This is my first every Yelp Review and here's why. Orlando at Simple Mobile was a total professionional and repaired my water damaged Samsung S20 Fe 5G phone quickly and at a reasonable price. He listened to me and all of my concerns and explained what he would do and even showed me the factory Samsung display screen he would use to replace my old one if needed. He connected my phone to a special charger he had that showed that the phone was charging even though we didnt' see or hear anything. I dropped my phone in 5 ft of water for about 30 seconds. After 3 days of trying various methods to dry it and trying every combination of button pressing and restarting the screen was just black. Sometimes I'd hear a blip and a short vibration. So I started calling around West LA for quotes. The prices I was getting, I could just use the money to buy a used phone of Ebay or Swappa. I yelped my request and decided to give Simple Mobile a try. Orlando gave me a reasonable quote, better than all the other repair shops. He also said he had a factory Samsung display screen if needed and that they offered a 30 warranty on the part. No one else offered this. The shop is in a very dense part of town, a little past Koreatown across from MacArthur park. There's a parking lot next to the shop. Just tell the security guard you're going to Simple mobile. I had my concerns but don't judge a book by it's cover. The drive was worth it. Orlando called an hour after I dropped off the phone and said the old display was fried. He installed the new one and it was working fine. It even had the plastic wrapper on the screen. I tested the phone and saw all of my texts and pics. The finger print scanner wasn' really working, but it never worked that well to begin with. I added a third scan of my thumb and the scanner's been working better than before. Orlando at Simple mobile will be my repairman if I ever need help again. They also repair tablets. Thank you Orlando and Simple Mobile. You saved the day. read more

Beware! Based on the good reviews, I brought my iPhone here to have the back-glass repaired, which also required replacing the housing. Biviano, who seemed kind and reliable, assured me they would use new, original hardware. They ended up causing unseen damage to the screen during installation and two hours later, my screen cracked. Biviano claimed it was caused by a dent in the "new" housing which surprised me since I hadn't dropped the phone. On closer inspection, I realized they had not used new housing but had given me damaged housing. I believe it wasn't a good fit which caused the screen to crack. However, he of course insisted it was new and that I caused the damage and refused to repair the screen. He offered a discount of $120 down from $160 for a new screen, but I shouldn't have to pay for an issue they caused, and as they say, fool me once... The only positive thing is that he gave me a screen protector so that my fingers wouldn't get cut by the broken glass. read more

A huge waste of time. I messaged Biviano on 6/6 re: a repair for my 11" iPad Pro charging port, after clarifying the year and model he quoted a repair price of $60 if he had the part in stock. After no response for 3 days I messaged again via Yelp to check on status, still no response. I had to contact him via phone several times over the next two weeks, each time he was apologetic and said he would let me know, each time no follow up. I was willing to be patient because I had previously brought two iPhones to his shop for battery replacement, and his pricing was competitive. I messaged again on 6/23 and he finally responded that he could place an order for the part and would receive it the following Wed 6/28. Not sure why he waited over two weeks before ordering the part? I checked again on 6/29 re: status of part, he responded on 6/30 that it had arrived. I brought my iPad in on the morning of 7/1. Biviano was not in, but the store associate contacted him to inquire about the part. I was informed only then that the part was available BUT that the repair process can damage the iPad screen, and that they would not be responsible. Why would an electronics repair service provider make someone wait for almost 3wks and then advise only when he brings device in that the repair could permanently damage the screen?? It's ridiculous that a repair facility would charge a client to leave device in worse condition than before the repair, why even be in the business of repair? In case others are not aware, Simple Mobile is related to the BO Printing/A Total Wireless group of stores. They have 3 locations within a few blocks of each other and are essentially the same business. Owner responded that it's normal for repair shops to advise of risk to screen, or that other shops factor in cost of a replacement screen in the original quote. Whether that is true or not, it would have been nice to be advised of their policy 3 weeks ago when I first inquired about repairs. It would also help to have an explanation of the breakdown for cost of replacement screen, if necessary, so that prospective clients can accurately compare apples to apples quotes. Otherwise, it seems like a bait and switch where they lure you into with seemingly low prices, make excuses if they break the screen or other components, and then try to justify or explain their policy. read more

