Want to give a big shout out to Sinful Treats because we've used them quite a few times over the years and they always come through. I still remember the very first order we placed. I had asked for a unicorn pull-apart cupcake cake before I feel like those were even really a thing yet, and she absolutely nailed it. It turned out adorable and honestly started our obsession with pull-apart cupcake cakes ever since. They're just so much easier for parties, especially with kids. Everyone can grab their own cupcake without the whole cake-cutting chaos, and I love that there are usually little mini cupcakes worked in as fillers for anyone who just wants a tiny sweet treat. Not only are the desserts cute, but everything we've ordered has always tasted fresh and delicious too, which matters just as much to me as how it looks. One thing I really appreciate is how creative they are with custom orders. I've gone in with ideas before and somehow they always make them come to life even better than I pictured. - I came across Olga's page on Instagram, and had a taste of her popular ube cookies once when grabbing coffee at 18 grams in Elk Grove where she was selling them at the time and fell in love with them. Being Filipino, ube is definitely a thing for me - I inquired with her over IG and was able to order a set amount for me wedding. But as COVID hit, numbers were changed here and there and I was able to keep in contact with her updating numbers and such over messaging. - The ube cookies were packaged so cute that the boxes were the first to go once the dessert bar was open up to our guests. Everyone enjoyed the cookies, and I was able to nibble off some from my sister who grabbed a bunch, and at the end of the night we didn't realized there was plenty more boxes underneath the table WHICH WE FORGOT TO TAKE HOME. My husband's not a cake or cupcake kind of guy so when I was shopping around for his birthday for different dessert ideas, I came across Sinful Treats and when I saw they had white chocolate macaroons I knew I had to order. The customer service was great! I called and left a voicemail and received a callback shortly after. We talked about the details and placed an order. I had a lot of different versions of macaroons from Asian and Filipino bakeries but they tend to be on the dry side. Even the chocolate dipped ones from Godiva. This one was different. They were moist and the white chocolate chips were crunchy. The chocolate covered strawberries were great too! Can't really go wrong with this dessert. Hi ! So I will give this place a review regarding the cake I ordered for my sons 5th. I was not thrilled to see or eat the cake:( I was disappointed in both appearance and taste. The design I had was volcano topped 3 tier cake with trees and river, where I was going to use my own dinosaur toys. the trees used were very cheap small plastic and very few. The volcano did not stand out at all it was wayy too tiny which made the cake not be thematic it was just a green and blue cake with no theme seemed like. Appearance aside I was disappointed in the cake itself it tasted stale dry and salty..I had a whole middle tier not eaten by anyone and had to throw it out. I wonder if the cake was made days before? I live less than a mile away from this bakery but haven't been there before. I've been to Wrap N Roll Sushi next door and I go to the dentist in the same plaza. After getting my teeth cleaned, I decided to go into Sinful Treats to see what they had to offer. The employee who helped me was incredibly nice and welcoming. They answered any questions I had because I couldn't decide on what to buy. I wanted to try the specialty desserts and the employee recommended food for the gods and white chocolate cranberry. I bought both for a total of $3.98. I have a huge sweet tooth so I was excited to try them. They were individually packaged with the ingredients listed. I couldn't wait until I got home so I opened the food for the gods in the parking lot and ate it in my car at 10:30am... It was moist, buttery, chewy, and not overly sweet. I thought about only eating half because they're well portioned but it was so tasty that I ate the entire bar! Then when I got home, I ate the white chocolate cranberry and it was similar to food for the gods in terms of the base ingredients, but the white chocolate and cranberry are a fantastic combo. If you live in Elk Grove, I highly recommend this bakery. They have various desserts so I can't wait to go back and try everything else they have to offer. They have a lunch menu too. I found out that they have a tasting party on the last Friday of each month so you can try some of their sweets for free and give them feedback! First plus: this bakery is just a two minute walk away from my place!! The owner is super nice and welcoming. I wish they were open on Sundays :( but I guess 6 out of 7 days will work for me. My favorites are the white chocolate cranberry & lemon cranberry bars, and my boyfriend loves the white chocolate macaroons. I also tried the pumpkin bars back in the fall, and those were delicious! Everything is fresh. I haven't tried the cakes or cupcakes yet but they look very yummy also. They serve lunch too but I don't see any menu posted, so if you're hungry you'll probably just have to ask the staff what they are serving that day. Their individual cheesecake cups are very good, as are the Chocolate Love Affair