We have used this service 3 times, $100 for three hours of work cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, floors, basically everything except for dusting and "anything else they can get done within that 3 hours." The very first time we used them, it was perfect, the gal arrived on time, stayed for 3 hours and cleaned everything that was agreed upon. The 2nd time we used them, a different gal came and was supposed to arrive at 10:30am. She arrived at 10:36 and didn't get started until 10:43 because I had to walk her through of what needed to be done. She was supposed to bring supplies, rags etc., and ended up using my supplies (which thankfully I had) and my rags, which I subsequently had to re-wash (I had just gotten them out of the dryer before she arrived) and dry. She left at 12:55pm. If she arrived on time, she should have left at 1:30pm. When I received the invoice, I questioned the full amount of $100 and I received a response "our minimum is $100 but I can give you a discount." A discount??? The gal was supposed to be here for THREE hours and she was not so why wouldn't you offer to make the adjustment? That's more than 30 minutes of work in which something else could have been done (dusting, windows, etc.) instead of leaving. If I left work early, my manager would not be happy. The adjustment was made to $85 and the scheduler and I came to an understanding that if we used the service again, we would have the gal that came the first time. Several weeks later, the scheduler reached out and asked if I'd like to schedule another cleaning service. It was scheduled for yesterday, 10/25. In messaging with the schedule, I asked to confirm that she would bring her own supplies and that she would be cleaning from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. The scheduler confirmed. She arrived on time and left at 4pm. The guest bathroom counter had not been cleaned, there was a nail clipping and there were hard water stains under items that had clearly not been moved for cleaning. I ended up cleaning it myself. I received my invoice for $100, and responded with the details of yesterday. I informed them that I will pay the $100 invoice even though she left 30 minutes early and that I will be looking elsewhere for services. read more

We finally bit the bullet and hired a service to have our home cleaned every two weeks. Simplified Living was recommended to me by a friend who has used them for years. So far so good! Our place always looks great, and we usually come home to a nice note, either a reply to something we asked for, a reminder we're almost out of something (you provide the supplies) or just a have a nice day! I like that they can just bill my credit card (so I don't have to remember to leave a check). We pay $85 each time, and for reference our house is about 1600 square feet with two bathrooms and we have two pets. (I think they charge more if you have pets, which is fine because they both shed like crazy.) Annabeth, the owner, is a delight and super responsive via phone and email to any questions or scheduling changes. Makes my life easier, and I admit I look forward to coming home every other Tuesday to a perfectly clean home! read more

Ongoing problem with following agreed upon instruction provided to the Cleaner by both homeowner and the employer. More than 7 (seven) negative experiences. Objective descriptions follow: 1) An in-person request was made with specific instruction of what the homeowner prefers with respect to condition the home is left in when finished. The cleaner smiled and agreed with "okay". But the work never was done. 2) A written request was made again with specific instruction to STOP doing something, same as #1 above, to leave the house in a specific state. This failed - second time. 3) Second written request made with specific (simple) instruction to STOP doing something. This failed. The cleaner was asked if she understands the request and she replied "yes". Yet shefailed a third time, ignoring the request. 4) A simple and friendly face-to-face fourth request was made, repeating instructions from 1, 2, and 3 above. In a friendly manner, smiling, the cleaner was asked again if she understands the one sentence, eight word request. She said "yes". Went to work, came home to find once again very simple request not done - again. It was also noted that the cleaner LEFT AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EARLY this day. We called the SL main line. The lady answering was supportive, stating this is unacceptable, that she will take care of it. My prior request was repeated to the lady, she repeated it back indicating she understood, said she would send the cleaner back to fix the issue immediately. In a later call same day, the management lady also stated she asked the cleaner if she had LEFT EARLY, and the answer was "Yes", the cleaner left early, thus we DID NOT GET WHAT WE PAID FOR, WHICH IS TIME & EFFORT. The specific excuse provided was that the Cleaner "RAN OUT OF THINGS TO DO". The cleaner came back, we left immediately, when we came back an hour later she was gone and the issue remained 100% untouched. On this day we got ripped off and only found out because of an unplanned trip home. 5) My significant other came home early one day to find THREE STRANGERS IN OUR HOME. Our usual Cleaner called-in sick. 6) The first sight when coming through the door was a STRANGER STANDING IN THE KITCHEN TALKING ON THE PHONE. The stranger put the phone down with a towel