So sad I didn't take any photos of the food but that just means I have to come back! I'm not a huge fan of chicken but saw this place on Instagram. I ordered the loaded fries and tenders on the side and it was sooo good! The chicken was juicy and seasoned so well. I ordered mild because I can't handle spice and it was perfect! The owner was so kind. Definitely can't wait to come back and try more from their menu, it's small but quality over quantity. Outdoor seating with picnic tables and string lights. Cute date vibes! read more

First of all, it breaks my heart that Yelp still allows pirate reviews. Saw two one-star reviews written April 11th - the same day - by reviewers that only had this one review (but they were clearly familiar with the process). If you want to bomb someone because you don't like someone, pick another forum. To Yelpers, feel free to scroll down, but if you know the difference between a faker and a real review, you'll see. I ran into Firechikz while they were at Dale Hardware. I was in a hurry and had not eaten. Asked him to make up something good while I was inside. Came out to generous quantity of spicy seasoned hot wings. I mentioned seasoned, because these weren't just wings with hot powder on them - they actually had a seasoning rub. They were cooked perfectly and at just the right temperature. My impression just after eating them was that this was restaurant level food with the convenience of a truck. If you're a hater - glad you're not coming back - but I certainly will. If you're curious, Firechikz has my stamp of approval. read more

When I placed an order at their food truck and went to pay cash, I was told they didn't have any change. My total was $15 and some change. I gave them $16 and of course I didn't get any change back. I know we're talking about less than a dollar in change back, but it was still the principle of the matter. I LOVEDDd the churro it was so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside definitely my top favorite churro that I've had in the area!! I had the fire which in a medium spice level which was manageable, good quality chicken and everything is seasoned well. I enjoyed the fries and the texture, not too salty which was great. I like how they give you a little cup of sauce! And free lollipops !! I like the courtyard area with picnic tables and lights to sit and eat at, very pretty and good for warmer nights. Plenty of parking and the place isn't too hard to find! The owner is very friendly as well. Will definitely come back read more

I'm sitting in front of Ohlone Cigar shop at 3370 Mowary Blvd in Fremont CA. There is a Firechikz mobile food truck here. The owner is sitting talking with some patrons from the cigar shop. A homeless man rolled up in a wheel chair with one leg. He offered his last 5.00 bucks for some fries. The owner said keep it and went on to make the man a full dinner delicious hamburger and soul fries with a soda on the house. The owner of the mobile food truck does not know I'm posting this review. I was enjoying a beer at Freewheel Brewing when my friend decided to challenge my spicy tolerance by special ordering Firechikz's hottest chicken sandwich. Was very impressed, the sandwich was perfectly crispy and very juicy. The spicy was great, at the upper limits of my enjoyment... let me translate: 90% of people would have their lower jaw melt off. 10/10 would order again. Maybe next time Zazay can really challenge me? You should try this truck. read more

Went to Firechikz this past weekend and I can honestly say that I enjoyed my experience at this pop up and that the food was pretty decent! The service was definitely the highlight of the experience for me. I was greeted with care by two women, one of which was the order taker and cook and one who was there as a kind gesture to greet customers and help the order taker and cook. I was offered free Chai Tea and a free dessert, both of which I had never tried before. I loved the Chai and I found the dessert to be decent. Food-wise, I ended up ordering their chicken sandwich with came with fries, and I also ordered a churro. Took it to go. The sandwich ended up being really well seasoned and flavorful, however my main complaint would be that the chicken was a bit overcooked and the sandwich ended up being a bit on the dryer side as a result. Still, the sauce and coleslaw and the season made it a pretty decent sandwich. Would give it a 6 out of 10 as is and probably an 8 if the chicken was not overly cooked. The fries that came with the sandwich were good and well-seasoned, and the churro was also good! Overall, I enjoyed the experience! read more

I was excited to hear another halal hot chicken restaurant opened, thus a friend and I happily stopped here for dinner and ordered a firewich. The hot chicken sandwich was a good size and was served with coleslaw and french fries. The chicken sandwich quickly fell apart as the sandwich buns became soggy which was surprising due to the lack of sauce. The chicken tender had a flavorful coating, however was short of a crispy exterior. Finally, the chicken seemed to be overly cooked, resulting in it to be very dry and difficult to chew. Highly recommend. Food cooked fresh and scrumptious. Delightful and delicious. Person who made my food made it with passion. Great service with a smile. Area it was in was hidden. Needs to be more marketed. This particular day I went it was peaceful until random person came and distributed my peaceful thoughts. But it's okay. One thing I learned in customer service is to ignore the headache and go on with my day. But this skill didn't work. How did I over come this? The food was so flavorful that I was lost of words, I couldn't believe it myself. This isn't no 99 cent blend. This blend is made with love and passion. The owner knows what he is doing. Just stopped by- and got the chicken sandwich and fries. Cool patio setting- patio heaters everything was made to order. ...so the fries were HOT which is my most common complaint- also- they had a unique hot spice to them. The sandwich was extremely satisfying- not dry like other chicken sandwiches- as there's a cold slaw over the top keeping it very moist. Just a great place to hang- with the sound of a water fountain and relaxing lighting. read more

Hello everyone i have never had a spicy fried chicken sandwich before that is BS , I'm sorry for $15 this is the worst sandwich I've ever had, first of all this guy in the truck with his back against the front on the phone I was there for 5mins saying hello I had to get louder to get his attention but he was a nice when I got his attention, so I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, let me tell you I'd rather get the 2 spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes for $7.50 then this BS. It is not spicy at all, maybe I like it ghost pepper spicy but yeah it's ok not for $15 read more

