We came for lunch and immediately noticed how packed it was. Once we were seated, patrons started to leave and we were able to order a sesame chicken lunch plate to share and cilantro chicken dumplings. Our food took quite a while to come out and it wasn't very warm. The sesame chicken was too sweet, rice was mushy, and noodles had no flavor. The dumplings were extremely dry and lacking cilantro. It did have carrots, though! So, if thats your thing you should try it. Overall, I am glad to have finally tried them out, but they're truly nothing to write home about. read more

The open kitchen brings a liveliness and wholesome feeling when you're there. You get to really see the preparation of your food. My food was decently. A bit oily on the deep fried shrimp, but the shrimp was HUGE! Very meaty! The siu mai was the star of the show for me as it was full of flavor and steamed to perfection. Tried this place out with my gf and it was pretty good! The dining area is small and limited, so you may not be able to get a seat if the place was busy. Ive been here twice and havent had to wait for a table. Ive sat at the big table and small table and you most likely struggle with space if you order more than 3 plates. Everything was tasty and the deluxe fried rice was especially delicious! We also got the siu mai and xiaolong bao. Siu mai was tasty but nothing special. Just exactly as I expected. Then of course, the xiaolong bao. It tasted good, but we've definitely had better. The xiaolong bao here doesn't contain as much broth as other places we have been to. It was still tasty and contained a decent amount of broth, but the skin was pretty thin and would sometimes break while we tried to pick up the xiaolong bao. The xiaolong bao also comes with its own dipping, but we don't prefer it because it is sort of sour. We prefer soy sauce and chili oil instead. My husband and I went to Hidden Dumpling House for dinner last weekend and had a nice time! It was my husband's second time here and my first, and we lucked out by getting the last table. I was happy to see that the restaurant was so busy! The menu had a lot of selections, but we decided to share an order of green beans, a dinner combo plate with general tsao chicken, and an order of XLB. While we were waiting for the food, more people came in to wait for tables while others placed to-go orders or picked up for food delivery. There was definitely steady business throughout our visit. The green beans and combo plate arrived pretty quickly. You can peer right into the kitchen and see (and smell) your food being cooked. After a while of waiting for our dumplings, we checked in with the waitress, who apologized after asking the cooks that they forgot to make the order. Timing-wise, it kind of worked out. We got to enjoy the green beans and combo plate and then the fresh steamed dumplings arrived at the end. We appreciated the portions and flavor of everything and I can see why business was so good. I was in the area running errands and decided to stop by because I hadn't had lunch and it was already after 3pm on a weekday. I walked in and the team immediately greeted me and asked if I was dining in or picking up. I opted to order takeout since I still had some meetings and had to get home. I ordered potstickers (8 for $9.99), XLB (8 for $14.99), General Tso's chicken ($14.59), and pork chow fun ($12.99 + $4 for pork). I paid $73.81 total after tax and tip. I hung out to wait for the food and it didn't take too long for it to be ready. They packed everything with care and I drove home to enjoy everything. I was so hungry that I ate the potstickers on the way home and they were crunchy, but definitely wanted sauce. I should have waited until I got home but I still enjoyed them fresh and hot. The XLB was delicious and still juicy after my drive home, these we enjoyed with the sauce and it's always a great flavor combination. The General Tso's I ordered was a large portion of just the entree (no rice) but had a great flavor and was really saucy. I ended up mixing the chicken with some of the chow fun noodles and that was a great combination. The chow fun was delicious, but I think I would go without the added pork next time, especially since I mixed some of the chicken with it. All this food was easily enough for two people to have multiple meals. The restaurant itself was cute and had coloring pages from customers on the walls. They have a pretty good menu and there were plenty of customers and to go orders, but no sweet and sour pork dishes, only chicken. This was a big disappointment to me, as that's what I came in for. Now I do want to mention the service was stellar and the restaurant was clean. Now for the food review-I didn't like it! The drink was pretty good, but way too sweet for me. The chow fun looked and tasted on the greasy side and the combination portion was little chopped up pieces. The noodles were thick, which is what I like. The pork bun was freshly made (3 large buns to an order) and was good but the filling was some type of a hand rolled pate. It did not taste good to me, nor did it even resemble a pork filling. I tried their sweet and sour sauce, which greatly improved the taste. I looked at other customers orders and they looked OK but a bit on the greasy side. Portion sizes are huge for the price. I note a lot of great reviews on this place and some not so great, mostly from Elite Reviewers. Maybe it's just me-give the place a try and see what you think. read more

