Lived in Seoul for three years, the food and experience is absolutely authentic. Decor is more gimmicky but absolutely wonderful experience, service, and quality of food!! Get the Cass beer, it was made for meals like this!

The food was amazing 10/10 but pricey! Service was great considering they were busy. And the ambiance was nice. I loved the whole experience of Korean bbq here, as it was very traditional. I came here with 14 people as a farewell work party. We reserved three tables that were side-to-side so we can all communicate collectively.

Went there a few times over the years but I recently went for my birthday and loved it so much I came back the next week. It is officially my favorite kbbq spot period. I had a reservation both times around 8 and the restaurant was packed and lively. We were seated in the patio the first time and the vibe was so wonderful we asked for the same spot again the week after. Highly recommend it if it's twilight and the sun isn't blazing. We got a mix of both pork and beef and noodle salad. Personally, I liked the pork better. The marinated version was really flavorful and I love that there is a soup that comes with the meal. It also comes with tonnes of side dishes; my favorite is the cheese corn, but everything is really good. Surprisingly though, the dish that made us go back two weeks in a row was the noodle salad. It pairs so well with the bbq meats that I don't think I'll ever go without ordering it when I go. So if you like tangy cold noodles with don't spice, I highly recommend it. To top it off, we had the best server and somehow got him both times. He is super friendly and offered to help us mix our noodle salads. He also made sure we always had enough side dishes and lettuce. I go through a lot of them because I like to loaded my lettuce wraps with a little of everything for every piece of meat I consume. But in conclusion, try the noodle salad if you like spicy and tangy flavours, and the patio is awesome when it's not sweltering hot out. Highly recommend.

This wasn't my first time here and I just keep coming back because the food is delicious and the experience never disappoints. Delicious offerings like corn cheese that you don't find everywhere but staples like acorn jelly, seaweed and spicy cucumbers are included standard and refilled on demand. This place is incredibly busy if you come right at rush hour so plan to sneak out of work early or be prepared to wait in line until you can be accommodated. Either option is really worth it because the food is consistently delicious and fresh and the service is top notch. The place has a proper Asian vibe with booths and Korean bbq woks on each table. It is up a flight of stairs a short walk from the Dundas ttc station.

Overall: C // 3 stars The meat quality at this kbbq seems high with the beautiful marbling, and tastes quite tender when we cook it. However, given that its not all you can eat, its a bit surprising to me that we have to cook the meat ourselves -- at this rate, its almost better to just buy meat at home and cook it there. There was nothing outstanding with the rest of the menu, banchan, service, or ambience so I just don't see it. Friend brought me to this place and the food was amazing! The banchan were fresh and nicely balanced, and the service fast and friendly. Interior is decorated well, feels authentic and cozy. Probably one of the best KBBQ spots in Toronto. Will be coming back for sure!

This place was great! I went with a group of friends and most of us had never done Korean bbq so the staff was super patient and helpful in suggesting the amounts we should pick and types of meats we should get! The ban Chan (side dishes) were just constantly coming and so there was just a lot of food the whole time, the meat selections were great and grilling was just a lot of fun! The location itself was pretty cool and styled to looked like an alleyway with signs and graft. Super cool and really interesting to look at! At the end of the night I was super full and the bill for 10 was really not that bad it broke down to like $35 USD a person which for what we got was more than reasonable! Would definitely come again

Probably the best Korean BBQ I have had so far in the Americas, which might mostly be because I don't have a lot of experience with it, but I thought everything was just so good! Among so many restaurants in Toronto, I believe that this is a very good one, especially since my friend, who is an expert in Korean food, took me here. Of course, we went with the famous table BBQ, and right off the bat I enjoyed the format of corn cheese, egg, garlic, and kimchi around the grill, as they would be heated up by the grill itself. And of course, complimentary dishes were always a plus, and I finished all of them. My friend and I picked boneless short rib beef and short plate beef, and both were amazing. We also had the green onion pancakes with seafood and the spicy soft tofu stew. I don't know what else to say other than that they tasted as good as I imagined it to be, because as long as they were authentic, they would be 5 stars in mind, and that fortunately did happen. My apologies for not being more descriptive. If you know what I mean, you know. Of course, we waited for a bit before we could be seated, and the line extended on the staircase, and that was how popular they were. Highly recommended!

