***Update*** just got home, AC has been on high and it's 88 degrees!!!! This company is horrible. They where at my unit for about 20 minutes and charged for a full hour and it took them almost 3 months to provide me with an invoice/receipt. They told me nothing was wrong with my AC but as you can see from the picture attached my AC clearly doesn't work properly. This picture was taken at 2:30 am and the AC had been running on high all day Probably the most mind blowing part is the tech that should up didn't even have a thermometer. This tech used his hand to feel the air out put and told me "it feels cold". I didn't need to pay $150 for someone to put their hand up to my AC to tell me it feels cold. Additionally their receptionist Kristen is rude, unorganized, unprofessional and will hang up the phone on you. Note that when I called and talked to her I didn't yell, swear or was disrespectful. I also asked to speak with the manager numerous time and she refused to honor my request. Merrill is the owner. He's about as useful as a nipples on a cat. After talking with him I can see why they overcharged me. They are clearly a struggling business and need to steal money in order to stay afloat. Lastly I hired them based on yelp reviews. We are very frustrated with the level of communication. They came out to inspect the house so they could give us a quote and I have never heard from them again. I had twice asked for a call back--once on the day they were in the house (because I could not be there) and once a few days later. Despite my requests, I have received nothing-no phone call, no email, and no word on the quote which they came out for. Their service tech (Juvanny; I've known him for a few years) came over in a timely manner and explained to me in detail what was wrong with my system; it was rusted out beyond repair and needed to be replaced. Chelsie (front office) was very accommodating and able to get me on the installation schedule in a reasonable amount of time. Once the installation crew arrived, they were in and out within 5 hours. It was a pleasure being around them; all three were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. AC Concepts not only serviced my system but corrected the poor work done by Air cooling Tower who has gone bankrupt. The roller in the large unit was installed incorrectly after service and caused minor damage to my brand new system. I though these guys were good. Now I know better. They didn't do a static pressure test when installing a new unit in my house and then right after the 1 year check up they did the motor fried. Turns out it was because of high static pressure when bedroom doors were closed. I solved that by putting in jump ducts in the doors (allowing air to pass through the doors when closed). They should have known this would blow the motor out, and of course it happened days after the 1 year warranty on labor was up so they tried to charge me for an issue they caused. Fast forward another year and the unit leaked all over my ceiling. Turns out they cut the drain pan to make a pipe fit. That's like cutting a hole in the side of your swimming pool. It's fine until there's water in it! So they tried to hide it with glue. The glue didn't hold and it leaked all over. So I had them back out to fix their mistake and they used it to upsell me on a better drip pan. Okay, I'll bite if the pan is better (metal vs plastic) but you should have offered it for free for my trouble. Then, they cut corners installing it and left 8" holes from the return air box open to my hot attic. Now my AC just wouldn't cool the house. Only because I checked did I find the 8" holes which were letting in 120 degree attic air and thus not cooling down. Worse, it was letting dust and insulation filled air into my house (not good when you have a child with breathing issues). So I had to have them back out again to fix their crappy work. I asked Merill, the owner, to come and supervise but he refused and instead sent the same moron that caused the issues in the first place (on his last day of work no less). Everybody I've ever had from that company is a joke and every time it's a new person because the other person no longer works there (which speaks volumes). After several works and several trips they finally fixed it, but only because I had to babysit them and watch their every move. I'd let an untrained monkey fix my AC before I let these guys near it ever again. Find some other company, any other company! read more

Air Conditioning Concepts was hired by our General Contractor to install central AC system for the main living space of a very large home & split ACs for 8 bedrooms. Their workers were very professional, well dressed, worked efficiently & completed the project on schedule. We asked Air Con Concepts to help us out with another project when the other AC contractor was called to work on a project in Guam & could not complete our job. Merrill stepped up to the plate and completed everything, even though they were not the company that did the rough-in. Merrill, the owner is very attentive to requests, answers emails and phone calls promptly, and especially pleasant to work with. read more

This company "fixed" a leak but the "fix" was only temporary. My AC broke in less than a year and I needed to replace my whole system.

We had three issues with Air Conditioning Concepts. 1. I called in late July 2018 because one of our AC units was not working. I explained that the inner rotor for the AC was not spinning. The person in the office said it probably needs to be cleaned, quoted us for a cleaning ONLY (200-250 dollars). The technician came out on 26 July. He spent 10 minutes at the house and said the AC is broken and we were charged $130 dollars. ISSUE ONE: We were not quoted for trouble shooting. 2. In late July, I was told that AC Concepts would look to see if the AC unit was still under warrantee and get back to me with a quote to repair the unit. ISSUE TWO: There was no return call for 7 weeks. 3. I posted a negative review on the company in mid September and IMMEDIATELY received a call from the owner. He let me know that (1) they apologized no one called, (2) they had the motor in stock, (3) they could come out the following week to replace the motor, (4) they would refund the original visit, (5) the charge for the new visit would be $130. So, I changed my yelp review, saying that I was looking forward to the visit. ISSUE THREE: The technician came out during late September and replaced the motor and charged us $130 dollars. The original visit was not reimbursed. When I called the office to ask why the original visit was not reimbursed, the story changed. I was told that they "only would have reimbursed us for the original charge if some other company had come out to fix the unit in the time we had been waiting"....does that make sense to you? So, CONSUMER BEWARE get it in writing, or really, find another company that can get their numbers and stories straight. I give 2 stars instead of 1 because the technician who came out (Manny) was on time and professional. read more

We originally had Air Conditioning Concepts come to check out our unit in November 2018. They said it was a blown capacitor and replaced it. The unit worked, but not optimally. It would run for 30 mins and then shut off. The technician said that if we replaced the air filters it would run better. We didn't use the unit over the winter months because it was a cold winter. However, as we have been running the unit more often recently, the unit has not been functioning. We called them and they came out 2 weeks ago and said that we needed to replace the fan motor. They charged us $160 to trouble shoot. It took a week for them to provide us with a quote of $800 to replace the fan. Instead, we contacted Carrier and they sent us the correct fan motor. My friend that worked HVAC while in the Navy assisted in replacing the fan motor. After replacing the fan motor, the problem still exists. My friend said that it is the capacitor, which was supposedly replaced last November. We attempted to call Air Conditioning Concepts to come out and check the unit again since the issue was not the fan motor as they had originally stated; however the only way they would come out is if they charged us another $160. WTH. If the issue was identified correctly, we would not need them to come out again nor would we have spent the money to purchase a new fan motor. I'm just glad that we did not pay the $800 through Air Conditioning Concepts to fix something that was not actually broken. read more

Our master room ac broke so I needed to find someone to repair our air conditioner ASAP! I called around and most companies had over a month wait. We live on the west side so being without an air conditioner is not an option. I called and spoke to Kristin. She was very friendly and professional and able to get a technician out to our home the same week! Juvanny was our technician. He was also very professional and friendly. Awesome service from this company that was referred by a friend at work (thanks Dawn!) whose spouse is in the construction business. Had a 2-zone Samsung split system that was only blowing hot air from one fan coil unit. Merill (the owner) immediately found out that one compressor was missing all gas and found the leak in a failed splice in a refrigerant line (less than 15 minutes to diagnose). Total repair and recharge of system done within one hour. Price very reasonable, and cool air is blowing again.