brownies (brownies with chocolate chips and white chocolate drizzle). Stopped by this joint briefly as boo and I were craving something sweet after eating lunch next door. Right away, I could say how great customer service is, as it was actually 20 min past their closing time and the owner was still very sweet about allowing us in and having us be able to select what was still available. We got the pumpkin croissant, the lemon-raspberry bar, and my favorite, food-for-the-gods. All were delicious, most especially the food-for-the-gods, which has a unique mix of flavors and a soft cakey/snack bar texture. The lemon-raspberry bar was also pretty yummy according to my bf. We've depended on Sinful Treats for surprises for our business clients for several years, and they are always wowed with the freshness and quality. Everyone there is a dedicated artisan. They come up with new items constantly, which is not so good for the waistline but satisfies that urge for a sweet fix. When you have bakery goods from Sinful Treats, you know no one else will have the same thing. Phasing out of retail into catering and online ordering is a great growth move for Sinful Treats. The location isn't always the busiest, and retail overhead is so high you see very few storefront bakeries surviving in the suburbs today. All you have to do is plan ahead a day or two and your order will be there for pickup. This allow them more time for production, and less time selling single items over the counter. We came here because we eating next door at wrap & sushi. (I did a review for them too!) But as always I have to have my dessert. So I wanted to check it out. Its a pretty big place for a dessert place. When you walk in there were round tables & chairs set up. I think they were having an employee district meeting. So I'm not sure if that is always like that or not. There was only one other person buying 2 things in front of me & it took a while for them to help me. But he did apologize for the wait. There were about 5 other workers behind the counter that were doing their thing decorating cupcakes & packaging cookies & treats but didnt seem too friendly by realizing there were customer by smiling. So when you walk in there's a glass container & a fake display of samples of the cookie sandwich or cupcake sundae & individual bags baked goods bars to choose from. I decided to try a coconut Bliss bar. Since it was the only thing that looked appetizing to me & an ice cream sandwich. The coconut Bliss was pretty good. I think that it can use a layer of chocolate chips to blend in w the cookie layer. And they should maybe toast the coconut on top for a little bit of a crunch & a little bit more flavor to it. But it was good. Kinda reminds me of a 7 layer bar. We also got The ice cream cookie sandwich which was OK. The chocolate chip cookies did not wow me or the hubby, we had better cookies else where. There was two tiny scoops of vanilla ice cream in the middle. But I did get $1.00 off for it. So it was worth the $2.00 bucks. So i was kinda happy I only paid $2.00 for it. The regular price is just too much. They also had a tiny tasting table that had some cake samples. A carrot cake & poppy seed cake. Both were very dry tasting. Not sure if it's because they've been sitting out all day or not. They also had some pink lemonade that was water down. They had a survey sheet to fill out. So that I hope they hear out their customer request. They got the 4 stars for the cleanliness, the discount day, & the coconut bliss. And the one guy at the register for apologizing. First let me say the customer service is exceptional after calling multiple bakeries for a specialty cake for my daughter's birthday with no luck I reached Sinful Treats. I was told they were also booked but since I was a repeat customer they would do my cake. The cake was exactly what I envisioned and my daughter loved it! All of the guests requested to know who did it. Now for the taste my daughter requested red velvet which was the bottom tier and marble on top. The cake was super moist and the red velvet tasted like a true cocoa cake not plain with a bunch of food coloring. The marble was also Delish and we didn't have much left. Called the place to see about ordering a fondant cake they said place an order online. So I did so and got no response. This place is in a pretty secluded area unless you live in the neighborhood directly behind it. I went here looking for fudge brownies and got what I came for. The inside has an interesting layout that seems to encourage a group outing. The brownies were not for me so I can only say that the person I gave them to loved them. They have interesting names that keep up with the theme of their place ("chocolate love affair" = brownie). They also have normal lunch items and I tried their chicken salad sandwich. I'm not sure what they put in it but it was one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I've ever had. Very disappointed because I went there twice on Tuesday and they were not open. I saw their hours posted and it said open from 8:30 to 4:30 on Tuesdays. Needed a pecan pie and a Birthday cake made but after reading these reviews I am glad that it didn't work out. I also sent them an email through their website inquiring about the Birthday cake but never heard back from them. I assume that they don't need Elk Grove customers anymore? Waste of time and fuel!
