Then we called Justin Plumbing, and the experience was completely different. Their consultation was free, and Justin and his crew found the leak almost immediately. They clearly explained the problem, walked us through all of our repair options, and showed us exactly what needed to be done. The repair was extensive, requiring concrete to be cut and removed before fixing the broken main water line, but they handled everything efficiently and professionally. To top it off, their quote was nearly half the price of the first company, and they completed the work much faster than we expected. Throughout the entire process, Justin and his team were honest, knowledgeable, responsive, and incredibly professional. As a fellow service contractor, I completely understand the added cost of providing after-hours service. Technicians deserve to be compensated for leaving their families and responding outside normal business hours. That said, I felt $499 on top of a $199 after-hours fee for turning a valve was more than excessive. I called the owner directly hoping we could have a contractor to contractor conversation about the charge, but he was unwilling to make any adjustment. We paid for the service and take responsibility for why the plumber was needed.
