As someone born and raised in Hawai'i and now living on the mainland, it's always a challenge trying to help my elderly parents in Mililani with home issues--especially something as tricky as their solar split A/C unit suddenly going out during the summer heat. It has been a hot spring, summer, and fall this year. I know my split air conditioning units need some love. I have used most of the big companies to perform service on my A/C units. I heard about this Simple Service LLC on the radio. I decided to try them out. The service did not start well, which set the tone for the entire service call. I was told that the service technician would be arriving between (10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.). They arrived at 12:00 p.m., this is important because I work in the afternoon. The workers were behind schedule and unorganized. It was very hectic yelling for each other, asking to use my bucket, ladder, water hose, and towels. The result of the cleaning was mediocre. One of the tech bent my curtain rod. I was not informed. They were leaving my home, and I ran out to the road to ask what happened. They said sorry, and they would replace the curtain rod. The owner, Guy, came to my home and replaced the curtain rod. My water hose was left pressurized and unrolled. Not how it was stored before they used it. My floor and window frame were left dirty from cleaning. The pricing for the service was average. No discount or anything offered for the mistakes of the technicians. This was not a good experience for me. read more

Guy is the best! I have the utmost respect for him as a business owner who does service calls himself. He was sensitive to my budget and time constraints as I'm a schoolteacher. Very quick to respond to my Yelp search and gave an upfront cost estimate unlike the other business that took days to respond, and another who never answered my question about a price quote. Texts were promptly answered & gave me a call a soon as he found out that the cost of parts were higher than he thought. My daughter just returned home after a long stay in the hospital and is recovering in the family room that's been converted temporarily into her bedroom. During the day, the temperature and humidity in that room is unbearable and our 15 year old split system died. I called four companies to get a feel of the current prices and to have it installed as soon as possible. Three called me back within the day while the fourth called after the new system was installed. The prices were all comparable but the huge difference was that Simple Service said they could install it the following day (by the way, they were the lowest bid). They also had a special on split system servicing which our other two units were in need of. The following day (Wednesday), Guy arrived at the house and removed the old unit and installed the new air conditioner. The work was fast and he cleaned up the workplace when he was done. On Friday, Guy returned with his two daughters and began the servicing of 5 indoor blowers and two outside condensers. The work was thorough and they kept the area clean. His price for the servicing was the lowest I've come across (he told me it was a Yelp special). They were done within three hours. If you need a new split system or just servicing, look no further than Simple Service. They did a great job and their prices were very reasonable and fair. Simple Service responded to my problem with one of my multizone fan units and was very persistent in determining my noncooling issue. They also advocated for me with the contractor and the manufacturer's rep to prove it wasn't a user caused issue and saved me some bucks. read more

I cannot say enough great things about my recent experience with Guy and his AC company named Simple Service! If I could give Guy more than 5 stars I would! I called Simple Service to assess my complex air conditioning trouble on my split system multi-unit condenser. I was advised by another company that my best option would be to replace all three blowers and the 36 BTU condenser, however when Guy came to my house instead of advising the same costly solution, he listened intently to me explain the issue and then came up with a game plan on how to trouble shoot and resolve the issue. Guy advised he would inspect the entire system to identify where the specific issue resided. Guy quickly took all possible variables out of the equation to make sure he identified the true root cause and how to fix it. Guy didn't stop there, he made absolutely sure he found the problem by using his testing equipment to leave no doubt at all. Once Guy confirmed the problem, he came up with a solid solution. Guy's professionalism and can do attitude to not only pinpoint the problem but come up with a long term cost effective solution is truly a testament to him not only as an excellent professional in the AC maintenance , install and repair field but also the type of high quality person he is. Guy takes the time to make sure he does the job efficiently and effectively right and let me know what was going on so I never felt like I was out of the loop. Simple Service was the first to respond to our call for help on a window ac. We're in a 2 bedroom apt & both AC units were blowing warm air. Not many ac shops repair window units. Guy set up an appointment to check our living room ac & gave me a quote to troubleshoot & repair based on what he felt was the problem. They charge for parts & by the hour. He & Christian worked on it for several days (they took ac to their shop) which included buying extra parts that were needed. Despite working over the hours Guy thought it would take, he kept to his promised quote. They even saved me money on credit card fees when I paid. When they installed the repaired unit, they checked out my other ac. A hardened wasp nest was stopping the fan from turning which was causing overheating. Once that was removed, that ac worked again! I give simple service 5 stars. We had 2 daikin split ACs that were blowing hot air. Both ACs aren't even 2 years old and we had them fixed many times only to have them break down within the same month. I was so desperate to find anyone to fix it I turned to yelp. Fortunately Guy, the owner of Simple Service called me and made an appointment to come down and see our ACs THAT SAME DAY! He spent a little less than 2 hours to look at both systems and came up with a game plan, which was to come back the next day with appropriate tools. So the next day rolls around, 30 minutes before our appointment and our whole neighborhood loses power I call up Guy right away and explained to him. Although we had a blackout he was still flexible enough to stop by in the afternoon and fix both of them the same day it's been about 5 days and both split ACs have been working perfectly fine, and feeling even colder than before! Guy even called and followed up with us to make sure they're working fine which I greatly appreciated bc it proves how dedicated he is to the job.
