tell them you want to self pay. i was at the avondale location for a follow up to a surgery. at the us tech and mammo tech were fantastic. so here i go the child! that works at the check in desk is rude, immature and stupid. she should not be working with people. i even heard her yell at her manager. she even started to talk about me to the other girl at the front desk. there was an issue with my appointment and she was just rude and very childish. people like her have no business working in the medical field. period. if scheduling is an issue and you know this.. fix it.. and stop hiring idiots! i am giving one star because i cannot give zero read more

I went in for a brain MRI, spinal MRI, and thoracic MRI all in one visit. Needless to say, I was dreading it. My technician Imperio G. was amazing. She was very gentle with the IV (my MRI's were with and without contrast), I explained I have bad veins, and she got me on the first stick. The rest of the visit was just as remarkable. Explaining the process along the way, and taking great care after I came out of the machine. I was dizzy and a wee bit nauseous, she was very kind. Thank you Imperio. read more

Worst service ever . Waited for x rays for both me and my boyfriend for over 3 hours . During my x ray the tech had to continually stop because "storage was full " keep in mind it's cold and I'm naked in a room how uncomfortable. Half way through my x rays the tech states that we would have to come back because they have to make storage in the system . Keep in mind we already waited 3 hours and now we have to come back . I asked for the inconvenience of the company if they can schedule us a appointment since we have already waited and this is a company issue not our issue . The supervisor said unfortunately you have to miss another day of work and come back or try a different location . We both missed a day of work calculating $200+ we missed out on and now we have to come back due to them not having enough storage equalling out an average $400 and still have to wait because they don't do Appointments how ridiculous. When I asked for a note for work the representative was like your attorney can help out with that . And when I asked for another note stating why we had to come back to see them she goes unfortunately we can't provide that . So everything here is just very unprofessional and unorganized. Due to there unprofessionalism our job is at risk when we had done nothing wrong . Our claim may be denied because of the time that passes of not having the x rays done . And we are in pain and can not start official treatment with the chiropractor until x rays are completed . Every-time we see a chiropractor we are being charged for a therapy we aren't even receiving because they require x rays . Please if you are considering letting this company help you with your breast cancer PLEASE do not use Simon Med!!! They tried to perform a needle guided biopsy that turned into a terrible infection. To add insult to injury they billed me for items that they did not perform and are INSISTING that I pay the bill. I sent a letter and they did not respond. I had to keep calling them because they were sending me threatening letters to pay the bill. BUT I kept telling them that the bill was wrong and their doctors on top of it the delayed my cancer care. July 1, 2021, I arrived on time for my appt. and was told it would be 1 hour wait. Instead I waited 2 1/2 hours for scheduled MRIs on both elbows. MRI Tech was not sure how to position me for MRIs and said it would be "tricky". I explained to him I had rheumatoid arthritis thinking he would understand and be careful how he positioned me for MRI. I also noticed he picked 3 pillows from a corner that had been in dirty linen basket area. He did cover the 3 pillows with a clean folded sheet and since I waited 2 1/2 hours to be seen I felt I didn't have a choice but to be okay with clean sheet covering 3 dirty pillows. After he positioned me on my stomach for MRI and pushed me into MRI "tunnel" both my wrists were in pain and the position I was put in was very uncomfortable, but I endured 2 MRI procedures. After MRIs were completed, Tech knew I was in pain and all he could say was "we have MRI equipment that is wider than this one!" I was speechless when he said this after what I went through and just walked out. After waiting 2 1/2 hours to be seen and leaving in unnecessary excruciating pain, there's nothing I can do to remedy this. read more
