After a yummy lunch outing elsewhere, my son and I were craving donuts for dessert, so we stopped by here since the name of the store appealed to us, and the location is near our home. The lady who took our order was patiently waiting behind the counter and provided the bare minimum friendliness for service -- nothing extravagant nor terrible. We purchased a dozen donut holes and 4 individual donuts: 2 maple bars, 1 chocolate bar, and 1 regular chocolate donut, as well as their flan, which was about $20 in total. The donuts were packed into cheap brown paper bags, so they're easy to eat immediately. The donuts were cheap enough, but the signage for the prices was located on the left on a chalkboard on the wall, which was very easy to miss after entering the shop, and we didn't notice it until after we ordered. My son enjoyed the donuts, but I found the donuts tasted stale, perhaps because we visited in the evening when they were no longer fresh. I would have liked them to be sweeter and fluffier, but it was inevitable that the quality would be mediocre based on the time we arrived. They offered an okay selection of donuts, which were all displayed visibly as soon as you entered, and there was some variety, but nothing that particularly stood out to me besides the maple bars, so not much creativity there with the donut options. Perhaps, again, it was due to our late visit. However, they do offer other desserts, like pastries, but those looked too filling for me at the time, so I settled for the flan, which was still rich and heavy, but I was able to refrigerate it to enjoy at a later time. I noticed they sold some sweet bread too, like conchas, but those didn't interest me at the time. They also offer drinks and ice cream bars on the right after you enter. There's a decent amount of seating, but the shop was practically empty when we were there, because we're weirdos who visit around 18:00 for donuts lol. There wasn't really anything that caught my attention enough for a return visit, besides the convenience of the location. Love this place, simple and delicious good. We visit the store regularly on Tuesday. Also we ordered kids' birthday parties a couple of times from them, too. They made the donuts birthday cake perfectly. (Considering the regular cake with too much icings, I decided to have donuts with cream, which is much healthy and tasty!) Pretty good dough but a taste of the oil being burnt. Couldn't detect much blackberry flavor but it is a harder one to shine through. My grand daughters and I L O V E this donut shop. Seems like regular, good ole fashion donut shops are things of the past. My husband's family used to own a local donut shop here in town for 30 years. It used to be by the Lacey post office. Since Dad is retired we haven't been able to find light and fluffy donuts since--until this shop came along. When I want to give my grand daughters a little extra treat, we come and get a half dozen donuts which they give you 7 donuts. They get two each and love every bite. Are the best donuts in all of the land? No...but they sure satisfy my donut cravings. Open 24/7, wide selection and cheap! Donuts are about $1 a piece and it includes all of their varieties. I love their wide selection and most notably their multiple fritter selections. I've had Blackberry, blueberry, raspberry and banana. Some other notables are the coconut cream filled, buttermilk and their old fashioned. The donuts always seem to be pretty fresh. It's easy to tell when donuts were cooked first thing in the morning and have been on the shelf all day. I haven't had that feeling and I've been here at least 5 times. So, here's a new update. I recently went back to check out the new remodel, and my Mom was in town visiting from AZ. We BOTH we're in the mood for some fried Indian bread, however we had NO IDEA where to go locally to get some fabulous and freshly made?? So, we settled for the next best thing. and it was on our way home. The remodel looks great. It's a much larger eating area. That's all it is. With a television, a drink cooler filled with cold drinks. I don't know where my husband got they may be adding more food?? We got 9 fritters 3 blackberry, 3 strawberry, and 3 apple, a butterfinger doughnut filled w custard, a coconut crème, and a chocolate coconut crème. The fritters were a little more dry than normal, but we're still good. Especially once we warmed just a bit, to soften. The service was a bit different out of all the times I have been here since the day they opened. The person taking orders spoke hardly any English & couldn't answer any questions asked so that was kind of irritating when you're kind of in a hurry, or have had multiple questions. After about 3 questions, and getting a "Blank look, a head shake no, and a I don't know. Someone else finally came over to help with the order. The prices have increased. I don't know how much more you want to pay for a Dozen Donuts!? Fritters or Not!! When you start getting up to $35-40+ a dozen!? I'm sorry, Out!! I had 3 regular donuts and with a tip it was $40. I'll have to find me a cheaper sweet to indulge in for sure!! What happened to a dozen donuts being like $15?? It was a special occasion so I purchased them all. Another TOTAL DOWNER, you DON'T even have an INCENTIVE anymore for your visits, or money you spend on their delicious donuts. (Only the fritters were a little dry this visit) they DID AWAY with their stamp card, because it was an INCONVENIENCE stamping them I was told. They'll still honor them if you have a full one. I like going to places where I get rewards for spending my money, so that is a big impact on my deciding factors on where to eat as well because I'm HUGE on rewards, especially now with everything SO EXPENSIVE. You build up rewards at places, especially if you have a family to use toward future purchases for discounts and save money. Just because you remodeled doesn't mean raise prices and take away all the customer rewards?? Why do we have to pay more for food that's no different?? We're still not dining in?? Things haven't changed for some of us?? Idk, just doesn't seem right entirely to me. They still are great donuts, if you wanna pay a pretty substantial price for them now. I did take photos. But I'm having problems w Yelp. I'll upload when I can. It was hard to give a 3. I intentionally asked specific questions while I was there for a review. Their replies weren't the best, or just made it very clear, it was just a INCONVENIENCE, and they didn't wanna do it, so they stopped it. Nothing about how the customers felt?? Isn't that who matters most and keeps your business thriving?? Not if stamping a card or making eye contact w a customer, and actually being able to answer a question instead of just saying NO, when the answer is quite obvious the opposite!! I pre-ordered donuts for a Donuts with Dad event for Father's Day. There was a language barrier so everything was communicated in writing (10 dozen donuts, pick up at 7am, paid in full). I almost declined the receipt but needed to be reimbursed so I took a picture of the order (I asked for a copy and we had a moment of confusion) and took the receipt for the paid order. On the day of (Father's Day), my team member went to pick up the order and, not only was she given 8 (not 10) dozen, she was asked to pay in full again. Apparently after I left, someone had written NOT PAID on the order form. I texted the documents I had and again, she was only provided 8, not 10 dozen donuts, despite what was written on the order form. I understand language barriers can cause miscommunication, but this seemed deliberate. We'll absolutely be going to another donut shop after this, but please be aware if you pre-order. KEEP ALL DOCUMENTATION and don't send anyone to get an order your place. read more
