I drove her from downtown Cleveland on recommendation of my parish priest (who is pastor of St. Rocco's, an Italian parish!). They're located directly across from St. Charles Parish on Ridge. Bakeries are a dime a dozen, but this place is not to be missed. I spoke with the owner who is a passionate guy about what he does. He shared his story that he took over the business from his father, who was trained as a pastry chef in Rome...the Eternal City itself! And it shows! First, I've never had zeppole as good as theirs in ANY city (including Chicago) in the USA. He uses a classic cream/custard that is in line with the tradition, but better than any other place I've been to in any city in the USA. They call them beignets. They're amazingly good. Buying 2 dozen for St. Joseph's Day coming up. I had one of their brownies which are just awesome. They remind me of the brownies I used to get as a kid at a local bakery. They were thick but fudgey, not cake-like. It had walnuts and the right amount of fudge frosting! SO GOOD!!! Lastly, I had one of their cannoli, which was very unique. It was a traditional cannoli, but the filling was lighter and less pastey. Despite that, it was still classic and very filling. Their display shows a variety of cakes, pastries, donuts, you name it. I didn't buy one, but their Russian Tea Cakes looked exceptional. Tightly rolled, filled with rasberry jam/compote around a very tender and salted shell/crust. I'm definitely going back for one. All of their donuts look delicious. Worth driving to Parma as a destination bakery! Sorry, I forgot photos for this too. But trust me, you'll love it! Worth going to. PS: They don't sell coffee, so get your own. read more

My first visit to this local bakery did not disappoint! Fresh paczki with fillings like marshmallow and tiramisu, cannolis in two sizes, and many other tempting sweet treats beautifully displayed in glass cases. They offer some savory breads too - the Italian was perfect for the lasagna that I made that evening. Service was friendly and helpful, and parking in the back was convenient. I'm a regular customer of Colozza Bakery I can really say I've never been disappointed in any Bakery product that I have gotten. Joan and staff are the best so friendly they make you feel like family when you walk through the door, Love their Cassata cake nut and poppyseed roll kolache's breads cookies pies you name it I love it I would definitely recommend.Colozza Bakery when you're in the Parma area and the Bakery products are displayed very clean glass showcases I just love this place read more

Ordered a cassata cake from them which was excellent and well crafted . Beautiful cake and tasted great. Also ordered a pastry tray and nothing on that tray was fresh. I know it wasn't made on the day we picked it up. Everything on it was stale and dry and nobody at our party ate it or even wanted to take it home . I ordered a red velvet cake for my sister's anniversary and it came out amazing!!!! Super moist with the perfect balance sweet! Went back the next day and had the chocolate cover cannoli.. Picked up a cannoli cake for a birthday same day. They had quite a few case cakes to pick from in different flavors and pretty designs. Colozza's bakery made our wedding cake 25 yrs ago and it was not only beautiful, but delicious. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary yesterday and asked Colozza's bakery to make 3 heart cakes...just like we had with our wedding cake. They did not disappoint!!! Not only were the cakes beautiful, but again delicious! We got so many compliments on our cake 25 yrs ago and just as many, if not more, again at our anniversary party. They did a wonderful cake for my nieces 1st birthday party. Super fresh cake that was moist and the whipped frosting was excellent. They made it the morning of the party and kept it in the fridge. By the time we cut the cake, it was the perfect temperature. We were able to serve the cake to 20 people and still had some leftover. It was $70 for the cake and small smash cupcake. 100% would recommend this bakery to you. read more

I used to live right near Colozza's Bakery the past 20+ years, but I haven't stepped foot inside their doors until Fat Tuesday 2019. They were on the news and I decided to visit the bakery at 6:30 am that Tuesday and there was barely anyone in front of me. SOO this Fat Tuesday (February 25, 2020), I decided to make my way there again at 7 am before my flight out to Orlando. Low and behold, there was one other customer in front of me with plenty of staff, ready to help! Within 4-5 minutes, my half a dozen of packzi (pronounced pun-ch quee) was ready to go and I made my way to the Hopkins! Ordered a cake to be ready at 8 am for a memorial service. They lost our cake ticket and very rude customer service. After picking up the cake the girl at the counter didn't say thank you or sorry or have a good day. I grew up about 300 feet from this great bakery. Colazza's is one of those little places that puts the fun back into life with their little cakes and delectables. I stop in from time to time to pick up some donuts or other pastries for breakfast. When I walk in the front door, the smells of all the tasty treats that lie within serenade my nostrils. They have so many tasty things to offer, but I know I can only eat a few of them before I can't eat any more. The cakes they offer are delicious. Pretty disappointed with my daughters smash cake. The cake design was completely wrong and didn't taste good. We also had 24 red velvet cupcakes. And they forgot part of my order on pickup so we had to go back to the bakery in the middle of the birthday party. I thought cost was a bit pricey (but I don't have much to compare to). $75 for two dozen red velvet cupcakes and a single tier 5" buttercream smash cake. Colozza's is a sweet little bakery in the Parma area. Known for their Italian treats, they make fabulous cannolis, tiramisu and cassata cakes among many other things. The service is always friendly and quick and the bakery is always fully stocked. Make sure you're very clear with what you're asking for when you place an order. When I ordered a cake for my Olympic themed party I requested for it to say "Welcome Friends" but when I got it home it actually said "Welcome Friendy." We all had a good laugh about it though. Definitely try Colozza's if you're ever in Parma. Their desserts are delicious! read more

Never had a paczki before and every time I drive home to my parents, I see a sign for them. I guess they are only available during Easter and today was the last day to get them! They did not disappoint. They are perfectly filled jelly donuts with a perfect touch of power sugar dusting. I will have to look up the history and origin of these delicious filled donuts. **Writing this as I eat leftover cake** WOW. Cassata cake heaven. Easy to get a cake with their ready-made cakes and it adds the perfect touch to any party. Or should I say taste?! Usually people don't eat much cake but this was a hit! It was super affordable too, considering it was a special cake and not some grocery store mass produced cake. $38 for a quarter of a sheet!! History

Established in 1975.

The bakery was started originally by John and Joanna Colozza in 1975 and was located on Storer Avenue in Cleveland. After five years, they decided to move to Parma 1980 and have remained there ever since. The bakery is currently operated by their son, Angelo and his wife, Joan since the early-1990s. John Colozza was born and raised in Macchiagodena, Italy and became a pastry chef apprentice at the age of 17 in Rome, Italy. John moved to the United States and worked as a pastry chef at Cavoli's Italian Restaurant in Cleveland and as a baker at Fazio's Supermarket before opening Colozza's Bakery. Angelo Colozza was born and raised in the Cleveland area and began working with his father in his childhood. Angelo has over 30 years experience working in the bakery, working as a baker and cake decorator.
