Super cute park. Any walking levels can do these paved trails, bike friendly, has a bathroom, kids playground, water fountains, lake with pavilion which usually has turtles and fish swimming around in plain view. Great for fall foliage- this is our go to park. I've also seen people throw birthday parties at the pavilion.

One of my favorite parks (minus the need for more parking). There is a large covered playground area, large lake (no fishing), picnic tables, lots of benches, clean restrooms, and lots of paved trails in the sun & shade. I see a lot of photographers out there doing family & graduation pictures. Lots of beautiful backdrops. Perfect to walk your dogs. They have a few poop bag stations.

Although the playground isn't the most exciting, this is a BEAUTIFUL park. Great trail, pretty lake, and lot's of green space. A pavilion located right next to the parking lot and next to the play ground. There is an overlook to enjoy the lake and you can see fish and lil turtles. A cute Japanese garden with chairs and tables. Cute lil stone bordered creek for children to enjoy. You'll often find ppl having picnics or getting a photo shoot.

What a great Park to come and play with the family on a beautiful Sunday. I've been to this park before with my church group and have discovered that this is a park nearby my house so it makes it a great destination on Sundays or on days off with family. There is a great walking trail and the play park for the kids is excellent equipped with a nice jungle gym and soft turf so that kids can run and play without worrying of scraping their knees. We will be returning here often but just note that it can get pretty busy as it is a popular destination for families and people who like to go to the park. Five Yelp Stars and well deservedly so. It's a nice short walk around a beautiful lake. There is a large gazebo area where you can stay in the shade and see all the fish and turtles in the lake. We had our wedding and engagement photos take here and they were beautiful! There are some picnic tables in front of the playground area near the parking lot.

What a great park, lots of paved trails for walking your dog, jogging or biking. Beautiful lake with Koy fish and geese . Bring your ping-pong paddles and ball for a game of ping-pong by the lake. Huge shaded playground for the kiddos. Bathrooms and treasures to be found along the path. Don't worry about getting tired along the way they're pretty good about having benches to rest on.

We love coming here. It has a really nice and short 1.2 mile trail with smaller loops within the trail. It's kid friendly and dog friendly. There is a playground by the parking lot and lots of benches and places to hang out throughout the park. They started The Kindness Rocks Project, and I hope it sticks around!

Such a cute park! We came here to walk our dogs on the paved trail that circles around the lake. It's ~ 1 mile loop and has some parts that go through a shaded tree area, but the majority of the trail has a nice view of the water. There are benches scattered along the trail, so you can have a seat if you need to rest. There's a fountain in the middle of the water and a wooden pavilion that you can walk out to on the water. We even saw a few fish and turtles in this area! (No fishing allowed here, though!) We came on Memorial Day, so it was probably more crowded than it usually is, but still not bad. Parking was easy to find, and there's a bathroom close by the parking lot. You'll also see a playground for the kids right by the parking lot/beginning of the trail.

Forget the treadmill and come here. This small, but picturesque park is a charmer. The park first opened in 2008 and is located just a few miles from Suwanee Town Center. Parking is pain-free and the 1.2 mile trail forms a loop so you cannot get lost. There's a 7-acre lake, pretty fountain at the heart of the park, and numerous areas that are backdrop worthy for your family photo. This is an ideal location for me to bring my parents for a walk given the beautiful views, easy and flat walking trail and options for sitting to soak in the surroundings. Now that fall is here, you can't beat the color on the trees and the sound of the crisp leaves with every step you take.

Such a great park to take photos! I had no idea Sims Lake park existed, but Sims keeps on showing why Gwinnett Parks are hard to beat. Taken from their website:. Sims Lake Park opened in 2008 and consists of over 60 acres, located at the intersection of Suwanee Dam and Tench Roads. The park includes its namesake 7-acre lake, a fenced in playground, open fields, and wide, paved trails. Features 62 acres 7-acre lake and stream system 1.2 mile trail playground picnic pavilion two 2-acre play meadows outdoor classroom restroom The trails are kept up very nicely, and you'll smile as you notice the meandering water pathways that interconnect and feed into the lake, with the fountain in the center of the lake. Truly a beautiful site. The trail meanders in and out and you'll come across a fork or two, but no worries! Just keep on walking and you'll find yourself back to where the fork was. Parking isn't huge, but it's more than enough if you get here early on a saturday (before noon for example). Also not huge is the park itself, which is tiny when you compare it to larger Gwinnett Parks, but Sims lake gets the job done with less, and sometimes not being a mega park isn't a bad thing. I actually saw no bikes on the trails today, but they're paved and wide enough to slip past walkers or runners with ease, but if you just want to sit and soak up the atmosphere, there's several well placed red tables/chairs to do that as well. I could go on and on about Sims Lake, but instead i'll just say if you find yourself close to Downtown Suwanee (not so far from Sims Lake), and you're up for a lazy stroll or a good workout, you gotta check this place out!

I gotta admit. Suwanee got some pretty awesome parks. I love it. I also love the fact that there's a trail that connects them!! Next time, I will check out the other parks. I chose Sims Lake Park because it looks gorgeous and got to take a friend with me in the morning who needed someone to push her to start her fitness lifestyle. It is an easy walk for newbies. It's beautiful and come early for the wonderful beautiful greenery. There were at least four photographers taking photos with their families there. That's how gorgeous it is there. The lake was sooo stunning, loved the mist that came from the lake, makes it look majestic! The trail at Sims Lake Park is roughly 1.5 miles. We did it twice and got a good 3 miles in our morning fitness. The park is much more beautiful in person. There is a small playground for kids. Definitely will come back!

A really cute and charming park! Has a marvelous lake, a paved trail, and a handful of beautiful art pieces. They have a really cool oriental themed rest area with benches and a pond with running water that flows downhill into the lake. It was fun to explore this park and see what kind of sculptures they have. Even the vegetation was unlike any park i've seen and that really makes the experience like no other. They're dog friendly so feel free to bring your pooch along! Parking is easy to find, but there's not a lot so be sure to come early on those beautiful days! There's also public restrooms and a playground for the kids. I will definitely have to come back another time.

Awesome place to take a nice walk with some pretty nice views. Or you can just simply relax on some of their many patio table sets. Great for children, adults, and pets. Worth coming back to. Also, the restrooms are surprisingly extremely clean.
