The studio is a cute little space located upstairs from K's Bento in Waipahu. Parking can be a bit tight, but there is additional parking available near Honolulu Kitchen. I have been booking my Family Photo sessions for the past 3 years with Simply Bliss. And I always love how my photos turn out. They are professional. Chantelle took newborn, 4 month, 8 month, and cake smash sessions for both of my girls, and she also recently took my first grandson's newborn photos. She sends you specific instructions on everything, down to how and when to feed your newborn prior to the session. She also clearly details policies. I read several unhappy reviewed that prompted me to post one of my own. I like Chantelle, she has always been very professional and kind to me and my family as well as always made the session fun. But in the end, I personally don't think that a photographer needs to be that way or overly accommodating, and understanding. This is her business and she is good at what she does, so you can always go to someone else if you don't like her personality. While her photos are super cute and her work is beautiful I have to agree with others when they call her out for being unprofessional. I had a schedule shoot for today at 1130am that had to be rescheduled for a very valid reason, her shop was vandalized. While she did send me an email at 830am I unfortunately never read it as I was busy getting my kids ready for their shoot. I didn't know our shoot was cancelled until I got to her shop and called her. Mind you, no phone call was made no follow up email to confirm that I got her first email. I found that very unprofessional. What kind of person books a shoot and doesn't take down any contact info only email. When I spoke with her about it she was actually very rude and unapologetic. To me, if someone paid for services and was promised those services on a certain day and you can't deliver I would expect you to make every effort to reach out to them. Not only once but multiple times to ensure they know. I responded to her email and all she could do was continue to argue with me via email. I don't have time for this and for someone who wants to be called a professional shouldn't be doing that either. read more

I chose Simply Blissful Photography to do my Son's Cake Smash Photoshoot. From pricing inquiry, thousands of questions, booking the session, setting up a date, to the day of the shoot, Chantelle was great and kind. She answered every email and every itty bitty crazy questions I asked. The package included 3 backdrops, 3 outfit changes. You can give your ideas/theme to Chantelle and she'll work with you. She has many great backdrops to choose from. She offers all her props to be used but I provided my own with one of the shoot as I had my own theme in mind. The Cake Smash set was decorated beautifully, I provided the balloons because I wanted to use these special ones I bought online. The day of the shoot, Chantelle and Lilly was very kind and patient as my baby was not cooperating, not on his best mood. We were able to take great shots on the first 2 sets, but by the time we got to the 3rd set which is the Cake Smash, he was too tired but Lilly and Chantelle did the best they could to help out on making him smile and comfortable. They placed cereal snacks on the back of the cake so he can pick on it and touch/Smash it. Still he hardly engaged and was just crying almost the whole time.. So I wasn't too satisfied with the outcome of the Cake Smash set. Chantelle was kind enough to let me set another date for a retake at an affordable price. She was able to make time and insert it on her busy schedule. Great photos this time.. After the shoot, my son had cake/icing all over him, Chantelle has a sink where she helped me wash baby and provided a towel. As requested Chantelle was able to edit total of 6 photos including the ones from the retake. I used it for my Son's Birthday Slideshow and also used it for his banner. After my son's birthday, I selected the rest of the pictures I wanted edited and it only took her a week to finish. I know it shows 3-4 weeks (I maybe wrong) for all the pictures to be edited but I'm sure she get to finish it earlier than that depends on how busy she is. Overall I'm happy I chose Simply Blissful. Chantelle and Lilly were easy to work with. And the quality of these photos is worth the price! Plus I get to keep it, post it, print as many as I please.. She uses the best quality backdrops and props and words cannot express how beautiful my daughter's portraits turn out every time. I'm a very picky *ahem* I mean particular person as it is but throw my newborn baby into the mix and I become this crazy perfectionist person that researches tons of photographers before making my selection that is deemed fit for my newborn prince! Damn, was that one sentence? Anyway, Chantelle was very patient and very good with my baby boy! Must be from her experience of having her own kids but she had a baby shusher ready and didn't even flinch when my baby peed on her during the shoot. I was all apologizing and she said "don't worry about it, I've gotten peed and pooped on many times." I wanted the photos ASAP to make the announcements which I actually ended up ordering through her and it came out amazing! You answer some questions like colors and theme and she just rolls with the different scenes and it came out perfect! She was nothing but professional and the turn around time for the edited photos, announcements and album was pretty quick so I'm not sure why the other reviewers are saying that. My experience was definitely different from theirs. I've gotten so many compliments on the photos and more importantly, I get to cherish the memories of my son at 10 days old displayed in the most playful and cutesy way! Chantelle Drumeller made our newborn photo experience so comfortable for both baby and us parents. She was extremely patient with our newborn baby girl and handled her very gingerly throughout the entire photo shoot. Chantelle never rushed us, and she definitely had an eye for the style of photos we wanted. She took really good care of our newborn baby throughout the entire shoot, treating our baby like she was her own. I was a little hesitant at first to be going to a photo studio to do the newborn photos (our first born's newborn photo shoot was done in our home), but she made it such an amazing experience for all of us in our newborn post-partum fog. After the shoot, we were pleasantly surprised to see the previews of the photo shoot up on her Facebook page that same day. We were even more surprised to receive the image drafts that same night! I just love Chantelle. I've had multiple shoots with her for my children including cake smash, birthday, and newborn. I understand she's super busy but have never had to wait more than 1 week for my unedited images to choose from, usually is a couple days and then I get the edited ones a few days after that. For newborn shoots she will literally wait all day for shots, no rushing, no bad feelings about uncooperative babies. I get nothing but huge compliments when people see my kids photos. This is the second time my husband & I are using Simply Blissful Photography to capture our little one's First Birthday milestone with a Cake Smash session. We worked with Chantelle & Lily from LilyLicious Cakes, about 5 years ago, for my older daughter's Cake Smash session. We were so happy with the results of that Cake Smash, that we knew we had to go with Simply Blissful Photography again, if we had another child. Chantelle was so helpful in preparing us for the photo session. She emailed us a link so we could see the samples of the backdrops she uses. She even asks you if there are any ideas, color concepts, baby's interests or special requests that you have for your baby's Cake Smash, so she can get a better idea of how to work with you. Chantelle & Lily were still so great & patient working with my second daughter. She loves to run around, so I was so relieved that they were so patient & knew how to work with my little one to get some good shots of her before she would start running around again. I was so surprised to find out that Chantelle sent us a link to review our proofs the same day as our Cake Smash session. Chantelle is so awesome; she even edited 3 images for us to have & use right away, while she worked on the rest of the images that we picked out. We got our fully edited HiRes digital images in a week! We will definitely be going back to Simply Blissful Photography for any future photo sessions for our girls. read more

