This office charged me a copay even though my insurance said I didn't have one. They claimed to have verified it with insurance while I was there, which cannot be true since insurance told me that I didn't have a copay. If I refused to pay, they could refuse to see me. I paid. After it went through insurance and the service was paid in full by the insurance company, SimonMed did not tell me I had a credit. My husband had the same encounter, but instead of providing a refund or telling us he had a credit balance, they claim to have applied it to another visit even though we paid for that visit as well. I wouldn't go there unless you have money to burn and can wait for refunds to process. read more

My primary care provider ordered both a mammogram and an ultrasound due to my medical history, which includes two prior lumpectomies. When I arrived at SimonMed, the front desk and reception staff were absolutely wonderful. Kind, professional, and doing their best despite the facility running about 20 minutes behind schedule. Unfortunately, my experience took a sharp turn once I was taken back for imaging. The technician, Monica, informed me she was only going to perform a mammogram and stated there was "no need" for the ultrasound that my doctor had specifically ordered. While I do not have a medical background, I strongly believe a technician should not override or deny imaging ordered by a physician. When I explained that the ultrasound was likely ordered due to my medical history, she stated she would not complete it without prior pathology reports (something I was never informed ahead of time that I needed to bring). I asked if she could contact my primary care provider directly, and her response was that it was "too messy" and that I could call instead. I found the response to be shocking and incredibly unprofessional, and chose to contact my doctor to request the report. I also explained that I would be leaving the country for an extended period and needed to complete everything my doctor ordered during this visit. Only after I continued to advocate for myself did she finally complete both the mammogram and the ultrasound as originally prescribed. I want to be very clear: the ultrasound experience and the reception staff were phenomenal, compassionate, and professional. However, the mammogram portion, specifically the interaction with this technician, was stressful, dismissive, and completely avoidable. Because of this interaction, I do not feel comfortable returning to this facility, despite how outstanding the rest of the staff was. Patients should never have to fight for care that has already been deemed necessary by their physician... especially when dealing with something as serious and personal as breast health. read more

I had just buried my 59-year-old sister two days prior after she passed away from cancer. I walked into this appointment as a grieving and vulnerable person, hoping for clarity and care. Before arriving, I was told over the phone by a SimonMed representative that my follow-up imaging would be included in my original self-pay amount. When I politely relayed this information to the front desk staff, the situation quickly became uncomfortable. Staff members discussed me within earshot as if I weren't present and repeatedly called out my full name across the lobby, which felt both unprofessional and a breach of privacy. I was then told that while insured patients would not be charged, as a self-pay patient I would need to pay $450. While I am able to pay this fee, I have chosen to take my business elsewhere due to the way this interaction was handled. During my visit, I also witnessed an elderly gentleman being spoken to in a similarly dismissive manner when he was told his appointment had been canceled due to equipment issues. The tone used toward him felt unnecessarily harsh and lacked basic courtesy. Healthcare settings--especially those involving cancer screening--require a higher level of compassion, discretion, and professionalism. I strongly encourage management to consider improvements in patient communication, privacy practices, and overall customer service. From the moment my doctor sent over the order, the experience at this facility started off overwhelming. I was bombarded with automated phone calls, emails, and texts--far more than necessary--and they continued even after I had already scheduled my appointment. Unfortunately, things didn't improve when I arrived at the Surprise location. The front desk staff were not welcoming or helpful. They treated me more like a transaction than a patient, offering little to no assistance. On top of that, they charge a 3% fee for using a credit card, which feels unreasonable--especially when the alternative is using a debit card, something not everyone is comfortable doing for larger medical expenses. The technician experience was just as disappointing. During my CT scan, I explained that I'm not good with needles, but that didn't seem to matter. The IV insertion was rushed, and as a result, my vein was blown. I started feeling unwell afterward, and instead of showing care or concern, the technician seemed more focused on protecting herself from liability--bringing in a doctor via iPad briefly--then quickly moving me along and out the door. What really stood out was the complete lack of follow-up. I left swollen, bruised, and honestly scared about what had happened. No one called to check on me. I had to reach out to my primary care physician myself for guidance. I've been to other locations and had much better experiences, so I know this isn't how it has to be. But this particular facility clearly needs improvement--especially when it comes to patient care, communication, and basic compassion. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and genuinely nice. When you encounter staff like this, you can tell they love their job and are treated right. I had a very positive experience with SimonMed. I scheduled a walk-in mammogram for myself and also had a physician-ordered MRI. The young woman who helped schedule my appointments was kind, patient, and provided clear instructions to ensure I was well-prepared. Although there was a 45-minute delay on the day of my appointments due to a previous patient running over, it wasn't an issue since I had no other plans. To begin with they send you constant texts and emails reminding you to be there 15 minutes before your appointment. I had an appointment for 9:30 arrived at 9:10. By 10:15 i had it and left. It was for a ct chest Scan which takes 10 minutes. They still are overbooking. I tried to give them another shot after 3 years. FORGET IT! Still as bad as it always was. My CT scan appointment was at 8AM. Got a call on the way to my appointment that the Technician would not arrive in their office for another 40 minutes for some reason. Once I arrived at their office, the Technician was still not there - and there were 3 people ahead of me waiting for the same Technician. The icing on this melting cake was there was also major construction going on right next door, and the saw and hammering noises were crazy loud. There was no way that I could have sat there for possibly another hour waiting for my name to be called. I will reschedule, but not at this location. They definitely need to alert patients about and construction AND also their Technicians need to be reliable. If I can give no star, I would. The girls at the front are extremely rude and unprofessional not to mention, the place looks horrible. Lights don't work, extremely dark, filthy as hell. I did X-ray few days ago and I was told their internet went down and can't give you the results in a CD. I was asked to come back the next day. I came back 2 days later and waited in line for someone to acknowledge. They finally did, o asked for the CD as I have a doctor's appointment and need those today. I was told, I have 2 I am making already, and if I can go to the Sun city location. She went on and said, they have 3 girls there and can do it. Very poorly run facility. Go elsewhere. I made my appointment on Thursday for Friday CT scan and X-rays. Waiting room was rather crowded; no one was at desk. There was a sign that said X-ray machine was broken. I further learned that X-ray machine had been down all week. Why weren't the people making appointments at the call center informed of this? Several people came in for X-rays including some rather fragile looking elderly people who had to then turn around and leave. Getting in and out of their cars was probably a chore in and of itself. The waiting room was not very clean. Simon Medical needs to put money into training its staff in communicating with their clientele as well as into setting up their waiting area with matching furniture that is sanitized. The facility I finally got my X-ray at was much more organized all the way around and were having everyone wear masks due the high incidence of flu in the area. They had a well set up pleasant desk staff to sign you in and a very pleasant waiting area with gorgeous photography displayed on the walls. read more

