The service was top rate! The menu has something for everyone! I had the spaghetti pie which is a house favorite. My husband had fish and chips. The spaghetti pie was amazing! It was obviously homemade. It had just the right ratio of cheese and sauce. The portion size was huge, and I was unable to finish it all because it is not proper for a lady to unbutton her slacks in public so she can eat more! Next time I will wear my stretchy pants! We went for dinner on New Year's eve. Turned out to be very unpleasant experience. The drinks took a long time to arrive. And the food took over 45 minutes. When I asked the waitress why the food was delayed, she just shrugged off and said, she did not know. Never apologized for the delay. No apology from the management. Horrible service. Food was just average. Seems the waitress was a bit racist. Can't believe it still exists in this part of the country. Approximately 10 years ago Sinclair's was one of our favorite restaurants but an odd smell caused us to leave one night before we were seated, and we never returned until a few days ago. The Honey Pecan Chicken was always my favorite and so nicely done, a perfect honey sauce with pecans tops a moist chicken breast. This meal comes with two sides. The salad is always a good side and the baked potato. The fries are not a good choice, but they are edible. I believe the place needs updating a bit but it is still nice. read more

Been going to Sinclairs with my friends since I turned 21 three years ago. The staff always feels welcoming and accommodating. The few food we tried for dinners and appetizers have always been phenomenal (sample platter, soup of the days, etc.). We also really like the fact that we can smoke inside instead of having to walk outside but I guess this would turn some people away from the place. Just small complaints would be that mixed drinks can get pretty hefty in price (I have had to pay up to $70+ just for myself) and when it gets packed the servers may take a while to get back to you with your drinks (but they are so nice!). The bands and singers who play live there are amazing. I have yet to hear somebody I did not want to listen to. However, the bar area not being very spacious, you won't get too much conversations through while the band is playing (which kind of sucks because one of my favorite things about sinclairs is how relatively quiet it is). read more

