Nice people and all. But do they stand behind their work? I don't think so. A week after they did some work on my A/C, I called their office asking if they provide warranty on their service. I got a call back saying they'd call me again to see whether they can have someone come over Saturday or the following Monday. Well, never got the call again. Earlier this week, Sinclaire installed a new HVAC system in my home. The new HVAC appears to be working properly. In the process of installation, they did some soldering. They managed to place some of their hot soldering equipment on my wood floor and damage it in three spots and, in addition, drop some object on the floor and create a hole in the wood floor. They did not cover the floor properly, to the edges, with sufficiently protective covers. The installation took two days. I noticed upon arrival that they were not properly prepared to wear masks. On the first day, I repeatedly informed the workers, four or five times, that they are to wear a mask in my home at all times, due to Covid-19. In fact, this is a city ordinance. It's the law. Repeatedly, however, when I would depart, they would take their masks off and put it back on only when I returned. I saw that. They also came to the job with old, dirty, ill-fitting masks. I had to offer them masks. Sinclair was repeatedly informed about this throughout the day, by multiple Emails and phone calls. I thought that maybe things would be better on the second day. However, on the second day, two Sinclaire team members came to complete the installation. I noticed that again, one of them (his name was Rick and I actually think he is the owner of the company) would repeatedly take his mask off, and put it back on only when I would come by. I did not say anything anymore. I did not know what to do. After the installation, I called Sinclair and talked to their manager. I described what occurred. Her response was resistant to my complaint. When I expressed my discontent with the issue and explained what has happened, she tried to change the topic and asked me if I'm happy with the installation. She tried, subtly, to explain that it's a physically difficult job, in effect gently trying to justify the workers keeping their masks off. It is clear that this behavior is gently accepted by Sinclaire and clearly the workers and the company flout their responsibility to behave as instructed by the City of Pasadena ordinance, and by clear guidance by the homeowner. I am simply beside myself as to this behavior. If you value your health and would like to minimize your chances of acquiring the Covid-19 virus, I would look for another company to do the work. There are other companies that not only will do fine work but also respect you and your health, not to mention the health of their employees. read more

I was recommended to another company that is well known for AC installation. The other company said they would give me 3 quotes depending on the quality of the equipment, basically generic vs name brand. The "Generic" was $200 less than the "Top of the Line." I ALWAYS get a second opinion. I jumped online, and found Sinclair. *** I never mentioned the other quote... Rick came out, (cool Guy!!) and he left me with a quote. To my surprise, Rick's quote was WELL UNDER (I'M talking THOUSANDS!) the quote from the other AC company! AND FOR THE EXACT SAME AIR CONDITIONING UNITS!! I could not believe it!!! WOW! I s all I can say about this company... called on a friday evening was told they cannot come out until Monday, which I understand was told that they would call me Monday morning to schedule a time... guess what... No call! so I called them back on monday they said they would call me back and let me know when they could come out... 4 hours later no call!!! Call them back again and now all of a sudden I am the next on the list for service and they say that they will call me with an ETA... wait until close to 5pm still NO CALL!!! Now they say they could not get a hold of my landlord for approval!!! So I give them the benefit of the doubt and trust them to call me the next day... guess what NO CALL!!! I call my landlord and he said that he gave approval in the morning guess who never called me?? Sinclair Air!!! I called them and they proceed to call me a liar and say that they called me and I didn't answer... Okay, because I want to sit in 1 97 degree house for the 5th day in a row right??? Then when I told them I will be yelping them the lady just got ruder!! I will NEVER use this company again!!! This is the place to go for all heating and AC needs, you can't go wrong!! From my initial call I could tell this was the right company to do business with (No sub-contractors here). Very friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. I went into the store and met with Rick (owner) to choose a new unit. He didn't try and oversell me, but instead let me know what was best for my house based on square footage. He is very knowledgeable in all aspects and able to answer any questions. He was always available throughout the whole process or any member of his crew was also able to answer questions. His crew (again no sub-contractors here thank god) are a reflection of Rick, they are all very knowledgeable and do very good work and will take the time to explain questions if you have one. I couldn't believe how fast they were able to complete the installation of a 4 ton unit within 3-4hours! Very fast and clean. Sinclair also works with the HERO program (I used it) which is very helpful if you can't afford to pay for a new unit upfront. We were referred to Sinclair. When we called on a Tuesday we were told they could not come out until Friday and will call us on Thursday to confirm the time. No call received so I called them AGAIN Friday morning. We were then told they were too busy, but will have a tech come out Saturday and call us back, well again no call back. My third call was on Saturday morning. I was told they called us. I explained because I never received a specific time I didn't know what time they were coming, but someone would be home the rest of the day. We (4 times not calling us back) were willing to work with their schedule. I was told AGAIN they would call back, no call back . Finally hours later I was told now they can't come out at all today, too busy; not until the following Monday. Seriously, it took the company 4 days to tell me they cannot come to our home. Long story short, no follow up, lack of organization, and in desperate need of more technicians. I'm a fan of supporting small businesses and I understanding that it is hot, however this is NOT how you run a business. There are millions of other companies, go elsewhere people!! read more

A/C unit went out on Monday evening and though we are in mid October, as we all know weather this past week was still in the 90's!! Early Tuesday am called my A/C company that installed the unit and needed them to come out same day so house wouldn't become to hot. They weren't able to accomodate my needs for same day service, so I scheduled appt for the following day between 4-7pm. When I returned from work that afternoon, the house was a complete sauna and with a young daughter this wasn't gonna be comfortable for another day. I spoke with a few people and saw the reviews for Sinclair's, decided to give them a call. Rick was awesome, spoke with him around 3:30 on Tuesday, explained the situation and he didn't think it was anything major. Long story short, Alex from Sinclair's arrived by 4:30 and by 4:45 the A/C was pumping through the house. Alex was great, walked me through what was wrong, showed me that the filter needed to be replaced. Very appreciative on the fast and thorough service that they provided. Recently my air condition unit went out. It was the original unit for my house and I knew it was about time for it to be replaced, but I was hoping I could last another year. Through my daughter's recommendation I called Sinclair Air Systems. I called and talked to his wife who was so very kind and sincere. She told me that her husband, Rick would call me as soon as he could. The owner, Rick, couldn't have been nicer. He was very professional, kind and personable. After checking out the unit he gave me my options and informed me of the cost. I felt he was a very honest and conscientious person and based on my daughter's recommendation, that I was in good hands. He made arrangements for the new unit to be installed the next day. He and his crew arrived at exactly 8 a.m. and worked diligently until the job was completed. I could have never asked for more cordial and professional men who emulated the personality of their employer...this also applies to his receptionist. Honestly, if I could give this place zero stars I would. If you need service done on your AC or heater forget about it! They are super unorganized and will never call you back.