If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Disappointed doesn't even come close to describing my experience with SimonMed. First appointment when I showed up, I was informed their system went down and they couldn't do my testing. No call to let me before? Rescheduled for a later date, then they informed me they couldn't do my testing without seeing my prior testing results from my out of state imaging provider. This is a problem because SimonMed functions like a 90's company and won't share medical records via PowerShare (which every doctor's office and my previous imaging company uses) or a provider link. They will only take a CD, which is old school, absurdly outdated, and absolutely behind the times. Shame on SimonMed wasting critical time for people who put their lives and imaging trust in this company. read more

When trying to make an appointment many weeks ago I wasn't able to for about a week because their system was down. I was finally able to get an appointment on 3/17. I came in and tried to register but was told their system was down and a technician was on the way. Be prepared to be delayed 40 minutes to an hour. How can a company that relies on some of the most advanced medical technology not be able to keep their network up and running?? I have gone to this location in the past and had no issues. The past three visits have not been that experience. My husband and I have gone and left due to multiple issues with the front desk having an attitude about insurance coverage for my scans. On two occasions, for myself, it meant going to the location multiples time for one scan due to to the inept insurance verification system. My husband just went and was told we were wrong about his coverage even though he had the information with us. Over the last year or so the front desk have been combative and not helpful at all. I would suggest that there be sensitivity training around people and insurance coverage. They called me the night before and said my appointment was canceled due to machine problems. Didn't even leave a call back number on the voicemail. They use a call center with foreigners who have no understanding of how to do their job. It took me 2 calls and over an hour to reschedule for another 10 days out. Day of appointment finally arrives. They ask me to complete forms I've already completed online, then after 20 minutes the receptionist tells me that they do not perform the type of service here and they need to reschedule me for 3 more weeks at a different location. She says a manager will have to "call me back later today." THE LEVEL OF INCOMPETENCE IN THIS COMPANY IS TRULY BAFFLING TO THE MIND. read more

