I came in on a Tuesday afternoon, was seated immediately with a smile and I ordered probably a really great creamy udon. It was so flavourful and was so satisfying texturally. The fried onions add a crisp that constant the creaminess so perfectly. Highly recommend!

Good spot for a quick eat. Stopped by and got the original topokki with added cheese and the squid stick on the side. Toppoki was properly chewy-gummy, cheese was generous, soup sauce was tasty with a hint of sweet in the heat. Squid stick was a tad rubbery but had a good size. If you're interested in a no frills but filling quick bite, it's worth a try.

Came here for lunch with colleagues and put our name down on the waitlist. After 20 mins we received a call saying our table was ready. Orders are placed at the counter, and utensils/plates and water are all self-serve, street-food style. The dining area is small with only a few tables, but the space is super cute with hand-painted murals of their food, two TV screens - one showing Korean Mukbang and another with Kpop, and the speakers playing Kpop music. I love the dishes that the topokki is served on, as well as the little fryer baskets that the fried food come in. The carbonara topokki was yummy and cooked with onions and mushrooms, but was a little lacking in flavour compared to the rosé. I preferred the kick of the spicy ones and will definitely go back again. The kimbap was delicious, creamy, and super flavourful, especially when dipped into the sauce. The squid sticks were full pieces of squid and were nice and meaty (we had originally expected it to be mostly batter). This perfectly satisfied my street food cravings and I'm excited to come back for more!

I ordered the Rose and classic tteokbokki. The spice level was good, it was sweet and spicy. The restaurant is a little small but still nice to eat with friends . I wish the classic flavor came with a little bit more sauce, but it was still good. Would definitely try other things on the menu.

Sinjeon is honestly amazing and highly underrated! I can't believe there isn't more hype on TikTok for their food. It is located close to TMU and has very affordable options for Korean food. I have gone several times and tried a selection of their items and everything is truly delicious - but watch out! The spiciness is much higher than that of most Korean food places, so even Spicy Level 1 got my friends and I needing to scarf down some rice to calm our burning mouths. However, it's totally worth it. I would suggest the Rose Tteokbokki if you like spice but don't want to die. I also like to add sausage and wide vermicelli noodles, and getting the fried fish cake and fried glass noodle rolls are good choices as well. Make sure to get one of the rice bowls as well to help manage the spice - the creamy mayo really helps to balance out the meal and it's always so fun to mix it up! I have also tried the kimbap which is good, but I would prefer getting the rice bowl because it is almost the same toppings. Please give this place a try - it's the best!

Best tteokbokki place in Toronto hands down! Come here - you will not regret it! I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and everything here is great. Pros: + Very authentic tteokbokki make to order. Lots of different flavors too such as rose, curry, and carbonara. Spicy though! They use wheat rice cakes which I personally prefer. I recommend the rose flavor. + You can add different toppings! I recommend the sausage or noodles. + Great price! Around 10 - 13 dollars per bowl. There are also cash + takeout specials. + Gimbap and rice bowls are also really good. + Fast and friendly service! Cons: - Can get busy! - Limited seating inside.

Passed by this place a few times and finally tried. Food and service was great! Ordered a tokpokki combo which consists of a choice of tokpokki ( i chose original flavour) & fried fish cakes & 1 more choice of a fried item (got dumplings) & a choice of soft drink. Also ordered a creamy curry udon (delicious!!) and a kimbap ( i LOVE kimbap!). I really like how the food was made to order including the kimbap. Tokpokki texture was cooked perfectly. So everything was nice and hot. Staff was also very friendly. Definitely gotta try out this place if u like tokpokki!

The rose was perfectly rich and the kimbap was flavourful! I wish the rice cakes came with toppings without extra cost.

Amazing little spot for some quick Korean street food! I was craving tteokbokki one day and came across this place online. It definitely did not disappoint! The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and explained that we had to order at the cash ourselves before taking a seat. One thing I will say about this place is that the space is very small (only about 5-6 tables or so) so it can be difficult to find a seat if it's busy. The menu isn't very long and they have some food sets/combos you can conveniently choose from. My boyfriend and I ordered a set that came with two spicy rice cakes, kimbap of our choice, a basket of fried goodies, and two drinks. We got the curry tteokbokki and Sinjeon original, as well as the cheese kimbap. Rice cakes were SO SOFT. They were like little rice cake pillows. The curry flavour pretty mild and had a nice creaminess to it. The original teokkbokki isn't overly spicy (take that with a grain of salt because I love spice) and the cheese kimbap was amazing! Cheese pulls everywhere so you know everything was nice and fresh. Overall a 10/10 for food in my books if you're craving some good quality k-street food. 8/10 for location because it's a bit difficult to find parking and the restaurant space itself is small.

Nice way to spend a rainy day in the city! We went on a Saturday at around noon, and we were glad to see empty tables due to the weather. Even so, people were coming in and out, super homey. Food was super hearty and came out fast. The rosé rice cakes are pretty heavy due to the cream, but it's paired well with the slight kick (we got level 1). Rice cakes were super chewy, as well as the wide potato noodles. We added the fishcakes as well and there were so many, would definitely recommend. The spam mayo rice was so good, especially when mixed with the sauce. The seaweed rolls were a nice addition given the texture, but I don't think they were a must have. Definitely looking to visit again to maybe try the set with the fried food assortment.

‍Very popular korean food restaurant with hundreds of stores around the world , the one of the good location in Toronto is between Church & Granby Street. Sinjeon Original Tteokbokki add on cheese is the best choice, rice cake with cheese tastes fantastic! Sooooo yummy! And I selected level 2 spicy. Tuna Mayo Rice Bowl also recommended. Creamy Curry Udon is fully sauce and very creamy, it is better to select higher spicy, soooo delicious !

    Curry udon.

My friend took me here for the first time and the food was normal, but in the best way possible. Like "homey" food. It IS a small place though so the seating arrangement is a bit tight, but I've been to bigger places where the tables were placed even closer. So it's ok :)
