The first thing I noticed was the sign on the outside that said they were soon going to be closed for 3 weeks for a family vacation. That excited me, knowing now that I was walking into a family owned business. What you walk into is a small, but cozy, dining area - the sign on the wall says they can fit 44 people in there. We had a table reserved and thusly, did not have to wait. Throughout the dinner, I did notice customers waiting for both a table and for takeout and I'll say, it's worth the wait! We were served by a sweet lady, of whose name I cannot remember. She was very attentive to our group of 8 guests. We ordered 3 different appetizers: Veggie Spring Rolls, Steamed Dumplings and the Money Bags. I tried the Spring Rolls and Money Bags and though I wasn't the biggest fan, everyone else at the table enjoyed them (I likely would have enjoyed the Chicken Spring Rolls more!). The picture I have is after everyone at the table picked off a piece of chicken because of how delicious it looked. The portions were great, enough for two people that aren't starving. There was plenty of sauce - of which was very flavorful. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the rice did a great job at soaking up some of the extra sauce that was in the bottom of the plate. Yesterday the shrimp was /hard, crispy, overcooked. At first I thought it was a tail shell but no, it was overcooked and included dark pieces of garlic. The eggplant dish used to have pieces of pork jalapeños and looks of spicy flavor. Yesterdays's order had one piece of pork and lots of tomato sauce. The texture was too soft and the flavor was bland. The original owner knew how to cook flavorful food. The current owner appears to be more concerned with cutting corners. Sadly I won't be going back.