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PHOTOGRAPHER. My appointment was at 10:30. I was practically there when I get a call at 10:36 from Chantelle threatening me that she is canceling my son's session. When I tried to explain to her that I was minutes away, she then threatened me with an extra $50 fee for having to reschedule my session. She was very rude and never apologized to me for any inconvenience she caused me, and she was very quick to charge me extra money for being 6 minutes late to my appointment. Who treats their customers this way? I hadn't even met her yet and to be honest, I really didn't want to work with someone like that. Since I had already placed my deposit and didn't think she'd return it to me, I warily kept my second appointment. When I finally did make it to the second scheduled appointment, I had to wait for at least 15 minutes for her previous session to end before my appointment could begin. In retrospect, maybe I should've charged her $50 for being late. In editing your pictures she makes it very clear that it takes up to 3 weeks for her to complete the editing (hint: Absolutely do not bother or pester her about your pictures prior to the 3 weeks). I had to remind her on the last day that my photos were due and received very poorly edited portraits of my son the very next day. It was obvious that she rushed in editing my son's photos because I could see the back drop paper curling up at the corners of the edited photos and the shots of my son were so far away that you could barely see him or his facial expressions. I thought "editing" would eliminate these flaws and that's why it takes up to 3 weeks to do it. But I guess that would only apply if you were actually making an effort when editing your clients portraits in the first place. When I finally printed some of the photos, the back drop design took up most of the photo and there was a far distanced shot of my son in the middle of the backdrop. It looked ridiculous! I truly regret hiring this photographer. It was a waste of almost $300.00. Please take this review into great consideration when choosing a photographer for your babies. When we hire and pay photographers a great deal of money to take portraits of our children, we want a professional who genuinely cares about their customers and the quality of the product that they promise to deliver. And trust me, this woman does not care about any of that. She just wants your money. If you're smart, you will find another photographer. read more

