I always enjoy SIMPLY THAI when I am Newark. I often order the Pad See Ew, as it's one of my favorites. The ambience is very cozy and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Simply Thai offers a variety of options -- the food is very flavorful and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant. I would definitely try something new next time!

This review is based on takeout. The spicy beef salad was almost only beef and a few pieces of lettuce. The flavor was not as good as it has been in the past. The green curry chicken portion was small. The Pad Thai had 3 prawns and not much tofu either.

Was trying to call her on a Friday night to order for pick up but no one would answer the phone. So I went to their website and put the order in but couldn't find any sticky rice, so I ordered papaya salad, and mango with coconut sticky rice. When I got there it was pretty busy which makes sense that they didn't answer the phone. I asked if they have sticky rice and they told me no, which is surprising that a Thai place doesn't have regular sticky rice! Papaya salad was nice and refreshing and a good portion. The mango was perfectly ripe but the sweet sticky rice that came with it was dry and barely had any coconut milk. Prices on the higher side. As busy as it was when I got there the worker was nice and seemed to handle the rush well.

Simply Thai was amazing!! I came for my first time last week and really enjoyed it. Service was very fast and attentive and they were very welcoming! We got spring rolls, pad kee mao, and vegetable curry - it was all so delicious, and so filling and we even had leftovers!! Ambiance is very nice and calm and there are plenty of seats all around. Will definitely come back!

My coworker ordered takeout for lunch. It took forever and we discovered a hair in the food. There was also a small piece of hair on the mango sticky rice. Would not recommend.

My friend recommended Simply Thai to us since we were craving Thai food. We came on a Saturday evening and got seated quickly because they were not too busy. The restaurant was not too big, but it was clean and cozy. The staff was nice and friendly, too. They were helpful when we had questions about their menu and kept checking on us if we needed water refills. We ordered Red Curry Chicken, Tamarind Chicken Wings, Pineapple Fried Rice, Fried Banana With Chocolate, Fresh Rolls, and Sweet Sticky Rice with Fresh Mango. The red curry was delicious. It had some heat which I appreciated. The tamarind chicken wings and fried rice were also great. The wings were sweet, tangy, and sticky. The sticky rice was good, but the fried banana was a hard pass. It was okay; the batter was good, but the banana didn't taste fresh. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed our visit to Simply Thai. The service was great and the price was reasonable.

Ordered takeout on a Friday evening by phone without issue. Food got home 30 minutes later piping hot and delicious. Serving sizes were massive and four dishes fed 5 people with leftovers. Shrimp Pad Thai - Came with 9 quite large shrimp. Deliciously citrusy and savory, must've had like 4 servings of this throughout dinner. Beef Pad Kee Mow - Beef was tender if a little dry, noodles were nice and chewy. Solid take on a Thai food staple. Chicken Basil Fried Rice - Good but nothing to call home about. Chicken was toeing the line between moist and dry, but overall was flavorful from the basil. Panang Beef Curry - No complaints! Beef was more tender than in the Pad Kee Mow and not very spicy. Craveable food. Will probably be back when we can't figure out what to eat for dinner.

Order three dishes to go last night for dinner and this is what I got. Ordering take out of three dishes for dinner used to yield more food. Based on the dishes being served in the restaurant it is not worth it to order take out here. Dine in is the only option here. Food tasted good as always but we had to go out for more food.

    Chewy odd tasting chicken

Slowly going down hill. The shorter male server is extremely impatient and sometimes rude. Quality; the texture of the chicken is chewy and tastes old. It doesn't seem like the owners care anymore.

We usually gym next to this spot and were craving Thai food after the gym. We decided to try this spot and got our typical tom yum and pad see ew. The Chu Chee Ta Lay was by far my favorite. The waiter was so nice and had great recommendations for next time. I really enjoyed my dinner here with my husband and can't wait to come back :) Also, the portions are huge!

This used to be my favorite restaurant, but I've been treated poorly twice now. The waiter who serves me doesn't come back to my table until I'm finished, and they don't ask if I need anything else, but they do ask the other customers. I took my best friend there, telling him it was the best restaurant, and even he thought it was personal. Sadly, I'm crossing it off my list.

This is the place I usually go for for Thai food. The place is a bit pricier but staff is always friendly and stop by occasionally to fill up our water. Food is delicious and flavorful. One of the dishes we usually order is deep fried catfish, which is crispy and aromatic and perfect to pair with rice. I would recommend stopping by if you're craving Thai food.

Very Greasy Pineapple Fried Rice & they didn't add the pineapple

Food greasy, very small servings, and they often mess up orders as there is a guy who has trouble understanding orders. Definitely better places to go for Thai food in Newark.

We had the purple-colored Ube Pancakes and the Khao Hom Waffle, which contained strips of fresh coconut meat, and both beautifully-plated dishes were topped with berries and syrup. I was an even bigger fan of the Thai side of the menu, starting with the Papaya Salad, a refreshing, crunchy mixture of shredded papaya, green beans, tomatoes, and crushed peanut in a spicy, sweet, acidic dressing made of fish sauce and lime. For our mains, the Northern Thai Khao Soi was a noodle soup made of egg noodles and chicken breast strips in a rich coconut curry, topped with crispy egg noodles, pickled cabbage, and fried shallots. From the Chef's Special menu, the Tom Yum Crab Omelet was a mound of jasmine rice enveloped with an egg omelet, topped with chunks of crab, mushrooms, and a creamy tom yum sauce; and my favorite dish was the Roti Gai Tod, a hearty combination of breaded chicken thigh, roti (a flaky flatbread), cucumber salad, jasmine rice, and a mild but flavorful yellow curry sauce on the side. Khao Hom Waffle- coconut pandan waffle with fruits and syrup on the side. I wish they replaced the syrup with coconut milk syrup for better flavor and used no coconut shreds as a topping. Ube Pancake (side order)- one thick ube pancake that turned out dry when eaten with syrup. Never order anything that is not Thai on the menu. They should add Thai Tea pancakes to their menu with housemade Thai Tea syrup to make it more fusion. Pad Kee Mao w/ Chicken- I regret ordering this because the string beans were half raw, the tofu was dry, and the dish was a bit spicy. I should've ordered Pad Thai or Ka-Pow Short Rib Benedict instead. Thai Tea- strong and sweet, not too watery. It was less crowded when we arrived at 10 am on the weekend. The waitresses were fast and efficient, and the restaurant was nice and spacious.