If you feel like dealing with incompetent receptionists. Waiting hours past your appt time while 45 people go ahead of you because they didn't correctly check in then go here. I even checked in through text and email from home sending in my drivers license, insurance card and copies of both orders. Ultrasound and Xray. Then I also checked in with through the text app when I arrived. I did ultrasound. And was in and out. Them I checked in for Xray! An hour and 45 minutes later after 40 people have came in and went out I asked again. They hadn't checked me in. Did have the order for the Xray. So basically it's pointless to waste the time doing online check in, email check in, text check in and taking pictures of your orders, ID card and medical card! Keep loosing orders. My husband scheduled X-rays on Friday. Man he spoke with for scheduling said "yes I have your order, I'm looking right at it". Shows up Monday early morning for his appointment and front desk staff said there is no order. Husband calls his surgeon and they resend the order. Simon Med calls back to say they received the order and schedule another appt for Tuesday am. Husband goes to Tues am appointment and front desk staff AGAIN says they have no order. You can't even schedule an appt with orders so obviously they have them somewhere. I don't know what's going on with the staff here but this is ridiculous. How do you receive orders, say you got them, schedule the appointment then the next day don't have them? If we could give zero stars we would. read more

Terrible experience. Walk in for xrays on website say until 4:30 I taje tine off from work and get there at 4 to be tokd thay are stopping xrays early. No reason. I can see the Xray tech is here taking people back so I explain that I took time off and could they please fit me in. They say no and that Sun City location does walkins until 5. I go to Sun City and get there at 4:30 to be told that they also stopped doing Xrays and that the tech has left. I'm obsiously frustrated and the girl at the counter is very empathetic and says she doesnt blame me and that this happens all the time. She also goes on to say that it's terrible that they keep doing this and that it's not fair to patients. Two were on the phone and the one that wasn't (dark hair, wearing big glasses sitting to the far right near the front door) had a real attitude. She clearly is not happy working there. Very unfriendly, no smile, slamming papers, barking orders. Facility is very old and outdated and doesn't feel very clean. I'll be looking for a new place to go for my next exam. read more

I only have been a couple of times in my life, but the facility is clean and super fast. It was like a 3 minute car wash only I didn't come out any cleaner. Busy moms kmow how sometimes we tend not to take care of ourselves as we are busy looking after everyone else. I have has a habit the past 6 years of not drinking enough water though that is pretty much all I drink. Maybe a glass a day if that? Well I have been taking better care of myself and drinking more water. Kidney stones had developed due to dehydration so now they are all coming out. Had a CT scan just to check status as it had been a couple years and I have been having flank pain every day. Nothing I can't handle. The staff super nice and fast. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I did have an appointment and arrived 15 minutes early to fill out a tiny bit of paperwork. read more

I'm only giving it one because I have to Give a number. i Was scheduled for a critical test that required prior authorization. I have been scheduled then rescheduled but this last time I called my Dr office and they said it was approved and gave me the # which I gave to agent and she said she emailed it to their prior authorization dept and rescheduled me. I had to go off meds 48 hours prior to test so was off them just like last time. They sent another email this morning saying they haven't received authorization but when told they have and again giving them the number and stating both Dr and health insurance have told me my test was approved till 1/8/26 they put you on hold and never come back and put you to survey. In other words hung up. I called my cardiologist office and asked them to send it to Banner. I'm so done with simon med. horrible service. Will never recommend them. But soon 45 minutes became an hour an hour became an hour and a half and then it became two hours and 15 minutes after my appointment is when I finally was able to receive my service. I'm so disheartened at my experience today at this SimonMed location. I was scheduled for a mammogram and ultrasound for a prexisiting lump and scheduled last week with a live person. I also completed online check in forms disclosing that I've had previous imaging done and shared what locations, when, contact information etc. Today I arrived early for my appt and was taken back shortly after. The tech that was with me was named Monica and asked why I hadn't followed up with previously imaging done, I just explained I hadn't and that the lump has changed and I'm meeting with a surgeon who wanted updated imaging and I already have that scheduled. She told me we'd have to reschedule because they need former imaging to compare and I told her I wasn't informed of that nor was I asking them to compare since my surgeon is going to do that at my upcoming appointment. She stated it was policy so I asked to speak to a manager. She then left and returned telling me the manager Kayla was unavailable and not at that office. I wanted to point out, I had ALL of my documents from other appointments along with 4 discs of imaging done in the past WITH ME IN MY PURSE, and was able to hand them to her but still she refused to do new images even though, 1- I was never told and 2- I literally had the discs of images in my hand. She took copies of my documents and said she was going to hold onto my discs and images and I was literally in tears and just told her to return them to me. What I'm most upset about is not once did Monica apologize that I was misinformed or offer reassurance that she would try to help me. When I pointed this out to her she just stared at me with a blank face. Someone in her profession requires compassion and a genuine care to want to help people through difficult and scary situations and she lacked any form of human compassion toward me today. Shame on her and SimonMed for not being more upfront about their "policies" neither on the phone during scheduling OR with their online check in documents. I am a reasonable person and I LIVE for positive reviews. Yes I am upset and I even raised my voice while crying my eyes out and told her this policy and the way it was being handled was bulls#%!. Not my finest moment but I'm honestly so disgusted at he she just didn't even pretend to try and care. Compassion and kindness go a long way in this world and Monica should think about that when she's basically refusing to help someone. read more