However the spare ribs are fried with the bones and cartilage on them--which made eating it kind of difficult as multiple times I bit into bone thinking it was meat. The pan fried boa was a little dry but the presentation was good, and you can tell they did actually pan fried it, not like Journey To The dumpling which was like a tiny boa stuffed inside a small muffin tin and fried till the bottom was crispy. I will recommend this place and I will go back again because there's a few other dishes that I would like to try too. By the way, I just wish they offer the Chow Nin Gow and Shanghai thick noodle stir fry, those were typical Shanghai dishes in any dumpling places in China, but I noticed the people who operate this place were Cantonese and not Shanghainese, maybe that's the reason why. read more

We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Upon entering, we were given an estimated wait time of 10-15 minutes and waited outside. The interior was small with limited seating, and it was pretty busy when we arrived since every table was occupied. While we waited, we wrote down our names and party size and were given menus to look over, which was nice. Once seated, we immediately noticed how cute the interior was. There were adorable coloring pages displayed on the walls that added a fun and cozy touch. After looking over the menu, we ordered the Pork & Cabbage Dumplings, the Kung Pao Chicken, and the Chow Fun with BBQ Pork. The food took a little while to come out, and not all the dishes arrived at the same time, so we waiting until everything was served before eating. All of the dishes were delicious, but our favorite was definitely the Chow Fun. The noodles were perfectly chewy and packed with flavor. Our server checked on us frequently throughout the meal and made sure our waters were always refilled, which we appreciated. Something to note is that there's only one bathroom inside the restaurant, so be prepared for that if it's busy. Overall, we had a great experience here. But I like that it's light so you can make it as salty as you want. Deep Fried Scallion Pancake - Very crispy and highly recommend. It also comes with a dipping sauce for you to adjust the saltiness. It was a nice contrast to the other savory foods. Spicy Garlic Beans - These were actually seasoned very well and I enjoyed snacking on them throughout the meal. Garlic Noodles - This one was probably the most controversial dish for me. Why is it called garlic noodles when there's not a single piece of garlic in it? The location is on the smaller side, with a couple tables and only one big table in the back for a larger party. The tables are standard metal chairs with backing, can be uncomfortable to sit after awhile. Due to the open kitchen concept where you can watch the chefs hand make dumplings and wontons, it is very loud inside with the kitchen vent and cooking. They do play some pop music too, but not as loud compared to all the cooking noises. The service was standard, attentive and nice, quick to check in on me throughout the meal. I ordered the Pork Xiao Long Bao (8). The positive is it came hot and freshly steamed. The negatives are the container they came in was too small, the Baos were all touching and stuck together which made it so when you grabbed one, it would tear open either itself or the one it was touching so all the soup spilled out. Also, the flavor inside was a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, I'd give it a 2/5. I also ordered Spicy Garlic Green Bean and it was indeed spicy and very flavorful. The Green Beans were still crunchy, though I prefer them to be a bit charred. For my personal taste, I'd give a 4/5. The service was quick and checked in on me. I give the customer service 4/5. They have a single room bathroom in the back (pictured). Has a changing table and paper towels to dry your hands (no air dryer). Pretty standard and clean, 3/5 Overall, I give a 2.5/5. In a nutshell; Does seem a bit pricier than other similar themed places but the service and food are really good. Have been to this place twice , one a few years back and one just recently and I'd say they're still as good if not better than I remember. There's a lot of parking as it is situated in a lot with other businesses so there's parking around even in busy hours. It may be difficult to get a big party in the establishment as the most they have are 4 people tables and the place isn't all that big but I'm sure they will work and accommodate as best they can. Servers are great and kind. Food didn't take long at all. At the time there were drawings on the wall, maybe they had an event involving an art program with children or what not which gave a bit of a home-y feel to the place.
