I was looking for good lunch specials after going through a long drive in the area. We saw this spot was offering it for a good price so we stopped by. The outside of the restaurant looks a bit shady but once you go inside, you see a welcoming site of an elegant restaurant twith plenty of lighting, tables and chairs. The service was okay, the female employee who helped us felt dismissive while forcing politeness. She came by too quickly when we were browsing their decently sized menu. Eventually, I got their Kung Pao chicken with fried rice and egg flower soup while my boyfriend got their almond chicken with fried rice and egg flower soup. The food was pretty good and generous for what you pay for. The fried rice had a very pale color, which I wasn't used to. This food is so fresh! I've been past this place 100 times but this was my first time there. We went for lunch and we were the only ones in the restaurant. There is plenty of seating with booths and tables for large parties. We ordered cream cheese wontons, oyster beef, and Kung pao chicken. It was served with house fried rice. The meat in both dishes was cooked perfect. Tender and flavorful and the veggies still had some crunch to it. The rice was ok, tasted like it had been sitting all day and/or reheated. This was a take out order and our first time trying this establishment. Upon walking in customer service was excellent and the spaces appeared to be very clean. Our food was ready on time and was correct. Two qualities I really appreciate! The food was cooked well but the fried items (chicken wings and almond chicken) were over done and a little dry. We've lived in central Kitsap for nearly 37 years and had never visited this restaurant. But after attending an afternoon show at the Bremerton Admiral Theater, my wife and I decided we'd call in a takeout order. Food was ready in about 15-20 minutes and we were very pleasantly surprised when we got home. We ordered the Butter Garlic Chicken Wings ($9.95), Salty Peppered Calamari ($10.95), Black Bean Delight ($14.50), and Tofu Chow Mein ($11.95). The wings were nice and big and the meat very tender, though not enough garlic for me. The calamari was pretty tasty and served with a sweet red and green bell pepper sauce. Salt & Pepper Squid is one of my favorite dishes and this might be the only Chinese restaurant in Kitsap that has it. I've ordered it many times in Seattle and Portland, where it's generally REALLY good! The Black Bean delight was totally delicious and comes with chicken, beef, prawns, and scallops with lots and lots of veggies and baby corn on the cob. Only downside is the beef was rather tough and chewy. The Chow Mein was pretty standard and could have used more tofu. I've had better, but it passed the test. All stir fry items were huge quantities...enough for two good meals for the two of us. I'll return because I thought the food here was better and they have more menu items than Emperor's Palace and Golden Star. read more

Just tried their food today and ordered the orange chicken with pork fried rice. The rice was good but the chicken was terrible, it's not even chicken and is some kind of imitation meat/fish with rubber and stringy fibers. Needless to say I will not be ordering from here again due to the chicken not even being real chicken. read more

We decided to drive from Seattle to check out this place and consignment shop. This place was dark, dank, and depressing inside. When we arrived, there were 3 people eating at 2 tables and the staff there couldn't keep up. It took several minutes to get seated. When we were seated, we were asked about drinks. We asked for water and tea. 5 minutes later we got water, at that point, I asked when we could expect tea. About 5 minutes later the tea came. We ordered a meal; the soup came and was room temperature. When the meal came, they got the order wrong, they took everything back to the kitchen and came back 5 minutes later with a corrected meal. The plate was cold, it was clear that nothing was made fresh. It was completely disgusting. Everything was bad and wrong and our BBQ pork didn't even come with mustard, ketchup, or sesame seeds. After a couple bites, we pushed the plate back and when the server asked what was wrong, we told him exactly what we shared here. He said it got busy and the kitchen got confused. That said, our order was still wrong, the food was still gross, and we were still charged. One person waiting for their to go order witnessed our experience and when he walked out, he stopped at our table and said, "Can you imagine this place if it were actually busy?" I can tell you, this place should be avoided, no telling how many Chinese places we passed on our 70 mile journey. Good news is we found some great items antiquing, but China Wok is China Not! Good things our dogs like Chinese, because it's not fit for humans to eat!!! read more