Chantelle is very unprofessional! We took our daughter for her 1 year pictures back in September. We were very excited on the outcome-as our daughter had some cute shots.... we were expecting it to be done before her 1st birthday party, but that was a total fail! her pictures weren't done until January 2015!! We paid over $700 for her services, and we get the shaft!!. Really?! 4 months after the shoot?! Mind you, within the 4 months of waiting, she didn't communicate with my girlfriend on the status of the damn pictures what so ever. She wasn't apologetic of what had happened, which pissed me off even more! Never going back again, and I'm warning all of you who want to take your kids here! It is super frustrating working with Chantelle, she is a one person business (unless it is a cake smash or multiple child shoot, you will only be working with her). She has her own agenda when it comes to getting your prints, and if you do not follow that erratic "schedule"--your photos and time will be held hostage. I must admit she has an excellent eye for newborn/child photography. She knows how to coordinate color, lighting, creating cute sets with the props, and get the baby into position. The problem is after you finish your photo session and pay, you are then at her mercy. I really wanted to like this business and have her be my go to child photographer but there is just no way i'm going back; I also wanted to have a great experience and leave a 5 star review, just from reading all the other positive reviews, but working with her to get my full purchased package was a huge $1670 (package E, largest package) plus $100 session fee nightmare with multiple emails for her to deliver the digital images on time, or continue getting the rest of the packaged prints ordered. Turn around for the 35 digital prints are 3 weeks (mine would have been even longer if I didn't ask for them the day of the 3 week mark) and that is JUST for the DIGITAL IMAGES. My ordered prints just dragged on for a while. If you just use her for digital images and birth announcements that is your best bet, otherwise she is slooow and difficult/unprofessional to work with to get your printed (physical packaged) prints. For the amount she charges she really should hire someone to do the editing of the photos so that there isn't such a loooong wait to get the items that you pay for, for your chosen package. She is just working with too many families at one time, so her service quality is dismal... like I said she was great all the way until I paid, then things just went downhill. Her forte really is taking photos, NOT customer service or getting the end product/package to the customer in a timely manner. Make sure if you do go with her that you bring your CHECKBOOK. read more

I booked a mini portrait session with Chantelle for my daughter's 6th birthday. She was very prompt in her responses to my initial email inquiries. At the time of the session, I found it really nice of her to make my daughter feel extra special by having a balloon, candy & a personalized happy birthday note waiting for her in the studio. She even threw in Elsa's backdrop & outfit for no additional charge on top of the original backdrop I already chose, just because it was my daughter's birthday. I thought that was sweet. Working with her was also a breeze & the session was done in less than 15 mins. The pictures we got we're so amazing I had to have them printed on canvass. Please do not go to Simply Blissful for pictures....there are so many other photographers out there who can take great pictures and will treat you much better than Chantelle treated us. She was very rude and impatient during my daughter's cake smash photoshoot, which was $500.00 (not worth the money). First of all, she is very impersonal in her emails and makes sure the first thing you do is give her a deposit. I also asked her a simple question about the details of the photoshoot and how long the session would take because her website said up to 2 hours. She rudely replied that I was actually wrong and that there was nothing on her website with that information (I went back and checked, and I was actually right - I even took a picture of the screen). I recently checked after my session and it now correctly says 1 hour. She also asked me to bring my own balloons for the session (I would have thought that this was included in the $500.00 fee). When I got there, instead of introducing herself, the first thing she did was tell me that I was opening her door the wrong way and then 5 minutes later, finally said, "oh, I'm Chantelle by the way." She then proceeded with the photoshoot yawning the entire time. She did not make any effort to make my daughter smile or look at the camera. The cake that she had was nice, but the frosting was a periwinkle blue instead of lavendar, and in the end, we only ended up with 1-2 pictures that were decent enough to print. After we got all of our pictures, we were so dissatisfied with them that we asked her if it was possible to get a partial refund so that we could go elsewhere to have them done and her response was what really upset me...She told us that it was not her fault that our child did not smile for the cake smash pictures and that she produced 100% on her end regardless of the final outcome. She offered no apologies and did not attempt to make any sort of effort to amend the situation by offering any type of compensation, or seem to even care that we were disappointed in the final product. She even went as far as to say that we were lucky that she gave us as many pictures as she did, which were only 38 total shots (her quote said 30-40 images, so we got what we expected, not more). Honestly, I think I could have done a better job myself and saved my $500.00. We definitely did not get the value for what we paid. Bottom line is that based on my personal experience, I would not recommend going to Chantelle. Her pictures may be ok, but working with her was a nightmare and I would never want any of my friends or family to experience what I did. read more

Working with Chantelle was a total nightmare and yes I agree she is super unprofessional. We booked our appointment and 2 hours before the scheduled shoot, she cancels on us. Then she gives us a hard time rescheduling saying that she ONLY had a couple days open. She should have been more accommodating since she was the one that canceled on us. After the shoot she took FOREVER to send the photos. And mind you, she will send EVERY SINGLE photo taken at the shoot for you to browse thru and make your final selection. So I had almost 300 photos to go thru! I told her I need a few ASAP for invites. And then she sends me the WRONG edited photo! She finally gets it right a week later. And I'm still waiting for the rest of my pics to be sent to me. She emails me weeks later to say the photos are ready for my viewing. I go to look, and she sends me a link that does not even work!!! Horrible! And thru it all she never apologizes, NEVER answers her phone and does not reply to her emails on time. She was very nice in the beginning until we paid her. After that, she could care less about her customers. And beware, her Waipahu "studio" is not the cleanest. I would not bring my newborn there. It's freezing cold and she doesn't even have hot water in the sink. If you are doing a cake smash her, she will wash your baby in her little sink with COLD WATER.