on top, which was odd. She was quizzed about who she is. She was the OWNER. She replied she is cleaning the house and that there were TWO OTHER PEOPLE IN MY BASEMENT (unseen) and they were all there to clean the house. She was sure to comment that since there were three STRANGERS IN MY HOME INSTEAD OF THE USUAL ONE PERSON THAT DOESN'T FOLLOW AGREED UPON INSTRUCTIONS, they would leave much earlier this day. As we were speaking the lady seemed preoccupied by her phone, adjusting the towel sitting on it. I surmised that she never hung up from the call, that our conversation was not private, and that her intent was to continue talking on the phone when the homeowner stepped away. The homeowner went back to work. 7) Coming home in the evening it was found that the DOOR USED FOR ENTRY BY THE THREE STRANGERS IN MY HOME, WAS LEFT OPEN (NOT EVEN LATCHED! - Security door unlocked and OPEN...by the OWNER!!!). This represents the FAILURE OF FOUR PEOPLE, SIX REQUESTS & One OWNER to perform really basic & AGREED tasks...such as LOCKING A DOOR, and they JUST CANNOT GET IT TOGETHER. We see REPEATED EXAMPLES OF INCOMPETENCE, OR LYING, Or NOT CARING, OR NOT GIVING A SHIT... you decide what it is. I am being 100% truthful. 7B) Because the security door was left unlatched, it obviously was not locked. OUR HOUSE BEING SECURED WHEN A CLEANER LEAVES IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOW CLEAN THE HOUSE IS - Do you understand? "yes"? 8) When SL was hired they recommended a specific cleaner be used on the floor. We bought the recommended cleaner but for months the Cleaning lady never used it. Instead, she used harsh detergent on the newly refinished wood floor. After approximately 8 weeks of this and noticing the sheen get duller, yet another note was left letting the Cleaner know that her employer recommended she use the non-detergent cleaner be used on our floor. She apparently didn't understand the request - she took the note to her boss asking it to be translated. The boss lady called to let us know that finally the recommended cleaner would be used on the floor. Apparently "yes" means "whatever". After this, the wood floor have been consistently treated with the recommended and AGREED UPON cleaning solution. 9) In # 8, yes, the wood floors now get treated with the recommended solution but she quit using soap on all other floors!! 10) Dirty mop water dumped adjacent back door - main walkway. 11) Repeated instances of items moved far away and left in floor - seemingly SPITE. I SWEAR ON MY LIFE THIS IS 100% TRUE and 100% ACCURATE. There is no need to lie, only to let other folks know what to expect. If you need to be respected, consider our experience That's all.. Found the service via internet. Phone call and an employee arrived to give an informed estimate of how much it would cost to clean my apartment. Date set for cleaning with Eviann, the owner. My cleaner was to be Silvia. She arrived on time, looking professional. As a worker, Silvia is a dream: hard-working, task-oriented, and pleasant to be around. She knew what she was doing--had done this work before, not new to the job. She did a great job deep cleaning an apartment (mine) that had not been cleaned thoroughly in several years. She was hard at the task for more than 3 hours and both my girlfriend (picky) and I were very pleased with the results. Silvia was focused on the job, and not addicted to her cell phone like so many other cleaners I have known in the past. Within minutes of starting her job, Silvia discovered that my vacuum cleaner was not doing its job, --asked me for a screwdriver, took the bottom plate off, and pulled out a broken belt. No wonder that I had been unable to get dirt out of my rugs and off the kitchen floor for the past year! The old vac (8years old) is now in the dumpster and a new one will arrive from Amazon tomorrow. If Silvia had not discovered this problem, I would have continued to clean my rugs with and inoperative vacuum for who knows how long! Fortunately she had a spare vacuum in her car. I will continue to use Simplified Living Home Services on a monthly basis in the future. I was impressed that I was offered a senior discount which made using this service affordable on my limited budget. I hired this company to clean my townhouse, as I was moving out of town. The owner showed up and gave me an estimate. When they showed up to do the work, the owner demanded $25 more than the estimate before they would start working. The evening after they cleaned my townhouse, I discovered that my Dirt Devil hand vacuum cleaner, 2 boxes of cleaning supplies, and most of my refrigerator magnets were missing (I found a few of them in a garbage bag). I would have to say that if you have anything but carpet in your home stay away from this company. I gave Annabelle specific instructions on how I wanted by hardwood floors taken care of and after only 4 times of them cleaning my home the finish on my hardwoods (that are only 2 years old) is ruined not to mention that the ceramic in my bathrooms looks like crap. She obviously doesn't train her help nor communicate with them, it felt like she threw them in the home and said "clean" without explaining the products I left or how to properly clean a home. If you want someone that doesn't care, buzzes through your home and you don't mind paying her $30/hr to do a half hearted job then this is the service for you. But if like me you work hard for your money and want to get a fair job for what you pay, keep looking.