We were seated and a drink order taken but after waiting 15 minutes we had to flag down a different server to track them down. I was in this restaurant today and was very unimpressed by the entire experience. I came into the establishment based on the radio commercials I've been hearing but today's experience makes that commercial seem like a feign. I asked for a sample of the she-crab soup. This mixture of sweet and seafood was not to my liking, but I digress as maybe this is what it's supposed to taste like. For my entree I ordered the pepper-jack chicken sandwich. The presentation was not too bad, but the dish was just VERY subpar. The mixture of pepper-jack, mushrooms, and sauteed onions just produced a mixture of flavors that neither complimented or supported each other. One top of that, either the juices from the topping or the chicken itself had soaked into the bun so the bottom half of the bun was just a soggy mess. The chicken was dry and rather tough so it's hard for me to think it was the juices of the chicken that caused the bun to become so soggy so I can only assume it was the topping. The fries were sub-par as well. Very greasy and mostly an empty shell of their former selves. I couldn't even complete my meal. I had to do away with the bun and just eat the chicken with the topping and I couldn't finish the fries as they were so heavy with grease I couldn't pallet them. And to top off everything else, my waitress, while nice, seemed distracted and lost. I asked for a sweet tea with no lemon. When she refilled it she refilled it with un-sweet team. Then when she corrected it and brought me another glass of tea, she put a lemon in it. Then when I asked for a to-go tea she put a lemon in that too. I know a lemon in tea is a minor thing but it's little things like that that really make an establishment shine. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, maybe it was the wrong cook, the wrong day. I don't know. All I know is I was very unimpressed by my entire experience with this establishment and will most likely not patron here again. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! It's Terrible. Absolute trash. I ordered the Cajun pasta and it literally tasted like chicken Alfredo. No spices at all. I also ordered the seafood tomato stack which was supposed to consist of shrimp, crab, and scallops. There was only overcooked shrimp and the sauce tasted like school cafeteria slop. I ordered a loaded baked potato on the side. There was no cheese or bacon at all. I also ordered a brownie Sunday. They were out of fudge and the brownie honestly tasted like a box mix from Walmart. I was extremely upset because this was a take out order and I don't live close enough to go back and forth, so I was stuck with $80 worth of terrible food. Came here to enjoy some music on a Friday night and felt the pangs of hunger kick in - so, why not enjoy some food as well? Absolutely! First off, the restaurant is divided into two sections (smoking and non) and the smoking side has live music. The non-smoking side is the dining side to where you won't be bothered and can actually hear your conversations without the distraction of whatever's happening on the other side.( For the record, you can still eat on the smoking side too.) Sitting on the non-smoking side, I was treated to a small table and lay in wait for the server to approach. When the server arrived, I gleamed over the menu quickly, searching for an appetizer to try and the Kowaliga Bites were recommended. An order of a medium-rare Ribeye followed with baked potato and salad. Kowaliga bites were small bites of fish lightly breaded and fried with a side of tarter sauce -- and they were excellent, tender and succulent. I almost had a hard time stopping because I didn't want to fill up on them (it was a healthy order) and ruin my meal later. Salad was good, pretty standard on all accounts... but the steak made its award-winning appearance soon after and I wanted to have all the lights spotlighted on my plate -- it looked awesome! If there were music to accompany, it would have been the Star-Wars-Darth-Vader-Deathmarch because that steak wasn't going to stand a chance.... and it didn't. Meaty morsels of bliss, perfectly seasoned and cooked, were sliding into my stomach and my belly became full in no time at all. Were I not full of manners, I might have considered licking the plate. But that's frowned upon, or so I hear. All in all, the ambiance, service, and meal were great; the live music next door was awesome and I'll make a return trip back soon. You should go... We heard that this place was very popular so we gave it a try. Our first impression was shot when we walked in the door and blown away from the blast of cigarette smoke. Granted, the bar and dining room are separate but the separation is a interior wall that stops at the ceiling tiles. This does not prevent the smoke bleed over as the smoke travels thru the ceiling tiles into the dining area. On a good note the portion sizes were good and the service was okay. As for the food, the salad was good and my dinner of spaghetti pie would of been good also had it not been cold. I had to send it back for heating. They did however give me the meal at 50% off. This place was recommended by a friend stating, "...best steak in Montgomery!" So, I checked it out and ordered a medium rare ribeye steak. The first thing I noticed about my steak was I could've used a spoon to cut it due to how tender it was. The steak had so much flavor in it that I don't have to put additional seasoning/sauce. Decor is swanky and the menu is moderately sized; I ordered the blue cheese burger with onion rings, and while the sauce that came with it for the rings was pretty unique (kind of a sweet-tangy sauce) the rest of the meal was pretty normal. Also charged nearly 3 bucks for a pint sized glass of juice that was mostly ice anyway. We went for Valentine's Day and had a reservation. We had to wait in the very awkward and silent lobby for about 15 minutes. Our waitress was a nut! She kept making weird jokes and even sat in my booth next to me. Usually, I really wouldn't have cared, but I was on a date. The food was good. We each ordered the filet & lobster special. I thought we were supposed to get a complimentary glass of champagne with it? I think I will stick with lunch at Sinclair's and go somewhere more intimate for dinner dates in the future. read more

I have been to Sinclair's plenty of times! The place has a very old feel to it. The staff are like most restaurant places, friendly. None of their actions stuck out, positively or negatively. Most of the people who come here seem to be of the ages 50-60. It came to a surprise to me that younger people weren't coming here because I love it! My boyfriend and I love their onion rings. I love their fried chicken bites and fried fish bites(kowaliga bites). Price is not overly expensive, but it is not the cheapest either. Reasonable pricing. read more

We came in on a Sunday evening and sat on the dining side of the restaurant. (The bar and the dining side are separated by a glass wall because the bar side allows smoking inside.) There were only a few people in, but several more tables arrived while we were there. The appetizer was good; we had the artichoke dip. Served screaming hot with bread, it was definitely worth ordering. I got the chicken carbonara for my entree and had to send it back. It was terrible. Carbonara does not contain cheese. This dish had so much cheese on it that it looked like a pizza in a bowl. It was greasy, heavy, and inedible. It had obviously been placed under a heat lamp or in an oven to melt the bubbling tar pit of cheese it was served in, and the chicken, embedded in the surface of said cheese and crusted with entirely too much black pepper, had completely dried out. I sent it back and asked for a chicken caesar salad instead. The chicken on the salad wasn't dry, but it had no flavor. It was that cheap chicken that is injected with fluids and fillers and has no taste and spongy texture. The greens were fresh, but the caesar dressing obviously came out of a jar. My husband had a burger and onion rings and pronounced them "pretty ok." Our server was slouchy and unkempt in a stained, untucked shirt and baggy black jeans. He was uninterested in our food mishap and repeatedly walked away from tables (ours and others) before people were finished ordering. I can't recommend this place, and we won't go back. I am sure the bar side has a totally different atmosphere and different service, but smoking inside is an absolute NO in 2016. I don't even think that is legal in Alabama anymore. read more

