The people before us had not completed many of the spring cleaning type of activities plus we did some remodeling, so need less to say we knew it wasn't going to be a normal cleaning. I told them over the phone the situation and the said that will be fine but it will be extra $25. When the cleaning crew(2 of them didn't speak a word of English) showed up I walked them through the house pointing out each and every area I wanted cleaned. Once we reviewed the house they asked for $150 more than what I was quoted on the phone. I called the company and they said the charge would be $250 based on my specifications. I had to leave to work while my mother came to watch over. When my mother would point out items that were not cleaned properly the lady would talk back and told her to do it herself. Once I came back from work and saw what was completed I called the company immediately complained. Jessica picked up the phone and told me to send pictures of what was not cleaned. Said she will try her best to work something out. Next day I called back and she said I would have to wait for the "owner" to come back to Dallas as she is currently overseas she said she will check the availability of one of the other cleaning crews. A day later I called back and then the tone changed saying the pictures I sent don't show any dirt which they clearly do. I mentioned over the phone that the areas I was showing were not even touched at all (inside kitchen cabinets, tub, shower, above the kitchen cabinet, blinds and etc...).. Then I was told these areas are not on the list, to witch I stated I know that's why I paid $100 more to ensure these items are taken care of. Make a longer story shorter they would not respond and asked me to stop calling. All I wanted was for a crew to come out and clean what I paid for. They left the oven without wiping out the oven cleaner, kitchen and utility room sinks were dirty, baseboards weren't wiped off, drawers were left dirty. They were supposed to clean out all cabinets and drawers. Some of the closets were never vacuumed. Very disappointed. After complaining, they came back out and cleaned again. The sinks and oven looked lots better, but we mopped floors again and water was very dirty. They could not have mopped it again.

I was moving out in less than a week and definitely didn't have time for that. The third place didn't even pick up their phone! Then.. I called Dial A Maid. I spoke with Julie and for a 2bed/2bath (move in/move out clean), she quoted me about 37+tax per hour. She said it would take about 4.5-5 hrs total. I ultimately decided to go with Dial A Maid because Julie was so sweet on the phone and very helpful. The two ladies they sent over were very efficient. They tackled each room together and were pretty thorough. After they left, I went to inspect the rooms and appliances. HOLY SMOKES! The bathtub, oven, and fridge were waaaaay cleaner than when I first moved in. Everything looked brand spanking new! The last apt I moved out of, I ended up buying new drip pans for the stove instead of cleaning them. Nope, not these ladies. They scrubbed the ever living crap out of those things and made them look new again. I would have given 5 stars but they missed just a couple of spots. Not exactly their fault because only someone who lived there would have really been able to spot them. Overall, a great first time experience with calling a cleaning service!

Off to Google I went! Dial-A-Maid was one of the first services that popped up. I e-mailed and was promptly called back by a very nice woman (the owner, I assume?) named Julie. Julie asked me if I had any questions and went over pricing with me. At no time was there ever any pressure to make an appointment - in fact, I was the one who finally said I'd like to schedule an appointment, so thumbs up for no pressure sales tactics! Today, the two maids arrived right on time. I asked them how long and she told me to check in after an hour. I came back an hour later and one of them was totally hardcore scrubbing my shower and the other was underneath my bed with a pile of who knows what. So... I came back after another hour. When I came back after the second hour, my apartment was spotless - baseboards cleaned, no dirt, residue, or debris anywhere. In fact, I think the place is cleaner than it was when I moved in. Both maids were friendly and from what I saw, very respectful of my things. The price was a little bit steep, but that's in large part due to the fact that this was my initial cleaning - subsequent cleanings are much cheaper, apparently.

Whichever of the three ladies that cleaned my kitchen TRASHED my cooktop and double sinks by using a scrubber that left both items completely scratched. I don't even use one of those sinks. It's my drying sink. Deep scratches everywhere. I'm just glad she didn't bother to clean the the fridge doors, dishwasher and microwave. Thank god! She would have killed those too! But listen...I can't prove it. I dont have cameras. So I can just live with the damage or re-buy $1800 worth of new kitchen items. They offered me a free cleaning...hard pass! Stay out of my house!
