I see not everyone liked this place but it may be because people hang out and play games or sing karaoki on some occasions. I love the food here, a moderate price from an excellent cook. We eat only the vegetarian dishes so can't judge their meat dishes, but wow golly thiis place can do to make tofu glorious. The ambience and vibe of the place was very cozy and relaxed. The artwork was beautiful, and it the music very much added to the dining experience. The food was simply delicious, the flavors were upper rich and we tried a multitude of the foods. The broth was the best we've ever had, the Thai iced tea mixed to perfection, and the flavors bursting. We ordered fried rice, Thai iced tea, mango sticky rice, veggie stir fry, and chicken and veggie pho. The cherry on the cake though? The service. Very welcoming and kind. We will be coming again! After a day of feeling ill I thought pho and a noodle dish would be just the cure, and I've been meaning to try this place seeing it's very local and had good reviews. I'm not sure why. My husband tried the spring rolls, which he described as on the verge of rancid. I immediately put my pho together, shocked the meat came cooked, but whatever, tossed it in. Heck no, pulled that out. Thick sliced (compared to the shaved steak I'm used to in steak pho) and obviously chewy. I drank some of the broth, it was kind of nice. The phad se ew, I mean, what can I say, I didn't try it. It didn't smell good and didn't look at all like anything I'd want to eat--I've had that dish many times elsewhere, I've made it, this pile of carrots on glop was not appealing. They DID mostly refund me. Had to argue for it. And took the uneaten food back, lol, fine, I sure hope they tossed it. read more

I was in Bremerton today and drove past this little restaurant just on the other side of the bridge from the ferry terminal. It was just starting to rain and some hot food seemed like a good idea. Tamayo's 2 has a homey feel to it and the hand written menu has a nice selection of different Asian cuisines. We ordered the chicken pho, papaya salad and tamarind chicken. Everything was freshly prepared and wonderfully delicious! The papaya salad was zingy and subtle, not too sweet. The chicken pho was hearty and the broth had a nice depth of flavors, slightly herby. Perfect for the rainy day. My favorite was the tamarind chicken, which was cooked tender to perfection and the sauce was gingery, sweet and so good with the rice served on the side. My only complaint was the bench seats in the booth were hard and I had to bring the car cushions in for my companions. read more

I got lunch to-go for myself and my cousin at Tamayo's 2 today. It was the first time either of us had any food from there. The people were really friendly, and the food was ready pretty quickly. It was after lunch-rush time, so there was no one else in there. I got the tamarind duck, and my cousin got tamarind chicken. We also shared Tamayo's chicken curry. The curry was one of the best I've ever had, although it seemed a little more than 1 star spicy to me, so maybe err on the side of caution when choosing spiciness level. We didn't know what to expect from the tamarind sauce, having never had it before, but we both thought it was amazing. I would have the tamarind duck every day if I could. I briefly fantasized about moving to the Bremerton area so I could be near it. If you have the chance, do yourself a favor and try it. read more

I try not to give mom and pop shops low ratings but this place was ridiculous. It was very annoying having ppl playing ping pong less than 5 feet away from your table waiting for a ping ball to fly into your curry. Not acceptable to have a ping-pong table in the middle of a restaurant. For that alone I would not go back to this restaurant. Duck curry was decent. Bland but a lot of good veggies. Absolutely love this new spot in Manette! It's so refreshing to see new businesses pop up even during covid. I've eaten and ordered take out from them on 4 different occasions and each time it gets better and better. So far my favorite dishes are the Beef Sandwich, Shrimp Spring Rolls, and Curry Duck. I'd have to say the shrimp springs rolls are soooooo fresh and my favorite food to get. Some of the best I've ever had, and they are HUGE. Sometimes I get full off of just those and I cant eat anything else I've ordered. Looking forward to trying more items from the menu. read more