Second thing, there was a guy standing outside, about 10 feet from the entry door, having a smoke break, I walk to the door and he manages to catch up to me and open the door for me. A few minutes later, he steps inside, notices the hostess on the telephone, and offers to take me to a table~!! okayyyyyyyyyy... After a few more minutes, he comes to my table and asks if I want a drink. During all of this, he's a bit on the LOUD side, his voice booming across the entire restaurant, so, when he repeats out loud my answers to his questions, the whole restaurant can hear... I was curious why he was so interested in me but so ridiculously casual, so I asked if he was the manager, is my server coming over?? I thought he was the manager, because what kind of SERVER would be standing outside the front door, smoking a cigarette in the middle of their shift--???? He said no, he'd be my server... Oh great, I thought... so much for a nice calm quiet enchanting evening... He was training someone, too, and she was meak and quiet and stood back and just watched... I hope she doesn't turn out to be so obnoxious, too. Throughout the entire evening, start to finish, he kept referring to me as "darlin' or buddy or sweetheart"- - DUDE I"M NOT YOUR SWEETHEART AND I AIN'T YOUR BUDDY EITHER. Southern charm works best when you're the receptionist, hostess, or 9 years old Girl Scout. I did not stop at your "Professional" establishment to be referred to as Sweetheart or Buddy. While he was asking me about my time in Montgomery, he had the balls to refer me to another Italian restaurant in town... really? Don't you have another Sinclair's that you'd think I might want to spend money in, as a sister-restaurant to yours, instead of sending me off to the competition? The meal was un-memorable, by the way. I had the sampler platter appetizer (which was actually good) and I had the Mediterranean Chicken, which was hardly Mediterranean at all. Was at a luncheon with a group of 46. They were well organized in table prep and in taking orders. Most orders came out in an orderly fashion and without confusion in matching everyone with their order. My wife and I were some of the last orders taken and were served next to last. With that me said, we expected to have fresh, hot food served. Cheeseburgers with fries and onion rings should not be difficult. I would have given two more stars for hot food and have been satisfied with a dry cheeseburger. That was not the case, warm French fries for me and warm onion rings for my wife does not cut it. Being on a schedule with the group, we did not send our food back, but can not recommend this for a return visit. We had to help setup the room. The food service was slow and my chicken was burnt tasting. Not recommended for large parties. Served 7 of 8 people in our party and at that time told the 8th person she was sorry but they didn't have what he had ordered. 7 dinners sitting on the table and 1 person had to reorder - question do the 7 let their food get cold and wait for the 8th (the courteous thing to do) or do the 7 go ahead and eat and make the 8th eat after the fact. He had to quickly order "something" that he didn't even want. Bad service. And to boot they added gratuity to all tickets - even the person who didn't get his meal with the rest. Food was average. We recently went to Sinclair's East on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I was a little worried that it would be extremely crowded but was surprised to find that our party of 7 was seated immediately and there were very few people in the dining room. The food was good as always however, our waitress was less than acceptable. First we had to order our drinks twice because she did not write the order down when she first ask; then when we ask what the soup of the day was and received a blank stare in return and she said "I don't know but I can go find out." When I ordered the Pizza Delmar, which is a specialty of the place, the waitress had to look at my menu because she did not know what sides came with it. Just a side salad and it has been on the menu like that for years. Everyone had to ask for refills on our drinks because she rarely came over to check on our table. The food took forever to come out. We were all starving by the time our food arrived. When we left the was only one other table of 2 people in the dining room. I may give this location one more shot, but the service has got to improve. read more

Sunday brunch ends at 2:30. We get there 2:15. Waitress only has 2 other tables and ignores us. Bus boy has to get us menus but he brings us the wrong ones. Waitress takes them and never gives us new ones. She spends her time engaging in small talk with her other two tables and then finally gets them to us at 2:35. At first she says we can no longer get brunch, but after pointing out we had been there for 20 min already, goes to the back and says we can if we put our order in fast. My 7 year old is having difficulty choosing bc they won't serve the kid's pasta dish he really wants until 4:30, so she runs to the back to get the adult orders and literally as soon as she leaves, my kid decides he wants brunch too, but she's missing for another 10 min. I track her down on the bar side of the place, just jabbing away with the guys drinking at their bar and tell her my kid wants brunch. She says its now too late for him and when she goes over to our table to see if he wants something else, brings the 7 year old to tears by telling him it's his fault that he can't get his second choice because "he" took too long.
