Why is it so difficult to order over the phone these days? So often people get things wrong and I speak very clearly and I try to be very exact. I told the young lady on the phone that I wanted to a combination of a gyro with french fries. I knew there would be potential for confusion so I made sure to tell her that I want a sandwich and french fries. I had my suspicions when they charged me close to $30, and also that she asked me soup or salad. Of course I just got home and her I am sitting there with a plate full of meat and two wrapped up Pita breads. This is not what I wanted. Another great Greek local spot in the neighborhood. We have had their food at a friend's party and also have ordered out from them. One of the best deals for a family dinner is the family package. The family package is the best bang for your buck as it serves easily up to 6 people and you can have leftovers. It gives you a choice of two dips, choice of salad, choice of two meats, two sides and pita bread. The spicy feta dip is great. Creamy with a little kick. Goes well with the pita. The tzatziki was very creamy and fresh. The meats were cooked perfectly and very juicy. The lemon potatoes and veggies were very flavorful. We definitely will be ordering again. read more

But there are a few spots to sit and eat. It's a small place so not much room. Best to take out and be a realan and get the sauces all over your clothes while you eat. Will I be back? Whenever I order falafel at a non-Mediterranean restaurant and it's God-awful, I blame me. Tonight I ordered delivery for the first (and last) time and there's no one else to blame than G & H for my burned, peculiarly colored, and totally terrible tasting falafel. Isn't falafel supposed to be slightly green on the inside? This falafel was black on the outside and grey inside, like something your gut tells you not to eat, but your head who needs to justify the $16 price tag tells you to "just take one more bite". My family and I used to love coming to this place picking up a late lunch before heading over to the beach. However lately we have noticed that the quality of the greek salads + side order has been going down even before the pandemic hit. I'm very big on supporting local businesses but you can't chinch on quality. We recently ordered 2 large greek salads to go one w/ grilled chicken + falafel and the other w/ gyro + falafels and 2 large orders of french fries. The total order came out to be roughly $80 w/ tip. When we got home we noticed that they completely forgot the gyro which we paid for but doubled up on the iceberg lettuce. I placed an order for delivery last night for dinner. I ordered five gyro sandwiches and made sure I added condiments. When the sandwich arrived there was no sauce on the gyro and was very dry. Also no napkins, no forks. It was absolutely disappointing. I immediately called. The person whom I spoke to wasn't apologetic and offered to delivery the sauces after realizing their mistake. I told him this will take too long and I wanted to bring it up to their attention. Without even saying anything he hung up the phone. Very rude and will never order from here. read more

Gyros and heros -- Certainly NOT zeros Could eat the whole menu with a beer -OH! These folks are some of the real covid-19 MVPs. Most of their business is takeout as the interior, is, well nothing much to look at. Been ordering from G+H for a good two years or so. More frequently as of recent considering supermarkets are bit scary, currently. When the craving occurs, the food always satisfies. Even when getting delivery, mozzarella sticks stay crunchy, not soggy and your grub is still warm. The avogolemono has little to no pasta in it, so prepare yourself for a warm comforting bowl of lemon chicken goodness. Lunch platters are a great deal and just about feed 2 hangry adults. Add a small salad to it and you've got yourself a full meal. G+H even has kid sized portions for when you're not super hungry. Works for me since I'm basicly the size of a 9th grader anyway... Sometimes you'll get a sweet little note written on your take out bag. When I had a problem the last time I ordered delivery they knew right away and sent out my food ASAP. First time trying this place and not really impressed. I ordered the gyro and salad combo and was really disappointed overall. The gyro came wrapped in the same container as the salad. When I tried to pull the gyro out, it literally almost slipped out of my hand from all the salad dressing that was on it from being in the same container as the salad. When I finally got the gyro out and unwrapped from the aluminum foil, the pita wrapped was so packed with salad that I couldn't even bite into the gyro. I noticed the pita was tough and burnt and the gyro meet was very cold and didn't really taste too good. I normally love gyros but unfortunately this one wasn't my favorite. This place is a solid 3.5 stars. Ordered take-out from here the other night and had a mix of food quality. Ordered the jalapeño poppers, which were not that great, i've had better frozen ones. The bbq wings were mediocre, very fatty. For meals, we ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner platter, which was pretty good, nice amount of veggies and chicken. The falafel dinner platter with my brother in law quite liked and was again the right amount of food to cost. And lastly the pita pizza, which is definitely an interesting item, but it could use a pinch of salt on the spinach and a smidge more feta, otherwise was interesting. I had the chicken souvlaki platter. I had grilled veggies n a salad, lunch size for $8.95. Well, I tell ya...what a good dish. Salad was much more than I expected! It's not one of those small puny salads, it's hearty! Chicken and veggies, wonderful. The dish also includes, pita, white sauce and oil n vinegar. They served the food to me at my table. I enjoyed the dish and ordered a cheeseburger deluxe to go, for my son. As I was eating, I noticed people coming in and out for various things. The young lady greeted each by name and it's clear, these were the "regulars". She followed up with me and just was super attentive. If you're looking for that special place that doesn't look like much on the outside but has great food... then keep looking, as this is not the place. The Spinach Pie was dry and tasteless, the Buffalo Chicken wrap was supposed to be grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, romaine and blue cheese. The chicken was fried and dry, there was no discernible mozzarella and no blue cheese. The Chicken fingers were sliced to the point that they actually looked like fingers (guy's they're not supposed to look like that). I should have known when I looked at their website and they didn't even spell the town Bellmore correctly. There are 2 "l's. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and when I was close by I decided to give it a try. Ordered a gyro, a medium Greek salad with gyro meat and a side of onion rings. Came to around $26. I was looking to try the spinach pie, but it was only offered as a platter. I asked if I could get it as a side and was told no, boo. Took maybe 15 mins for my order to be ready. I did not have the gyro, but it was pretty stuffed compared to other Greek places. The medium Greek salad with gyro meat was more than enough of a meal for myself. I had about half my salad leftover (no meat though ate that all) the meat was thick slices of your typical lamb & beef combo, but it was very tasty. It was juicy and not dried out. Good amount of feta, red onion, cucumbers, and pitted kalamata olives alongside one pepper & stuffed grape leaf. Side of tzatziki was super thick and great! They put the salad dressing on the side and I'm glad they did, I tried some before I put it on and I didn't care for it, had a curry/cumin/spicy taste. I just used the tzatziki instead. Side of onion rings was large and stayed hot and crisp even after being in the container and driving home. They were the battered kind not the bread crumb ones which I prefer. I always get the same thing - medium greek salad with chicken souvlaki. It comes with a warm, toasted pita and a tub of tzatziki. Their homemade dressing is out of this world. It is full of fresh herbs and olive oil and almost seems more like a thin pesto rather than a dressing....My CW gets the gyro with fries. I may or may not have stolen a fry or two (or 6....?) on the way back from picking up our lunch once or twice and I can tell you their fries are seriously fantastic. They're coated in yummy & super crispy. The best part about this tiny little hole in the wall is that they are super nice. Like the kind of nice that makes you be like "wait, huh?" in this rude, impatient, nasty little world we live in. They seem genuinely grateful for your business.
