We were in town visiting from Seattle and needed a quick bite of lunch. Menu had a large variety. I was worried that if they offered too many different Asian cuisines, that none would be done really well, but we were pleasantly surprised. We got the General Tso wings which were really good. Nice and saucy. Also got Pad Thai. Not a typical Pad Thai that I'm used to, but it still hit the spot. Hubby also got pho. This review is not about the food, which has always been good. The owner, Simon, has anger management issues. A group of 8 to 10 of us dined there on occasional Sundays for many years, totaling many dozens of visits. One of our group would give them a heads up on what time and the number of people. The issue is that the owner gets mad for trivial reasons including there being one or two more than were called in. Today he exploded at the group, yelling at several of us (we are all elderly). Needless to say, we are done with Simon's. He is turning away several hundred dollars of revenue per visit as we won't be going back. read more

We wanted to try some new chinese places in the area so we started here. We went in on a weekend and it wasn't busy. We were seated and greeted right away which was awesome. We were brought some water and menus. We were given plenty of time to decide what we wanted and never felt rushed. Nor did it feel like we were all alone, lol! We ordered the General Tso chicken and chicken lowmein with a side of rice. This place is fantastic and the food is delicious. We dine here regularly because the food is consistently delicious. I always have the Thai Basil Beef which is absolutely amazing. Sweet and spicy and it is worthy of a food magazine picture the way it is served. The vegetables are fresh and the jalepenos are huge. Hubby always tries anything and almost every dish and most of the time he enjoys it. I think he's had one dish he didn't care for. He likes seafood. I do not. Service is excellent and they seem to do a lot of door dash type stuff. For Thai food this is our go to place. Tried other places and they just can't compete when it comes to flavor. I overlooked this place for awhile. From the outside, it didn't look busy anytime I passed. I suspect they do a lot of to go orders like many businesses do these days. I was surprised when I finally tried them on how amazing their food was. Tried the Phad Kee Mao, a Thai noodle dish and it was delicious! We've been going back a few times a week now. Also, love their Thai Basil Chicken dish. It has similar flavors to the Phad Kee Mao but I eat it with their white rice instead of the flat thick white noodles. This restaurant has got to be my favorite go to when I am craving for an Asian cuisine. Pho broth is one of the best I have tried in Port Orchard. I highly recommend their pho, garlic butter chicken wings, crispy calamari and pad Thai. Their lunch specials are served very generously for the price. I ordered the viet crepes and Family Meal A which comes with sweet and sour chik, Mongolian chik and broccoli beef. The meal also comes with 3 apps which are 2 egg rolls, 2 cheese rangoons and 2 pieces of BBQ pork. Along with the meal is rice and soup, I chose fried rice and egg drop for ours. So the crepes were extremely firm, my jaw was tired from eat half of one. The order comes with 2 crepes filled with onions, shrimp, bean sprouts and carrots. The filling was great but the actual crepe was just so hard. I was struggling to finish it but I did lol....ofcourse. My family really liked the food, I'm sure they'll come here again when they're craving chinese. I wouldn't order the crepes again, they were insanely hard to eat considering they are called crepes and crepes are generally soft. I would eat here again and try a different dish. read more

I found Simon's Pan Asian Bistro to be friendly, clean, and delicious. I was there for lunch and chose the daily special. There were 25 or more entrees to chose from. I picked the Mongolian Beef which came with egg drop soup, a small crispy egg roll and fried rice. I also ordered hot tea. The soup was hot and delicious with a lot of egg in it. The egg roll was crispy but not unique in filling or flavor. The beef entree was delicious, spicy but not overly so. There were 2 small chili pods in the dish of white and green onions, Rich sauce and tender beef. There are many other dishes to explore, so I will be back!! First off, the butter garlic wings are AMAZING!!!! I could eat so many. The onions and peppers with them are so amazing too and the wings have the perfect crispness. The chow was kind of bland, but a large serving for the price and nothing a little soy sauce couldn't fix. My husband also really loved his sesame chicken, which also was a large portion. Port Orchard WA First time here. Saw it was more of a Vietnamese menu and hopefully had my favorite dish, crispy noodle combination. It did! I have this particular dish as often as I see it on a menu. This one was average. Had everything but bbq pork. Flavor was good but carrots tasted off. Thin noodles also, not my favorite. Simon's is a regular for us. We have difficult to feed children and parents, no meat, no spice, extra spicy, dairy allergy, meat of any kind. It's difficult to have a meal at home that satisfies the needs of everyone. It gets hard, so we head to Simon's and everyone can be happy. I like the pho, Singapore curry, the Vietnamese crepes, kung pao. There is a pretty good assortment and everyone seems to be satisfied, so much so that it's our go to family gathering meeting place; we can feed two sets of grandparents, children, fiancés and ourselves. read more

We've been to Simon's a few times recently. It's a fairly nice restaurant, always clean and the food is good. I would have given it 5 stars except for their prices. Their lunch specials are good, but they are up to $15 now, and the last time I ordered it I was brought Mongolian chicken instead of the Mongolian beef that I ordered. I decided to try it, and to me, it was not nearly as good as the beef. The vermicelli noodle bowls with shrimp and pork are excellent, but are now up to $20 - so 2 of those with nothing else and with just water to drink will run you $48 with tip. Other than the $15 lunch specials, all of the menu items are the same price during the day or evening hours. read more

First time going to Simons today. Tried to call at 4:30pm and no one answered. Called twice more to no response. Went down to order in person thinking maybe they are busy. Came in to 5 tables full. Waited for about 5 minutes until a women came. Told her I would like to order takeout. She said she'd be back. Waited another 10 minutes even hearing her tell another worker I was waiting to order. After another couple minutes still no one! I don't know if they didn't have help or what but if I have to wait 20 minutes to make an order they apparently don't need my business. read more

