So I sat and wasted four hours of my day. I'd worked with the proprietor before; she installed my first and second set of locks. Each lasted beautifully for years. That is why I traveled from Vermont to NYC to work with her. Never again. I felt neglected and disrespected by her. I had an early day appointment and arrived on time. I sat waiting for hours with barely a word from her. She has lost what might have been a lifetime customer. And, in addition, she OVERCHARGED me for the hot mess she created. ($900.00) And, adding insult to injury, all of her work unraveled within 4 weeks. She gave me a call weeks later an inquired about how my locks were doing. I told her the truth flat out: that they had all unraveled. She offered no remedy and assumed that it was something that I'd done to cause the damage. Nope! It was her bad work and personal attitude.

Rae (the owner) is both personable and professional. She truly knows her craft. When I first walked in, I was feeling down about my hair changes due to my health, and Rae didn't just give me a hair consultation, she gave me a safe space to vent and feel heard. The day that I had my hair done, Princess brought her to the sinks so she could test out whether or not she would be able to withstand the hair washing/ rinsing process. She left that day feeling hopeful. She had her hair relaxed today and she left feeling absolutely pleased and pain-free.
