The septic tank backed up and now we had zero bathrooms, zero showers, and zero washer, etc. Of course I went straight to Yelp and found Alliance, they had the best reviews by far and I gave them a call and spoke to Nyla. She was so kind with a great sense of humor, which helped ease the stress. She asked the question, if we knew where the manhole was for the septic. Finding the manhole started a two day ordeal during a historic heatwave with shovels and by the third day a backhoe. Success! You would think calling on a Monday morning would be hard to schedule but Nyla arranged for a truck to be here that afternoon. Nyla sent the nicest driver Robert, who was friendly and knowledgeable and worked aggressively to solve the worst septic tank blockage he had ever seen. He worked diligently and in two hours he had the problem solved. Seriously, Robert was so nice. We needed some extra work done and Robert called first thing this morning with a quote and it was less expensive than our expectations! At the insistence of my business partner, we hired Dan (owner of the defunct Folkrod, now called Agape Plumbing), to do ALL new plumbing on a full remodel of my ranch home. Dan was pleasant enough at first, but his personal issues quickly began interfering with his ability to arrive on time, be at the job when he said he would, or complete quality workmanship. When he was on the job, his frenetic work approach made it difficult for other sub-contractors to work around. Early on, I wanted to replace him, but my business partner who knew him personally, insisted otherwise. For me, the final straw (after arriving 3+ hrs late again) was the rush job Dan did so he could take off on a weekend Vegas trip. His conversation that Friday afternoon was more focused on the gambling he planned to do, than on his careful attention to finishing the basic plumbing work he'd promised to complete several weeks earlier. The contractor and my business partner were out of town already, so I was alone when I decided it might be wise to drive over after Dan left for Vegas and check out the construction site. To my horror, I discovered a disastrous mess which, had it not been discovered w/in a few hours, would have resulted in my well pump burning up; a very costly expense. Because of Dan's rush to turn the well pump back on, ALL the existing plumbing (going from the well to new interior plumbing), burst under the sudden water pressure. My 2,500 gal. water storage tank was empty and the pump was working beyond it's limit trying to pull water up from the well into the constantly emptying tank. The house foundation, the 50' long driveway and much of the exterior grounds were flooded with water! It goes without saying, I fired Dan on the spot. Fortunately, I was also able to quickly find an excellent, very reliable company (Zeek's Plumbing) to come out after hours and start repairing this fiasco as well as several additional problems which surfaced from Dan's irresponsible work. It's been 3+ yrs since I endured this horrible incident with Folkrod/Agape Plumbing. Ever since, I've used and refer to anyone wanting efficient, honest, reasonable AND reliable plumbing work done, to Zeek's Plumbing!
