My friend and I were the only two patrons in the restaurant at the time.The place was clean and inviting and the staff was attentive. I ordered the Vegan Spring Rolls, vegetable soup, and Pineapple Curry (with extra veggies; no meat). My friend ordered the Fresh Rolls and the chicken panang. The soup was my favorite--incredibly flavorful, especially for a veggie soup. It was a large bowl chock full of chunky veggies and a few noodles at the bottom. Two people could share if that's not their main entree. The sauce in my curry was very coconut-forward and therefore a bit sweet and thick for my taste. I preferred the broth in my friend's dish to mine. If I were to visit again, I'd try a tomato-based curry if available. I have no doubt it would be delicious. You guys.. I don't usually write bad reviews for places but for the sake of saving other's money - this was bad. Really bad. I'm not even super critical or a food snob but we could not eat what we ordered. The pad Thai smelled so weird. And it tasted weird too. Sour, and I hate to say it, but almost rotten. The sweet and sour chicken had hardly any chicken, canned pineapples & vegetables, and SO much sauce in ratio to ingredients. It was like sweet & sour soup. The spicy Thai rice was not spicy at all and very greasy. The dumplings, spring rolls, and sauces were all good. I'm really hoping this was just an off day for this establishment but we will not be ordering and not recommending. Oh I was so excited for Simply Better Thai, but unfortunately it did not deliver. I ordered the drunken noodles with beef medium spicy, mango sticky rice, and a Thai tea. To be blunt, there wasn't anything I could finish eating. So far the other Thai restaurants in Fayetteville have left me very pleasantly surprised, but Simply Better Thai is honestly what I expected from a Thai place in Fayetteville NC. The Thai tea was nearly syrupy it was so sweet, the mangos were almost rotten, and the noodles tasted like they had been cooked too close to a gas flame. I love a good gas stove, but these noodles had a strange gas fume taste to them that was really off putting. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure they forgot to put any spice on the noodles because other than gas and wok stir fry favor the noodles had zero flavor and were not even close to being spicy. I personally do not recommend Simply Better Thai. It was $24 with a tip for all of my food and I threw it all away. My personal opinion? This place is not worth the heartache to your wallet. I am less then impressed. Service was good, however the food was bland and not made to a standard that I even ate after a few bites. I order the fresh rolls, which the rice roll was soaked in to much water (so it was soggy and feel apart), it the stem was still in the lettuce, there were so many noodles in the roll it made it hard to eat and made the flavor more like water noodles then anything. I also got the shrimp curry, which had 0 flavor, no seasoning. On the menu it says it comes with shrimp, bamboo, peppers and basil. What I got has 5 over cooked rubbery shrimp, 1 leaf of basil, at ton of bamboo, non reduced coconut milk (so very watery and bland), and 3 slivers of peppers. To say the least for a dish that is supposed to be full of flavor and play with your taste buds this was so bland you could put it in a blender and call it baby food. They did try to rectify the poorly made food with giving me half off my curry. ‍ I didn't mind paying for it I just wanted good food. Very sad, will not come again. read more

This is a cute little Thai restaurant in the Hope Mills area. I tried the first time and really like the atmosphere of the restaurant even though we ordered to go. The lady was super nice. The shrimp in a blanket was the best dish we ordered tonight. It's so delicious and I don't think anyone has anything quite like this around here.