Tried this place and was pleasantly surprised. Had the Mongolian beef (pretty awesome and like $15 came with noodles??? Ok I'm down was great) house chow main that came with huge portions of chicken pork and shrimp, was then $hit. And some won ton soup that was great too. All in all it was a lot of food for $40. The boxes were full as $hit. And was so flavorful that I didn't need to add any soy sauce or anything. I'm sure there are a lot of food pu$$ies that can't handle flavor, but these guys are the $hit. If you're driving down Callow on your way to the shipyard or the freeway there's a good chance you breezed right on by China Wok. It's unfortunate that this area doesn't get more foot traffic or this spot may be more popular for dine in. As it is, it's a bit of a ghost town and the inside is dated and dark. Callow hasn't quite seen the gentrification other areas of Bremerton has and it shows. The upside of the no-nonsense frills though is that prices here are more than affordable for huge portions and prompt service. We were here for dine in. None of the Chef's Specials include descriptions for the types of sauce just a list of proteins. Taking a chance, hubs went for the Happy Family since he was feeling seafood and I did orange chicken that comes with egg drop soup, fried rice and an egg roll. Thoroughly pleased with the flavors of everything we tried and plenty for leftovers. I will note though that while the Happy Family portion had a great assortment of veggies and beef it only contained one scallop and two shrimp which was a bit of a bummer. If dine in is not your thing, where they really excel is take out. Delivery is free within 4 miles if you order direct. Further than that you can find them on your favorite delivery platform. I know there are other Chinese options in Bremerton but China Wok should not be overlooked if you're looking for some bomb take out. read more

Au-then-tic!!! This China Wok is a low-key hidden gem of a spot. Thoroughly satisfied with everything I ordered AND their seasoned wok adds "That Part" that other places do not. Best fried rice I've had on the Kitsap peninsula in 4 years. Fried noodle veggie chowmein is tops as well. Tomato Beef was good (about a 4) and the Pork with spicy garlic sauce was comparable to another place (but still tops!). Except, this restaurant did not plan accordingly for the popularity of such an idea. Overwhelmed by online orders, they had no business seating us and taking our order when they knew there was no way we would be served. Been here a few times for lunch Togo. first time ordered the honey walnut chicken combo and the kung pao chicken combo. Honey walnut chicken is yummy and the egg roll was good. The king pao chicken was ok, was expecting it to be spicy but was not. Pork fried rice could use some work, was pretty bland. Also have had the spring rolls which were pretty yummy. Have also ordered the sweet and sour chicken which was a little disappointing, was mainly thick breading covering little pieces of chicken. Also have ordered the general tso's chicken which was really chewy chicken. on the upside ordered some steamed potstickers which were pretty good, kinda doughy but better than any others here in the area. We opened the sweet and sour chicken and they looked like plate of naked mole rats or perhaps some sort of science project. Not even edible. I thought is was under cooked...... Wrong! It was way over cooked. I should have took a video before I threw it out. The thing literally crumble to dust in my hand. All breading with a small chicken turd inside. Now I am fair and understand that people have off days but twice in the same night. Wow! The second photo is what they redelivered after we called them to let them know what happened. My wife called the next day cause they closed right after the 2nd delivery and ask to speak with a manager. Only to be told the management is out of town until after the Holidays. The food was just okay. My husband ordered the king pao chicken with hot garlic sauce dinner special and I ordered the sesame chicken. Husband said chicken has good flavor, a little spicy but he didn't care too much for the vegetables... which he mentioned they tasted canned aside from the bell peppers which seemed to be undercooked. He wasn't a fan of the pork fried rice either. My chicken was flavorful although I'd prefer smaller pieces and it to be a bit crispier but that's just my preference. Not sure we'd go back. read more

Got the Family meal (daughter's BF came as a surprise visit from Vancouver) and wanted to have a decent selection. Picked it up, brought it home and between the 6 of us, everyone was full and happy. A couple of highlights: the sliced BBQ Pork, REAL pork fried rice and Mongolian Beef were gone inside of 10 minutes. Pan fried Chicken Chow Mein and Teriyaki Chicken shortly after.