Oh man, this place is too good!! I tried this place at halal fest and even though I waited in a long line and waited a while to get my food the quality of food did not disappoint! These guys were swamped with orders but the food was still amazing! Huge plus it's halal! I really really love the sandwiches so much flavor! I just wouldn't suggest this place for kids, it might be too hot for them! DEF give this place a try!!! read more

Super good chicken! It brings up the heat, but doesn't kick your teeth with it. Fries (with old bay? yum!) were very good and the coleslaw was made to not get in the way of anything. A plus! That honey mustard... :) This truck is currently parked near a halal taco truck getting a lot of buzz (that it deserves), but Firechikz is NOT to be overlooked! read more

Went out today to pick up some El Halal Amigos and found Firechikz in the same lot. Definitely enjoyed the food! The Firechikz (Fire) chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. I got the 2nd tier spice level and while it did have a kick, it was thankfully not enough to set my soul on fire. I'm ready for level 3 (hottest) when I go back. The fries were cooked to perfection, crispy and very well seasoned. The slaw is to die for. Creamy, yet crisp. It does not overpower the sandwich. It simply compliments the other flavors. Along with the generous portion of sauce on said sandwich, it was a medley of flavors that goes so well together. My wife had the Honey Fire Sandwich. The addition of honey only enhances the flavor while also neutralizing some of the spice. Recommended to those who aren't fans of spice most definitely. We also picked up some churros which are filled with caramel that takes you straight to flavor town. Hands down one of the best churros we have ever had. We got hooked up with a can of Salam Cola. It was my first time trying it and I was not disappointed. Amazing soda. I appreciate the fact that they have a no sugar option of the soda as well. The people working the food truck were extremely friendly and absolute professionals. You can tell they are passionate about providing the best service to their customers. They were courteous and explained the menu in detail as it was first time at their establishment. We highly recommend Firechikz and will definitely go back. read more

This raises an important question: at what point does management step in to balance hospitality with serving waiting guests? While no one should be rushed through their meal, when tables have clearly finished dining and a long wait is building, there should be some effort to manage table turnover during peak dinner hours. After waiting about 45 minutes with no indication that seating would happen anytime soon, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Ironically, we didn't receive the text that our table was ready until 8:07 PM--nearly an hour and a half after we first checked in. The food may be great, but based on this experience, the waitlist management left a lot to be desired. I hope Backyard Bayou reviews how they handle busy nights and finds a better balance between accommodating guests who want to linger and serving the many customers waiting to dine.

For sides, we got the mac and cheese, Caesar salad, fully loaded normal baked potato with bacon and sour cream, and fully loaded sweet potato with marshmallow. Everything was so delicious and it was a lot of food so we had a lot of leftovers to bring home. Each entrée was like two meals. Let's start with the food. My favorite meal to get from here is loaded fries add a tender as well as honey! This is quite honestly the best meal I've had in a while. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and reviews its food preparation and handling procedures to make sure something like this does not happen to another family. The breading was on the thicker side, but the chicken underneath was genuinely juicy. When I pulled one apart, the juices actually ran onto the toast underneath. They were also extremely hot right out of the fryer, so give them a couple of minutes before biting in. The wings themselves were not spicy. They had a fairly straightforward savory seasoning and were flavorful enough to eat without sauce, which is important because this was not a case of sauce rescuing dry or bland chicken. The yellow tangy garlic sauce, however, was much hotter than I expected. At first I thought the heat was coming from the wings, but it was definitely the sauce. Before arriving, I specifically called ahead to ask whether we needed to come early because I understood restaurants can become very busy during iftaar time. I was told that arriving 10 to 15 minutes before iftaar would be perfectly fine and that our food would be ready around the time of breaking fast. Based on that reassurance, we came about 20 minutes before iftaar expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. The restaurant was crowded but not chaotic. We sat down and waited while servers walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us. Eventually, I had to flag someone down myself just to place an order. I even asked directly how long the food would take because we were fasting all day and had two small children with us. The server confidently assured us the food would arrive around iftaar time. That never happened. When iftaar finally arrived, all we received were dates and water. No appetizers, no main dishes, nothing. We continued waiting while table after table around us received their food. Meanwhile, our children became increasingly upset and hungry. Anyone with young kids knows that after a full day of fasting, asking them to wait another 20, 30, even 50 minutes is nearly impossible. Our kids were crying, exhausted, and confused as they watched other families eat while we sat there with empty plates. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of honesty and accountability. Every time we asked about our order, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then eventually the server disappeared entirely for nearly 20 minutes and avoided us altogether. A woman later approached us, but instead of apologizing or taking our concerns seriously, she became dismissive and defensive. By this point, nearly 50 minutes had passed since we ordered, and she still insisted we "shouldn't complain" (in Farsi) because the food would come "soon." That response was honestly more upsetting than the delay itself. A simple apology, honesty, or basic compassion toward a fasting family with small children would have gone a long way. We eventually left the restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. What saddened me most is that this happened during Ramadan, a month centered around patience, generosity, hospitality, and good character. In Afghan culture and Islamic ethics, guests are supposed to be treated with dignity and care, especially during iftaar. Halal is not only about the food being permissible. Halal is also about honesty, fairness, respect, and how people are treated. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all of those areas. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful service or a welcoming family environment.
