Food is ok , service is slow, pushed button four times in 15 minutes still didn't get my order taken not sure if they are having issues with system but place isn't that busy.

Even on a rainy day it's a great place. We could pull up under eves. Love the homemade root beer. We had burgers & root beer floats. Bought a 4 pack of root beer to enjoy at home.

Stopped in while passing thru from a vacation in NY back home to Iowa. Delicious food, very prompt and order was delivered perfectly! My son said the Oreo Bliz deserves an award!

This e a Elkhart staple. One of the only family Root beer drive ins left in the Michiana area. They still make the root beer homemade here. The food is made to order and wonderful. We got the Drive in special, the big burger, the pizza burger, the mushroom burger and chicken strips. Everything came out super hot and fresh. The fries come with salt packets so you can add it to your own preference. The burgers are so fresh the cheese is molten goodness. The root beer floats are so creamy and cold. They still serve the root beer in frozen mugs. Ok to the food. The drive in burger is gargantuan. 3/4 of a pound of burger between awesome toppings dripping with juicy goodness. The big burger is 1/2 pound and checks every category of a fresh burger. The mushroom and Swiss burger is creamy and mushroomy overflowing with flavor.

    This is how you order!

Fantastic drive-in! Happy to find places like this still open for business. The table-side machines still work, and they bring out your food. If I lived closer, we'd come often. Clean, friendly, well kept. The food and service was great! And they sell their root beer in kegs. Party anyone?!

Accidentally got off the toll highway to find food during a road trip and came across this nostalgic drive-in diner, the kind that they attach the food tray to your window. Service was great and there were alot of people there in their cars or bicycles. This seemed like the Happing place to go hang out. We ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger, Chicken Fritters (aka Chicken strips), fries and onion rings. I thought my burger was a little dry, but the mushrooms were good. The Chicken Fritters were amazing and I would highly recommend them. We got chili and ranch dipping sauce. When I ordered the chili dipping sauce, I thought I was ordering a sweet chili sauce, nope this is actual chili, you know the kind with beef in it. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was awesome!! I have never been served chili as a dipping sauce. The fries were good and fresh but not salted, they provide salt packets so you can salt to taste. Next time I would pass on the onion rings, they remind of of the frozen onion rings rather than fresh made ones. Only thing that would have made the experience better, is if the waitresses were wearing roller skates :-)

So yummy and such a fun experience!! Quick service and everyone is so polite. Been coming here since I was a little girl. I love the olive burger, mozzarella sticks, and of course the frosted mug of root beer. The Bliz or a malt milkshake to top it all off!! I hope they stay open long enough to bring my grandkids here in 25 years or so ;)

Yummy root beer! It was my first drive-in experience and the entire staff was sweet. I want to go back to try the burgers and fries!

It was one of the better restaurant experiences that we've had recently. Located a mile north of the Indiana Toll Road, we found this place based on a search knowing this area was where we wanted to stop for dinner on our traverse to Chicago. It looked like a fun spot from the description and was certainly something different. An additional consideration was that we had our 21-month-old granddaughter and needed a place where we could so find something that appealed to her. Burgers are usually a good bet. The location on Simonton Lake was beautiful. It facilitated a treat before we ever stepped into the restaurant. There was a family of swans on the water with the parents and their six cygnets. They were indeed fun to watch. The lake created a wonderful setting from the outset. Upon entry, we were greeted by the friendly staff and were accommodated with a booth in the main dining room quickly. Our waitress, Kayla, attended to us right away and did a terrific job. We were well cared for during our visit. The food was delivered in a timely fashion without undue delay. We started with an order of Onion Rings, which turned out to be a great choice. They were crispy with flavorful breading that was not so thick as to be overwhelming. We also tried a couple of cocktails. While we like a glass of wine with our meal, we're not really cocktail people. But these intrigued us. I tried the Peach Sangria, which was very good. My wife had the Jameson Ginger Sparkler. Jameson and Ginger Ale has been a favorite of hers since we experienced the Jameson Factory tour in Dublin several years ago. This concoction was a nice take on that theme. Both drinks were "dangerous" because they were so tasty that you didn't notice they contained alcohol. In spite of the fact that this is primarily a burger pub, we found two salads that intrigued us for our mains. One was actually in keeping with the theme of the restaurant, as my wife had the Flippin Burger Salad. As the name suggests, it featured burger on greens with her choice of honey mustard dressing. She shared that with our granddaughter. They were both happy with the choice. I had the Flippin Whitefish Salad. The fish was nicely done and it seemed appropriate since we were by the lakeshore. I found it to be quite satisfying with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Unfortunately, they no longer make their Mango Chardonnay Dressing that used to accompany this salad. I've never had the chance to try it but it sounds like they should consider bringing it back. The total for our meals with food, drinks, tax and tip was $68. At $34 each as well as having enough to feed a toddler, we were very happy with this given the experience. We'll look forward to a return visit now that we know this place is there.

On the good side, service was good, servers were friendly, tried to be helpful, food came out quickly. I found their system confusing though, as you didn't have one server, they all stopped at the table at various times. Food was disappointing. Wife had the Reuben sandwich. Reuben should be corned beef, what she had was NOT corned beef, it looked like roast beef, she said it tasted like leftover prime rib from last night. The fries were good though. I had angel hair pasta shrimp scampi. The shrimp was good, properly cooked without being rubbery, good flavor. The angel hair was badly overcooked, clumpy, mushy. Angel hair is easy to overcook, because it's so thin, but if you are going to offer it on the menu, the cooks need to know how to keep an eye on it. The worst part was the noise/music/DJ. It was so horribly loud, we could not talk. The next table were screaming at each other to be heard. We asked the servers, twice, to turn it down. The first said it was some sort of event, the DJ was running it, and they couldn't change it. The second said she would ask the manager, and I saw her walk up the the manager, talk to him, and saw him shake his head. I opened up the decibel meter on my phone, and it recorded an average of 87 decibels, with a peak of 90 decibels. Equivalent to a large lawn mower. Hearing protection recommended for extended exposure. In retrospect, we should have left when they first said no. We did see another couple who did leave. I would have given 1 star, but because we've had good experience in the past, I'll average it as a 2 star.
