Korean village restaurant was super cute and cozy with their nice decor and booths which have customers some privacy. We got the gan jajangmyun, the regular jajangmyun, dumplings, spicy chicken bibimbap, and the jjampong. Everything was so good but I'd say the gan jjang I got with beef was my favorite. It had little pieces of beef in it and the black bean sauce is created fresh for this dish. Noodles were also fresh and chewy and I love a fried egg! The only reason I would give this place 4 stars is because the servers would not check on us the whole time and the service button in our booth didn't seem to work. We had to walk to the front and ask them for utensils, napkins, more bonchon, etc each time.

Really homey Korean food. Definitely get their jajangmyeong - delicious. We ended up getting two bowls for a group of five. We also ordered the seafood pancake, pork bone soup, and tteokbokki. The soup and the tteokbokki weren't anything special but the seafood pancake was one of the best I've had, chewy and flavorful. Service was also extremely fast and waitress was attentive. Our group also had a few people visiting from out of town so the owner gave us ice cream on the house. His friendliness and hospitality makes me want to go back.

Highly recommend for the food and service! I came with my dodgeball crew after a game and the owner knew my friends by name - he was so kind and funny. We ordered gamjatang, fried dumplings, jajangmyun (black bean noodles), and more. They were very generous with the complimentary side dishes and refilled them before we even asked! Everything was high quality and fresh. They also have the option of 2 kimchi - a young one, and one that has been fermented longer. Homey vibe, great for casual dining, or with large groups

Was in Ktown craving Korean food and decided to come here based on the reviews. The kimchi jeon was crispy and had a good kimchi flavor throughout. The naengmyeon was okay. It wasn't bad, I just wasn't super impressed. The restaurant is okay. Very simple, large portion sizes. If you want something to satisfy your itch for Korean food, then this is a solid option.

Been coming here for years and I always have a great time. The food is always good and the restaurant is cozy inside. On a recent visit I got the kalbi tang, which was great especially on a cold day. I also tried the bulgogi dinner which was also very good. After we ordered we also got some side dishes. The staff are friendly especially the owner who's a super nice guy.

Great Korean restaurant. I've been here years ago and really enjoyed their table bbq. I came here recently and had the shrimp bibimbap. Unfortunately I found the rice a bit too sauce and did not have the crispiness you usually get with the stone pots. Great restaurant but stick to the kbbq!

This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience of my life. Korean Village Restaurant is a disgrace to Korean cuisine and food in general. The dishes are so tasteless and unappetizing, I genuinely can't fathom how anyone could stomach them, let alone enjoy them. To make matters worse, the portions are so pitifully small you'll leave feeling robbed--both of your money and your appetite. This place is an absolute embarrassment to the Toronto food scene, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Simply the worst food I've ever had.

My daughters and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Korean Village Restaurant for lunch today, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed with genuine warmth by Jason, the owner. His kindness and personal attention made our meal feel like we were guests in his home rather than customers in a restaurant. We were touched to learn that this gem was founded by his mother, Mrs. Lee, whose passion for authentic Korean cooking is the obvious heart and soul of the restaurant. You can truly taste the love and tradition in every bite. I ordered the beef stone bowl (bibimbap), and it was absolutely phenomenal--flavorful, beautifully presented, and sizzling hot. All of our meals were excellent! The textures, the seasoning, and the balance of ingredients were perfect. Honestly, it was the best Korean food we've ever had.

My boyfriend and I were walking in Koreatown on Saturday evening and decided to have dinner around there. We picked this restaurant as we saw a lot of people inside. As soon as we entered, there was a welcome sign to greet customers and a board to write your name and number of people. The staff referred to the board to call customers as the tables opened up. The decor reflected the name of the restaurant- it looked like going back in time to an old neighbohood. The place was packed and the crowd was forming inside and outside. We waited about 30 minutes, then our name was called by the staff. Our waiter was a young man who greeted us and brought water, utensils and side dishes. My boyfriend was so excited since this was his first time trying Korean food! It took a bit of time for us to decide as there was a lot on the menu. After, my boyfriend chose large size Kampungki (deep-fried chicken in sweet and spicy sauce) and ordered a small bowl of rice on the side. I picked Soondubu (soft tofu stew with assorted seafood and mixed vegetables with rice on the side). We enjoyed our meal- my boyfriend said the chicken pieces were yummy- the chicken pieces were crispy and sweet and spicy on the outside and juicy inside. The Soondubu was also good, I liked the spice level and there was good amount of seafood and vegetables with soft tofu). Our server was helpful and friendly, he brought us everything that we asked for (e.g. fork, extra napkins, more water, hot sauce). We had a fun time here for dinner. The menu has a variety of items, so you can't go wrong here! There's something for everyone!

I had previously walked past this restaurant so many times and finally went in for dinner today. I am so glad I did. As you walk in, you see photos of all the people of note who have visited for a meal along the wall and it's a very impressive! We were seated quickly and it wasn't busy being a Sunday night, but there were several tables still eating. We were served quickly and the owner even stopped by to make sure we were ordering the right amount of food and being taken care of. Our entrees and banchan arrived quickly and hot so we were eager to dig in. We had the soondubu and ddukbokki (I added the bulgogi and it was so delicious). The portions are hearty and the food has great flavour. You can tell everything is made with fresh, quality ingredients. We'll definitely be back to try more, as all the dishes we saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The highlight was most definitely the service. The owner, Jason, takes the time to get to know you, ensures you're enjoying your meal, and shares his love for his mom's cooking and keeping her spirit in everything they do. It was a really incredible dining experience and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

This spot hit the mark on all fronts! The food was tasty and generous in size, the service was kind and fast, and it was clean and and spacious inside. I have been wanting to try jajamyeon for so long, and finally found a place where they make it without pork. It was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back here again to try their other dishes :)

A long time staple in the Toronto community, I can't believe I did not visit Korean Village Restaurant until now! I can now see why many celebrities and locals enjoy this spot for humble and delicious Korean favourites! The overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming as soon as you walk inside with your group of friends! Me and my friends were welcomed warmly by the owner and his staff which shows their kindness as a family business. They have a few set items from stews to tabletop cooking for all tastes and preferences. The Seafood Pancake is crispy and has a decent amount of seafood to pair well with the soy and vinegar dipping sauce. The gamjatang has a generous amount of pork bones to broth ratio. The broth is rich and has the right amount of spice to enjoy for every spoonful! Overall, I can't wait for my next visit for the restaurant's food and hospitality!

The food & service was top notch! The owner is the best and gave us free dessert because we were from out of town.