Food was so-so. The pork was so hard and dry it was like jerkey. Veggies could have used another minute of cooking with some seasoning. However, the service was very good until we got our food and we were ignored for a very long period before it came to pay our check. So, one time I was wandering around Manette with a friend and we decided to get bubble tea here. It took, I swear, 15 minutes for two bubble teas. Idk why- it was empty and had 3 people working. But today, I'm feeling under the weather so I door dashed myself some stuff. #1 the potstickers have landed high on the list of my favorite potstickers. They're that good! They arrived still hot and crispy and jam packed with flavor. #2 chicken pho was delicious. It had a bit of a unique flavor I can't put my finger on, which was yummy. It came disassembled which I think works best for takeout. #3 my partner absolutely devoured the crab rangoons before I even had a chance to ask how they were, lol. Oh My Gosh! I don't think it's possible to have a bad experience at TAMAYO's 2. The staff is so friendly and willing to explain about what you're ordering. My Lao Curry was cooked to perfection. They asked me my spice level preference and nailed it! A succulent, spicy blend of zucchini, Thai eggplant, pork and curry. Don't forget to order appetizers. The crab Rangoon's pastry was light, crispy, and didn't overpower the crab stuffing. The fried pork rolls come with fresh lettuce wraps, an assortment of herbs, tangy sesame sauce. I can't recommend it highly enough. If ever in Bremerton, you have to give this fine establishment a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

I was exploring Manette with my family and some friends and popped in for lunch on a whim. We were a party of five. There was one person there who I'm guessing is the owner. It was a one-person show, taking orders, cooking, and serving and she was on it. I was impressed. My daughter ordered the fried tofu which we all really liked. It was not what I was expecting, but I liked the texture and light crispness of the tofu. The sauce was really good, lightly sweet and perfect with the tofu. My husband got the potstickers, but inhaled it before I got to taste it so must've been good. I ordered the prawn pho and the flavor was really, really good. I haven't ordered a seafood pho in years, typically sticking to beef, but I'm glad I did. The portion was perfect (one size) for me. I'm almost never in this area, but if I were nearby definitely would return and highly recommend. read more

This place is so good we ate 2 meals from Tamayo's in one day. First we grabbed a couple fresh shrimp rolls (definitely fresh, stuffed with veggies, and delicious) and a vietnamese coffee (on point) for a snack while running errands. We took another look at the menu on our way out the door and knew we had to try more. After a long day of errands and yard work we put in an order of pork ribs and tamarind duck. The ribs have a fantastic taste and smoke flavor with just the right amount of chew/pull to them; served with a yummy fish sauce. And the duck was by far the best duck I've had all year and the tamarind sauce over rice warmed my soul after being outside most of this cool, windy fall day. We found this place several months ago and are still so happy we did. It is family owned & the owners are very nice and fun to talk to. The food is excellent! Our favorite is still the tamarind duck - the duck is so tender that it melts in your mouth. And that tamarind sauce is the perfect sticky blend of sweet and sour! Cannot recommend enough! I was hesitant to try this spot, mostly because of the limited seating options and reviews but i was very wrong. The food here is delicious! I've only had takeout option, but everything was as expected and service was prompt. We had the Lao sausage, Tamarind chicken, papaya salad, and fresh spring rolls with pork. The ingredients used are very fresh, and spices hit the spot! Portion sizes are good, not excessive but definitely filling. I highly recommend the pork fresh rolls, and the tamarind chicken. Have been ordering Tamayo's via Grub hub and have had delicious food every time. Hubs loves their pad see ew 5 star heat and 5 star delicious. Their Tamayo's Curry is red and contains eggplant, basil, green beans etc. So good. And a new addition to our dining delights is Kuah Me. Once you add that sweet sauce to it you just say oh my what a lovely surprise! Their vermicelli salad is excellent as well. I have not eaten in the restaurant, so I can't help with ambiance or server ability, but for delicious and consistently excellent food, this little gem in Manette is a keeper! read more
