So this place is a cool old dive bar with food! No smoking (hooray). We came on a Monday night for the $5 burger. OMG so impressed! Chef cooked it perfectly! I love this bar. It is one of my favorites in the area. There isn't a whole lot special to it, but that's the charm. It is beer and wine only, so do take note of that. They do have plenty of options in those categories though. It is currently smoker friendly inside. You'll see that in all the reviews. I have good insider knowledge that this won't be the case forever, but for the foreseeable future. They have pool, darts, a Megatouch machine for entertainment. A Tuneski jukebox so you can control what you're listening to. Prices are very reasonable, one of the cheapest bars in the area. The bartenders get to know you by your first name. The second time in they knew what I wanted to drink. It's definitely a locals spot. But it is one of those places that everyone is friendly. I've met many good people here. read more

Today is February 22nd 2024 it is 5:13 pm. I left home to enjoy a little peace, food and drink at simons pub. There was a bartender there by the name of patty i believe. She is Short & Heavy set. Her customer service and disrespect was something i have never experienced there. Everyone else there has great customer service skills. Today I purchased wine there she told me i couldn't drink inside or out. I didn't understand Because Every Time i go im able to drink wine there that i purchase there which i really enjoy. If you buy a bottle of wine at a restaurant aren't you able to enjoy it at that restaurant? I asked if she could call the owner to just confirm this confusion she told me she doesn't feel like its important enough. She felt that me as a customer was not important enough. At this point i didn't feel welcomed or respected as a customer. I asked for a refund immediately she told said "no". Then she told me i could only do a refund on the wine. Well i don't know about you but If im receiving bad customer i don't want any service! So i asked for a full refund at this point as the disrespect and lack of customer service continued. Her tone energy and body language was so negative towards me. She said "Im not doing a full refund" i asked why she just said "no" i respectfully explained that i was going to call the police to resolve this situation which could've been resolved with better customer service. 20 minutes later as im waiting on the police she brings out the food and drink i asked to be refunded as if nothing just happened. Very weird. Finally Clearwater Florida Officer arriza arrives and i explain to him everything. He explains there is nothing he can do very brief & careless. He said "its not a civil matter". Once again it wasn't important, it still didn't matter. Officer arriza explains "no need to go bk n forth" (as i didn't trust anything she was giving me) he said either refund the wine or this can go badly. Well im so sorry to waist his time right? Smh for some reason right wasn't right and irrelevant to him in this situation. I went to the bar ready to enjoy my experience...well that obviously didn't work in my favor. I have been defeated! Lack of customer service and disrespect at simons pub as won today! read more

If you are a non smoker and do not like smoke stay away from this place. I've been here at least a half dozen times with friends that live nearby and the price and service have always been great plus plenty of seats and two pool tables. However. The last two times the smoke has been horrible that you notice it as soon as you walk in the door and if smoke bothers you it is so strong that you won't even want a single drink. If you do stay for a drink you will need to shower once you get home and wash your clothes several times to even get the smell partially out. If you are a smoker then this is not a bad place to check out of in the area. read more

Smoking allowed inside. Dark inside but grab a beer from the bar and sit. There are some table available if you would rather sit away from the bar. Friendly and clean inside. Bartender was friendly as was a patron who liked our plates on our vehicle. We have been twice now and would return as long as we are in the mood for a smoking bar. read more

We have lived a couple blocks away from Simons for over 10 years now, and had only gone there a couple times due to the heavy smoke smell inside. We heard that the place had been sold, and better yet, they got rid of smoking indoors in early December of 2022. The new owner very kindly created an outdoor space where smokers could still partake without bothering the folks inside. We decided to give Simon's another try last month and are we glad that we did. Not only is the smoke smell gone, but they're now also serving a limited food menu. We have eaten there three times now, and each time we ordered something different (the Reuben, the Patty Melt, and the Greek Salad). All of them were excellent, and better yet, the prices are incredibly reasonable. They also serve into the late evening after many of the places in downtown Dunedin are either closed or have quit serving food. Like many of the previous reviewers have noted, Simon's is what most would consider a dive bar. Having said that, they have a great beer selection, the bartenders we've met to date are very nice, and the patrons who were in the bar were very friendly too. We highly recommend this place and are just glad for all the changes the new owner had made. read more

This neighborhood pub is located between a laundry mat and Munchee's convenience store. This was the first place i saw nearby when i first moved to my apartment in Dunedin so we decided to go. When you open the door the smell of cigarette smoke really sorta hits you. It's casual and nothing fancy. This place has 2 pool tables, multiple pub booths, small variety of chips, an ATM (although they do take credit or debit), even a lighted christmas tree. My SO and i usually sit at the bar so we can talk to Barry or the other bartender (who is a really cool lady but i forgot her name). This truly has that (chinchorro) neighborhood bar feel and once you meet people and come back again, it's usually the same new acquaintances you made. You can download the Touch Tunes app on iphone or android, purchase credits, search and play songs of your choosing- fair warning: if people ordered prior to you, it may be a short while before they play it. Barry gave me to Try the Shock Top Apple beer (which i was hesitant to try and is now my regular when i come here) and my SO ordered the Yeungling...best part is that they were only $2.50 each . I would probably come here more often if it wasn't because of the cigarette smoking that goes on inside. I hate that after leaving, there's a lingering smell of cigarettes on yourself and your car. It has its Pros and Cons. Overall, It's nice to know there's a place to play pool and drink cheap beer a short drive away from my apartment. read more

The very first day I walked in Simons I felt at ease. Very cool little joint. Met Barry and a few regulars that were great. .. Cool jukebox, lightning playoff game...had a blast.. The first time I tried to come here at 10pm, it was closed! Theresa is nice. The retro wood wall paneling and wooden booths are great. It's weird how many dive bars in this area don't have booths. The other vintage decor is great. I could do without the seasonal decor though. It's a bar, not your mom's family room. A lot of the music was also from around 1985, when the bar was founded.