I had dinner here a few nights ago after a hike in Olympic. I arrived around dinner time and had no trouble being seated right away. The place was unremarkable in terms of decor, but it was clean, and service was good. I ordered hot and sour soup and Hunan beef. The hot and sour soup was decent, but I did not care for it being finished with cilantro. I am not a cilantro hater by any means. I just didn't think it belonged in the soup. The Hunan beef confused me. The beef was tender enough, but the sauce was more sweet than it was spicy. All and all, this was an okay experience. read more

FLAVOR!! Strong recommendation. If you too notice the lack of flavor in WA, then you too have been missing good (non whitebread) places. This is now my favorite pan-asian restaurant. The ambiance is way better than most restaurants in WA. If it had booths, fancy lighting, non-tiled ceiling, & a better location, they'd be charging $20+ per entry, but it's in a strip mall and has dated tables, so the meal is affordable. I'm giving Simon five stars and I almost never do that. This place was the first restaurant we visited after moving to the South Kitsap peninsula in 2021. We knew nothing about what any Asian restaurants in the area were like. We were frazzled, tired and had no time to cook during the move. We were pleasantly surprised to find a place that offered Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes all under one roof, and, frankly, never have found any place that did everything, or even two of these, well, so our expectations were not real high. We met Simon and he graciously recommended a few dishes he was proud of and we picked a couple more that sounded good. We were pretty blown away by how good they all were. We are no strangers to authentic Asian food, having lived and traveled in Asia and also frequented well-known eateries in the international districts of many big cities over the years, notably Seattle. No, it is not the most authentic and there can be missteps like tough beef or something occasionally, but compared to the other places we've tried in the area this one is clearly better. Simon's has become a regular stop for us. It has never been crowded at any time we went, which is probably borderline criminal for a place this good, and in this area. This is not a Chinese buffet, folks, if that's the level of experience you want. Again, five stars, largely because there really is nothing else like this that we've found in this area that compares. Picked this up for Christmas Eve dinner. Ordered sesame chicken, cashew chicken, General Tso's, fried rice, steamed rice, sautéed green beans and a side of low mein noodles. Everything was cold when we got it and there were no fortune cookies. All of the fried chicken was very dry in the middle. We realized this once we got home which was disappointing because Simons was already closed and we didn't have any rice to make. The salad rolls were on point! Today I stopped in for dinner for the first time, and I now have a new favorite place to eat! The restaurant was very clean and quiet. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered the family dinner for two. The meal started with soup, and the Hot and Sour soup was delicious! Then came appetizers: BBQ pork, Cheese Wonton and an Egg roll. These were all delicious! The main course was Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Mongolian Beef. These dishes were all fresh, with fresh vegetables. Nothing was sitting in a warmer, none of the vegetables were frozen. The texture and flavor were perfect! I can't wait to come back and try more food. The server was a very nice guy. Portions are large. The reviews are deceptive. I don't know what to make of Asian restaurants in Port Orchard. There is no way the cooks who prepare this food serve this rubbish to their family......there is no possible way. Fried rice with no hint of soy sauce or seasoning, it was simply rice with protein, veggies, and oil. The beef in the 9 flavor beef was old...possibly pre-fried and sitting on standby, fried in old oil, and poorly tightened up by congealing cornstarch. It was inedible. The com dia, was the worst Vietnamese rice dish I have ever ate! The flavor in every dish clearly has been bastardized to appeal to those in this town. There has to be an Asian restauranteur that has the fortitude to not disrespect their dishes. The worse part of this whole experience is having to either throw away all this food or eating it tomorrow. This is sad. read more

I am so disappointed after getting food from here. Wanted some pho. I got a tofu and vegetable pho with litteraly only three pieces of uncooked tofu. The pho didn't taste fresh and it was very salty. Then I reach for my veggie spring rolls for an uplift, but they were not spring rolls but fresh rolls with nothing but vermicelli noodles. Fresh, full-filling, delicious pan Asian cuisines! Me and my boyfriend stopped by this restaurant after we went to the gym. This is my second time coming here since this place had opened a long time ago. Every time I've gone the restaurant, it has been empty. The space is big, clean, and neat. We ordered the bahn mi sandwich and the vermicelli bun salad. These are my two favorite cuisines in the world and I was surprised to see it on the menu. I was expecting your typical teriyaki combo or is sweet and sour chicken. When our food came out, everything looked fresh. They were a big proportion and tasted good. I only wish there was more noodles in my vermicelli salad because that's what a bun salad should be. Service was nice, quick, and straight to the point. I feel like more people should eat here. This place has good quality Asian food. If you're looking for an Asian restaurant that has different cuisines like a bahn mi or vermicelli bun salad, then this place is where you should go. There's plenty of other Asian restaurants in Port Orchard that serve the typical Teriyaki Bowl are fried rice. Best Chinese food in Kitsap County, hands down! We moved here from San Diego where Asian food was plentiful but we're greatly disappointed with other places we tried until we found Simon's. Simon's is a weekly staple for us and we find ourselves even going here a few tomes a week. Some of our favorites include chicken chow fun, salt and pepper calamari, their Chinese egg rolls, Vietnamese spring rolls, honey walnut prawn and triple kung pao. Try the Thai ice tea made in house. It's the best Thai ice tea I've ever had. Owners and staff are very friendly and make you feel like part of the family. Simon, the owner and chef, even comes out from time to time to greet you and ask how you like the food. You don't find that in a lot of restaurants except mom and pops spots like Simon's.