The ambiance was great. It was upstairs and had a nice roomy feel to it. Service was great. Server gave us good recommendations, interacted with us in a friendly way, and constant check ins to make sure we were good. The food felt high quality and properly seasoned, was very tasty. Would recommend and go there again.

I have never been to this Daldongnae location until today, and I forgot how good it was. We went for lunch time so it was much emptier than I am used to. There were plenty of tables and I actually enjoyed the experience a bit more because it was less hectic and the ventilation was better as a result. With four people, we ordered four cuts of meat and the spicy squid salad. With two drinks and a bottle of soju, our total came out to $190- really fair! I do think DDN becomes much better value with a group of four or more. Each cut of meat was delicious and I actually appreciated how filling it was without being stuffed due to the a la carte ordering. The spicy squid salad was also a hit - the portion was amazing for the price. There wasn't too much squid but the salad itself was huge. The service was good, but slow at times considering there were only a few tables. My colleague waited over 10 mins for a replacement spoon after she dropped hers. The service did get better through the meal. Overall, loved the food and would visit this location again.

We decided to have Korean BBQ for dinner during our stay in Toronto, and this place did not disappoint. But make sure to make reservations and plan accordingly if you want to look for street parking. We were lucky enough to find a metered parking spot next to a local university. I ordered the pork belly (regular & thin sliced), beef boneless short rib, beef short plate (similar to bulgogi but w/o the marinate) recommended by our server and the wagyu rib eye roll plus a few bowls of Korean purple rice for us to share. We also got some banchan, lettuce, Korean corn cheese, steamed eggs, kimchi, spicy soup, and sauces, which were included. All the food tasted like authentic Korean style, and the service was excellent. However, portions could be bigger with a white rice option, and the dipping sauce for the meats wasn't that good. Highly recommend getting the wagyu items. The corn and eggs around the grill were really delicious. Pricing was in line with the service and food quality. Worth trying.

Completely worthy of the hype! This Korean BBQ spot is a great place to meet with friends. You order a set and it comes with multiple side dishes including corn, egg, marinated cucumber, kimchi, seaweed, soup, lettuce. I had the vegan set which comes with many different vegetables, beyond meat sausage, and tofu for grilling. It made me feel actually somewhat healthy as there were many vegetables. There are also many meat options to choose from. The side dishes are very tasty, my favourite was the corn. The environment here is fast paced and bustling. The servers are very hard working, constantly running back and forth. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here, so much so I came back the very next day. Prices are more than reasonable. Vegan set was $19.99 and most meat sets are $20-30.

Korean Table BBQ (side dishes: acorn jelly, spicy bean sprouts, spicy cucumber, seaweed, pumpkin potato salad) and soybean stew.

I've tried the North York location in the past, but this is the first time trying the Yonge/Dundas location. We showed up on a Saturday night as a party of 2 and were put on a waitlist with an estimated wait time of 20-30 mins; however, we were seated only 6 mins later which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the boneless short rib (highly recommended) and the beef ribeye steak as our meats. The table BBQ includes 5 side dishes with unlimited refills (acorn jelly, spicy bean sprouts, spicy cucumber salad, seaweed with hot sauce, and pumpkin salad), a complimentary soybean stew, and free refills on corn cheese and steamed egg (heated on the sides of the grill). Lettuce also came on the side to make wraps with the meat. The dipping sauce was a delicious house-made sweet soy with marinated thinly-sliced onions. The stew was extremely flavourful and a bit spicy. My favourite cut of meat was the short rib due to the marbling of the fat, but the rib eye was also meaty and delicious. You can choose to season/dress the meat after as you wish, with either salt & pepper in sesame oil, soy sauce, or sweet & spicy ssamjang paste. The interior is unique and resembles an old-sweet Korean restaurant or Asian night market scene with the wooden ceilings, seats and booths. The staff were friendly throughout the night and the set-up came fast. Would definitely come again!