I make an appt for a CT and the notification I get is for an xray, the same cray on two different dates, and this is only one of many booking problems! I then tell them to cancel one of the appointments and they tell me that if I cancel the appt, they will need a new order from the doctor. That is an absolute LIE!!! I have tiny veins it is difficult to draw blood or do iv's. I tried Simon med for the 1st time and they were unable to get the iv in. They rescheduled me for the following week and they still were unable to get iv in correct. I left called my doctors and had them send me to banner imaging. Lobby is outdated with used furniture that looks dirty and old, and isn't commercial medical. Not enough seating for waiting customers so everyone was standing while there was plenty of room to add commercial medical furnishings. Even just a bunch of bench without a back would help. Place had a weird odor. I usually go to Biltmore location and will be returning there in the future until this location receives an adequate TI budget from ownership. Staff appeared somewhat overwhelmed and there is a sign saying "short staffed, please be patient". So that made sense. They were polite. Also no masks were available or worn with what could be sick people getting X-rays. read more

Had a Stat chest X-ray this morning fr pneumonia. It's 4:30 pm now and Simon and my pcp office closes at 5. It's still not been read!!!!!if I have pneumonia I won't be able to be treated till Monday which is not acceptable since I could be in hospital by then. What does STAT mean?!!!!! read more

In the past it was pretty good but last December 2023, I sat for an hour then overheard someone being told that a technician had not come in and they were still waiting for that technician. So once the technician got there, it still would be nearly an hour. I did not have time to wait so I left with the idea that I could reschedule. When I went to reschedule, I couldn't get in for a month. Then when I went in basically the same thing happened that I waited 30 to 40 minutes and no one was there to do the test. So once again, I left and called for an appointment in Surprise. That was another month wait and when I went in, I accidentally gave them a pharmacy card rather than my secondary insurance card, which then took 40 minutes for them to come up with that fact, and I couldn't have the test that day. So two weeks later, making an appointment with SMIL, I got in with almost no waiting time. It was disconcerting, because Simon Med had been good until that time when I had to wait so long. The tech for bone density was all about her. Single mother raising child on her own, working and going to school. Her Father is her landlord but she's not the priority for him. Her AC has been out for 2 days and she is not the priority because her father is her landlord. . Music playing loud and dancing in her chair while asking me if I had a history of osteoporosis or cancer. Oh my gosh! Please help her realize the professionalism necessary for her position. She stated she was getting a scholarship. Working and going to school while being a single mother. Social skills need to come in place for this field due to the difficulty of some results to individuals. It can be a very traumatic experience. I did not feel it was appropriate for me to honestly discuss with her or I would have done so. Simon Med Imaging please consult with those in your field . The next Mammogram tech was totally professional, kind and appropriate in ALL aspects! I'm sad to share this experience about my bone density tech. read more

I called to make an apt and get on the calendar for a MRI and was not able to do until they had the orders. I was then robocalled back later by Simonmed to schedule after they received my Drs orders, after several 30+ minute waits on the phone I finally got in weeks later. Appointment day was today, I got there early and waited over 30 minutes to be told they don't have my orders!?!? They were completely unhelpful in regards to the situation. So a friend went wend this week (after getting the reminder text for that day, she thought it was Friday) She sat there an hour before they told her it was the wrong day! She showed them the text and they didn't react. She back today, Waited an hour and they won't do it because they only scheduled the MRI and the ultrasound has to be done the same day and it was not scheduled. She is awaiting the call to schedule them both together now Again the paperwork was in front of them... they do the scheduling and should have known.
