You'll need to walk around the side of the building and ring the doorbell to get in, at which point you'll walk upstairs to a beautifully decorated, nautical themed sushi counter. I arrived with my mom about 10 minutes before our 7:30 pm reservation on a Saturday night, and we were the first ones there. The hostess/waitress was warm and welcoming. She gave us their drink menu which consisted of sake, beer and wine, along with flight options of wine and sake that pair with the Omakase menu. She let us sample two of them (generous pours) before we made our choice. If you're on the fence between a bottle or by the glass, highly recommend the bottle -- we ended up drinking more than we planned to since it went down so smoothly, and also, this 17-course meal calls for more than a couple glasses of sake. The vibe of this place was really friendly and approachable, moreso than other Omakase experiences I've had in the city. We started out with an appetizer featuring snowcrab and seaweed served with sesame oil, mirin, soy sauce and Dashi broth which was simple but refreshing. Our waitress supplied us with ample ginger throughout the experience to keep our palate cleansed as we moved through each course. As other people have mentioned, this isn't the most inventive or even fancy Omakase, so if you're here hoping for truffle, caviar, foie gras toppings or things set on fire and smoked, you might be a bit let down. But every piece of this sushi was fresh, melt in your mouth, and well seasoned. I actually appreciated being able to really taste and appreciate the fish rather than have the flavor be masked by overpowering ingredients. Courses ranged from different types of premium tuna to scallops, shrimp, snapper, mackerel, sea bream, tile fish, and fluke. My favorite was the wagyu and uni hand roll, which was delicious. Our sushi chef even gave us an uni "bump" to eat off our hands like caviar, which was amazing. I love uni so much. Highly, highly recommend this place if you're in town during summer. Super memorable dining experience, we even made friends. I'll be back next year!

We had an excellent lunch at Takkii Ramen!…read more We were NOT a fan of the ordering system which consisted of us choosing what we wanted on an Ipad, rather than placing our order with a server at our table. When we needed to omit our order to leave a couple items off the ramen, we had to go to the counter so they could edit it (edits are not available on the iPad). This was a very cold ambiance to what could be a more welcoming start to a visit. We ordered appetizers of vegetable gyoza and takoyaki, and a couple pork ramen soups. The food was absolutely delicious and they got our orders correct. I just felt like we didn't get to know our server since we didn't get to directly place our order with them, and they weren't too attentive throughout the visit. We would definitely return for their wonderful food, but I hope that by the time we come back, they have regular table service!

They put all of that into 1 bag. The mango crepe cake was on top of all the hot food, so by the time I got my take out, the mango crepe was quite warm. 4 food containers, it was overflowing out of that regular sized bag. Who wants warm cake? I don't even know why anybody would think that's acceptable. The teriyaki chicken over rice was proably the best out of all the items ordered. The ramens were very subpar. I wouldn't return.

The restaurant is huge and always busy. They have two levels, and while I prefer sitting upstairs, both spaces are great. This time, I tried their New England Clam Chowder for the first time, and it was phenomenal. There wasn't a grain of sand to be found, and it was absolutely loaded with meaty, perfectly cooked, tender clams. The flavor was unforgettable. It managed to be creamy without feeling heavy. You know when a chowder leaves a thick coating of cream in your mouth that lingers long after each bite? This wasn't like that at all, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad. I've seen it presented this way before, and while it does put a little more work on the diner, it's really not a big deal to use a fork and knife. The lettuce was crisp and cold, the dressing tasted homemade, and the crouton crumble was a game changer. I decided to add the seared blackened scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. The upcharge was a little more than I would have liked for the amount, but it was worth it. After all, who doesn't love a scallop straight from Montauk? That scallop traveled less to get to my plate than I did to get to Hampton Bays. The drinks were festive, the wine was cold, and the atmosphere was lively. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family and have a great time.