They gave us the table directly in front of the counter where the cashier stays, so I requested a different table which we then had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for. This is not at all a complaint as it was requested. The service was good but most of the servers didn't really speak English, which I guess is to be expected in Chinatown. I don't have any complaints about that. The food took about 10-15 minutes once ordered. We ordered the Grilled Squid, Grilled Oysters, Beef Ribs, Chicken Thigh Skewers, Bean Curd Rolls w/ Cilantro, Grilled Eggplant and Cauliflower. Pretty much everything was over flavoured and lots of MSG. The beef ribs were quite good. Not the best I've had but good. The chicken skewers were fine. The oysters tasted pretty decent but I only had a couple bites of one because I'm not a huge fan of oysters. The bean curd rolls were fine but they could have been better if they took the time to put just cilantro leaves in there not the whole stems, which made them take forever to chew. The grilled eggplant was good only because I love eggplant, there was waaay too much seasoning for the thin piece of eggplant. The cauliflower was my favourite but again, the seasoning should be toned down. The Grilled Squid we both took one bite of and could immediately tell it was either not fresh or not good quality so we didn't eat it. They removed it from the bill as requested which we appreciated. They had free self serve slushies which was a cute touch. Overall the staff and service was good but the food was below average, which was disappointing given the restaurant's rating.

First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! We walked into a lively, casual space that works especially well for groups, celebrations, or any meal where you want to take your time and enjoy the experience. The energy in the room is high, with the sound of grilling and conversation filling the space, and the table setup encourages a longer, more relaxed pace than a typical restaurant meal. The biggest highlight is the meat selection. The quality is consistently strong, with different cuts and marinades that give each plate its own flavor. The miso steak is one of the standout items, with a really good balance of savory, slightly sweet, and rich flavors. The marinated meats are where Gyubee really shines, coming seasoned well and developing a great char from grilling at the table. We worked through a range of options including kalbi, hanger steak, and sausage, mixing and matching as we went. The fun part is being able to control the cooking yourself, whether you prefer a lighter sear or a deeper grilled flavor, and the grill setup makes it easy to cook at your own pace. The sides and extras are also better than what we usually expect from an all you can eat BBQ spot. The sushi was surprisingly enjoyable, with smaller portions that made it easy to try different rolls without filling up too quickly. The bibimbap is another good addition, especially when paired with the grilled meats. Takoyaki and other sides helped break up the meal and added variety beyond just ordering meat after meat. The spread is broad enough that you can build a well rounded meal without feeling like you are stuck in a single category. Service was a strong part of the experience. Even with the restaurant being busy, the staff were attentive and checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. They kept the table moving, helped with ordering, and made the process feel smooth despite the constant flow of guests. The wait can be the biggest challenge, especially during dinner hours, but the service once seated helped make up for it. The staff also handled the high turnover of tables well, keeping the pace steady without making us feel rushed. Gyubee is one of those places where the experience is just as important as the food. The combination of grilling at the table, quality meats, good sides, and a fun group atmosphere makes it a great choice for a longer meal with friends or family. It is worth planning ahead for the wait because the meal itself delivers the kind of relaxed, interactive dining experience that makes you want to come back. The format encourages you to slow down, cook at your own pace, and enjoy the meal as a shared activity rather than just a quick dinner.

The problem is that no one bothered to notify me. No message in the app, no call -- nothing. I was simply left waiting for over an hour for an order they apparently already knew they couldn't fulfill. What made it worse was the attitude on the phone. The person I spoke with was rude and dismissive, with no apology or attempt to make the situation right. Now I'm told the refund could take up to 10 business days to return to my credit card.
