On top of that, the toppings were very skimpy: the salmon ones were just a few small cubes mixed with a lot of spicy mayo, an the scramble eggs ones...they were just scramble eggs. Flavor-wise, nothing really stood out either, aside from the tofu skin itself (which was premade) Honestly, I'm starting to question these yubuchobap spots in general. I had a similar experience at YUBU before in Toronto--also disappointing and way overpriced (I remember paying around $30 for five pieces). Not a lot of korean restaurants in Toronto offer this pork soup dish. My husband ordered the soondubu as well and both dishes came with 6 side dishes and some purple rice. The side dishes were nothing special - your typical kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed, fishcakes and radish. A side dish I don't normally see was the macaroni salad. Both dishes came in a stone bowl to maintain a good piping hot temperature of the soup. They also provided me with some seasoning salt to adjust the broth saltiness to my liking. My pork soup was very comforting and tasty! Not as good compared to the one we had in Busan, South Korea but it still hit the spot on a rainy day. I do wish the pork slices were bigger and felt like they gave majority of the scraps into my bowl. The slices were very small, unless that is how it's served at this restaurant. I've never had this dish with small pieces of pork, it was always a good bite size so I was disappointed. My husband's soondubu was delicious and flavourful. You can never go wrong with this dish! It was filled with seafood and pairs perfectly with the purple rice. The pricing is decent and we may come back again to try other dishes from the menu.

I could certainly taste the nutty oil that always makes my taste buds sing, but would have liked more of the gochujong as there wasn't much heat to the egg. In fact, aside from the sesame oil these tasted like any other deviled egg. Swapping the bacon bits for chopped kimchi may give it that element it's missing and make the dish vegetarian-friendly to boot. Similarly, the kimchi was lost within the ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan mixture in the toasted kimchi ravioli ($13). Chances are any ingredient wouldn't be able to hold up against the swiggle of honey wasabi pesto piped on top of the crispy ravioli as the wasabi was so pungent and overpowering. Some reviewers rave about this dish, but I found the panko crust made it too dry and the pasta was overly chewy. It's not one I'd order again. The bulgogi sliders ($15) were good with a pile of thinly sliced sweet-soy marinated sirloin topped adorned with a perfectly cooked quail egg, which is runny so makes for a messy first bite. The sliders would be even better if there wasn't wasabi in the mayo (Té's chef certainly loves wasabi) and the buns were warm and toasted. If you really want to try the bulgogi I'd opt for one of the main dishes instead. Té's bi bim bap ($17) follows a traditional recipe where the beef is accompanied by cold sesame-marinated vegetables and a fried egg. They swap out the white rice for nuttier purple rice instead and Té's sweet chili sauce is thicker and spicier than other ones I've tried. Sadly, the bi bim bap wasn't presented in the typical hot stone bowl. That vessel is so important as it creates the crust on the bottom of the rice and the heat warms up the cold garnishes and sauce so that once everything is mixed together the flavours really melt and meld together. There's plenty of bulgogi on top of their mac and cheese ($18) and the pasta was excellent as well. I enjoyed the creamy gooey cheese sauce and the parmesan panko crisp on top adds a lovely textured crunch for those who want an extra pop of flavour. It was our first time trying jokbal (pork knuckle), so we were recommended by the staff to go with the Half & Half to get a bit of everything. We ordered the garlic jokbal and original bossam. The jokbal was super tender with a nice savoury, garlicky flavour, while the bossam (pork belly) was probably my favourite. It was thick-cut, yet really tender with a mild savoury taste that went so well with the wraps and banchan. The unlimited banchan and fresh wraps were a nice touch, and there were so many different combinations to try with the pork. We also got the DIY Seasoned Rice Balls, which were fun to put together and had a nice savoury flavour, along with the Seafood Pancake, which was crispy on the outside with a soft, savoury centre. Also want to mention the GENEROUS amount of seafood in the pancake, which I really appreciated and made the cost so worth it. The rose tteokbokki was creamy, slightly spicy, and had that comforting sweet-and-spicy flavour I love. Overall, everything was flavourful, fresh, and really satisfying. The Half & Half platter ($44) featured their original jokbal and our pick of garlic bossam. Both braised meats were soft with savory grilled flavor, while the jokbal skin had a gelatinous texture. Pork hock isn't exactly my preferred cuts but these had no gaminess; a slight disappointment was the chunky cuts instead of slices. The meal started with a salty bean sprout soup that helped to cleanse the palate. Lettuce wraps & garnishes such as kimchi, jalapeño, scallions were provided to balance out the meaty flavour. Seafood pancake ($24) was crisp and contained plenty of scallions and imitation crabmeat. For some fun, our party added several orders of DIY Seasoned Rice Balls ($12) which came with a variety of ingredients to mix using the provided plastic gloves. The tasty rice balls were easy to make with furikake, nori, mayo, sesame & tobiko. It was so easy even kids could make them. The interior became busy on our weekend visit, in a typical Korean restaurant atmosphere that felt authentic and welcoming. The staircase down to the basement washroom needs a clean and the utensils also required a replacement.