This place is amazing!! Biviano fixed my iPhone XS Max for a fraction of the cost of what all other competitors were trying to charge me. Matter of fact, he replaced both my shattered screen and the glass back for less than what they were trying to charge me for 1 job. Also, 3 others told me they'd have to replace my speaker system to fix an issue, and doing so would remove my Face ID setting forever, but Biviano got to the root of the issue and said it was such an easy fix, nothing had to be replaced and my Face ID setting works perfect. Now my phone looks and feels brand new, and at SUCH an affordable price. So grateful to have found him! Whoever owns this place needs to give him a raise. Absolutely flawless service from Biviano! I had an issue with my iPhone's camera, it wouldn't focus anymore. Brought it to a well-known cell phone shop I have been going to for years. They charged me $89 and replaced the camera. Two days later, the camera's lens is full of dust particles and there are now 5 spots on every picture I take. I bring it back. They change the camera again, and it looks good when leaving the store. Two days later, the camera is again full of dust! I finally bring it to Biviano, who first tries to extensively clean the camera, to no avail. He then concludes that dust must be getting inside the mechanism somehow and suggests replacing the camera yet again. I decide to give it a try. He opens the phone up, replaces the camera and explains that the sealant tape designed to make the phone waterproof is missing, and that this is likely why impurities are getting inside the phone. New camera and sealant tape in tape, the iPhone is now as good as new. He had quoted me $75 for this job before starting...and ended charging me only $65. Just wow. read more

I'm very upset with this company for couple of reasons. First of all I wanted my iphone 8 plus front screen replace and back cover replace...guy tells me he would need two hours then calls me same day saying he will need more time and to pick it up @ 7pm. Then calls me saying to pick it up the following day that following day turn into two days and thats because I called them and told them I was picking up my phone. Very responsive, great work, incredible price... I sent out a Yelp request for bids for a broken iPad screen at 11:08PM on a weekday. Biviano replied 10 minutes later, and had openings the next day. I provided what I believe to be very specific considerations (glass damaged, LCD, button and frame all good). His bid was considerably lower than 2 other responses I received. I showed up a little late to my appointment (parking is a bit of a challenge in that neighborhood). Biviano accurately estimated the time to fix the screen at 2 hours, and offered to call me when it was ready. I showed up after 2 hours because I live a ways away, so waiting for his call would have caused a delay. He was ready right on time. The work was very good. Before returning the iPad he thoroughly examined and cleaned it. He then let me inspect it, and made sure the fingerprint functionality of the button was working. When I got back home, my daughter replied "it looks like I have a new iPad". I recently dropped my iPhone 7, straight down, face-first on the asphalt of a parking lot. When I picked it up and turned it over, I was bummed to see the glass had completely shattered mostly on the bottom near the keypad area. This made it difficult to text and see especially in that area. My phone is old but in good working condition and, most importantly, paid for; I wasn't ready to replace it (contemplating switching to a Google Pixel). I figured it might be worth it to have the screen replaced (my brother has done it for me before but I think he's tired of being my personal repairman) while I decide on a new phone. So I researched a reputable place to fix the screen and received numerous quotes. Biviano's was not only the least expensive but his reviews were fairly solid and he offered a convenient time and date to come in...I made an appointment last night for 11am this morning. I showed up 15 minutes early and he was still very accommodating. He looked at my phone and said it would be 30 minutes. I waited in my car and walked back about 25 minutes later, thinking he might tell me it isn't ready yet which would be understandable. Nope, he greeted me kindly and said "Oh no problem, it's been ready." Relief! It looks great, like-new and the functionality is perfect now that there aren't shards of glass impeding it. All for $45 and 30 minutes. Honestly, it was an easy fix but I am just really glad he was an honest and reliable resource.
