First time here and relatively good experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The restaurant was lovely and comfortable. As for the food, a few notes: The charcuterie was rather disappointing. For $10, we got a very small plate with 1 meat rose, 4 slices of 1 cheese, some candied nuts, pickles, pickled onion, a couple strawberries and 2 slices of bread with mustard. It just was underwhelming for the price. The loaded tots were decent. And the flatbread was pretty delicious. It tasted like an upgraded Tostinos. A little nostalgic flavor but was delicious. The bread pudding was so so. Not thee greatest, but we did get it for take out, so that could have contributed to the satisfaction factor. Overall, decent experience. Would likely come back if other places weren't busy, or I was crazy some pizza. read more

The Pub is a small sophisticated bar tucked on a side street but still very prominent in town. We went for drinks at the bar last Sunday. Besides the bartender, we were the only females in there. I'm updating my review after new ownership. First of all the food was totally five stars! I had my doubts but they definitely came through with the flavor! We started with the house salad and very nice portion. Blue cheese fantastic please don't change it. I got some wings and they were definitely cooked perfectly and again the blue cheese made it over the top. My husband got the steak and even though priced at $39 it was a nice portion and the veggies were beyond good. Our friends got the veggie pizza with again a house salad. They loved it. Atmosphere not so much. It's kind of dull and bland. Has a vintage feel to it but definitely not my cup of tea. The old atmosphere was more music themed with guitars and cool things on the wall. Old atmosphere definitely more inviting. They stuck with the last owner (not original) and keeping the band located to the left when you walk in. Bad move. No one can see them except the front tables. Never understood why they moved it to start with. And the couch with the fireplace is just a little corny. There aren't enough tables to start with and now there's less with the couch and chair set up. Service not the friendliest. That was the one thing the old bar had was the friendliest bartenders and servers always with a smile. That being said, definitely not a bad experience. We will sit at bar and also their great outdoor patio out back. The bartenders are always so friendly when you eat at the bar. They make very good cocktails too. We love the wings especially the blackened Garlic Parma. The pizza is also tasty. The pizza oven there makes The pizza so fresh and hot. Please bring back the bruschetta!! Went for the first time in 15 (20?) years last night and am delighted with the improvement!! Decor is elegant-shabby-chic and very welcoming. But the better part is the food. We had Pub flatbread which was amazing and the brats which were perfectly done! The people next to us had meatballs, which looked delicious and we will try next time. Shout out to Carrie the bartender, she makes an outstanding gimlet and kept up with a large crowd all night with a smile. We specifically came in on a Sunday afternoon to watch a game at the bar. They said they'd turn on the sound as soon as one party left. We stayed and waited and ordered drinks and lunch. Party left and they turned up the music, not the game as promised. DISHONEST. Also the wings suck. They were undercooked and white, not extra crispy like we asked for. We've been here several times. The last 3rd Friday night, staff would cut people off at the bathroom line for women. Later on the evening, my mother was at the line and was next up and one of them staff members wanted to cut her off and go in the to the bathroom. My mother nicely told her that she really really has to go and went in. After this, the woman that works there went and told her husband which is the one that makes the pizzas. The husband followed my mother out to the patio where she was sitting, still had food, drinks, and screamed super aggressively like a maniac kicking her out because my mother didn't let his wife use the bathroom before her. Asked for a manager and he said he was the manager. My mother and her friend closed the tab and the server apologized. I was not there unfortunately but this really upset my mother, especially being a repeat customer. If you look at other reviews, you can see there has been issues with this woman and her husband (the pizza cook) before. Obviously after this experience, we won't return. read more

Kinda small/ odd set up for a live band, but to their credit, the bar area is pretty long, with side seating and a seating area on the backside of the wall. Didn't see live music tonight but was greeted by Melissa at the bar. She was very friendly and accommodating when I asked for just celery and blue cheese (I'm vegetarian). Nice chunks of blue cheese in the dressing. Had a good variety of beer, wine and full liquor bar. It's far from the typical Florida dive bar, but this is in Safety Harbor, so upscale isn't uncommon, but much appreciated. read more

Because there's a lot of inconsistency here, I've tried this place a handful of times before writing a review. I've had great service from wait staff and other times mostly ignored and even had the bartender be blatantly rude. I've not been able to correlate it to how busy they are and it never seems short staffed ‍ Again, inconsistency with their menu. They always seem to be out of the Cuban sliders - if they're that popular, stock up on ingredients or if they aren't, then take them off the menu. The other sandwich sliders on the menu are ok. When I ordered a hot dog, I expected a nice plump stadium type dog but what I got was a burnt dog that didn't even fill out the stale bun. The shepherds pie comes in a tiny crock, not worth what they charge. I guess that's ok though because it was bland and barely edible. The only food I could recommend off their menu is the pizza - it was tasty! Drink prices are standard bar prices and they have a decent selection. read more

Great little hole in the wall bar with a cute outdoor patio. They do serve food items which are cooked to order and not microwave meals. They had a nice Wood fired oven and the pizza looked amazing and one of our group got an order of meatballs that were absolutely huge. The people were nice but it was very hard to carry on a conversation as the acoustic inside reflect a lot of the sound of the band literally playing just inside the front door. You will have to watch your step for sure. The outdoor concerts here are really good and we enjoyed a couple of them now. It was too loud though this last weekend and as such we headed out to another bar so we could actually talk to each other. read more

8th Avenue is a nice local hangout in Safety Harbor. With a nice little beer garden as well as seating inside, it's a local favorite. They have bands in weekends, a full bar and the food is pretty good. We always end up here around 11-12 midnight and get the cheese pizza at $9. To be honest, it's one of the better pizzas around. Do not hesitate ordering. The only drawbacks here is the bands get real loud, making it impossible to sit inside and have a conversation. There are two single bathrooms as well, and they typically have a line waiting to use them in weekends. Service is fine and the wait for Pizza isn't too bad at 20 minutes. TLDR: delicious pizza, small bar. When busy, scarce service. My favorite pizza in the world is the BBQ chicken pizza. It's topped with yummy pickled onions, my most favorite part of this pizza! The white pizza and pretzel dipper app are both quality items as well. They have a variety of beers on tap but the bar is a bit small making service tight especially when it gets busy. Third Friday in safety harbor and holidays make for a very crowded pub! So if your impatient, only come in knowing servers will be running around like mad trying to keep up with a full house. They usually host live bands especially on holidays and weekends. On occasion I have seen bands both inside and in the larger space outside. When you walk in, take note, the older the crowd, the crazier the dancing!! So get ready to get down with some fun not so mature adults! read more

Really like this small place off Main Street. Obviously a bunch of regulars here, but welcoming to strangers too. Pizza's smell and look outstanding. I had the garlic oven baked wings. Huge portion and some of the best wings I ever had. I went there on "Third Friday" and the wings took a long time since it is a small kitchen and the place was over flowing. What an unexpected delight this local corner pub turned out to be! Dianna B and I were craving pizza since we had just witnessed Alton Brown bake an alligator pizza in his mega bake oven at his show at Ruth Eckerd Hall. We turned to our favorite app, Yelp, to help us locate a nearby pizza place. Unfortunately, not too many places were open late on a Tuesday, but we finally found the 8th Avenue Pub that was open until midnight. The 8th Avenue Pub is located in beautiful downtown Safety Harbor. From the outside, it looks pretty seedy. But, when you step inside, you see that the entire building was gutted and totally remodeled. Stephanie was our bartender/server tonight and was friendly and efficient. She also was the only staff member working the bar. Lucky for us, it was a slow Tuesday night, so service wasn't too bad. We ordered the #5 Pub Pie which was topped with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, sausage, and garlic. The pizza was a little undercooked, but it didn't taste too bad. The bar is fully stocked with liquor and there is a huge assortment of beers on tap and in bottles. Unfortunately there was no live music playing tonight, but the bar is definitely set up for it. There is a back patio for outdoor seating and for smokers. I found their restrooms to be clean. Be mindful that the parking here is sparse. There is parking available in the street and spaces here and there, but no defined parking lot, to my knowledge. I could be wrong though, because it was late in the evening when we arrived and I couldn't see too well. I enjoyed the laid back vibe in this bar and would definitely come back. read more

After watching Alton Brown create pizza on a HUGE mini bake oven, Anna M and I needed Pizza. It wasn't a want, it was a NEED, so with our handy dandy spinner, we found the 8th avenue pub! This is located just off Main Street in Safety Harbor, Parking can be tricky if you're not good at paralel parking, but Main street has a lot of open spots. The place is nice, the music is ecclectic and fun. When we arrived, it seemed as though the tender might give us a bit of attitude, but once we were seated, she warmed up and took care of us well. We ordered a pizza to share and I got a salad, the salad was delicious, crisp lettuce with cherry tomatoes, craisns and cucumbers and cheese. The dressing was on the side and quite tasty. The pizza was equally tasty. The toppings were generous on this Pub Pie: Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Onions, sausage and garlic. While I didn't find it under done, Anna seemed to think it was. The location is set up to have live music and it appears they have a lovely outside area as well. Neither was active this night. Lots of local beers are available on tap! So if you're a beer drinker, this might be the pub for you! read more

This is one of my favorite places in Safety Harbor. There is always a band here and they have great drink specials even late at night. For the capacity allowed in this bar, there should be more restrooms than just one. However since the service and price are right, that is a small detail that can be overlooked.
