Dauphine Island Campground is a great place to camp. We stayed in the tent camping area in our…read morerooftop tent. There is a spot to have a fire and every site has picnic tables which is nice. The tent camping area is very wooded so there is plenty of shade which is nice. We stayed here in April and were surpised that there were SO MANY mosquitos! We did get eaten alive by them even having bug spray on. There was a walking trail right by our campsite to walk to the beach. We took full advantage of that. The beach was clean and peaceful right on the Gulf! The bathhouse was pretty new and so clean and nice! There are sinks and mirrors right outside the showers as well as sinks and mirrors right outside the toilets. The showers were clean, spacious, have a bench to put all of your things, the water was hot and the water pressure was great as well. When checking in the staff was very friendly and informative. The office has a small selection of "general" merchandise you might need to save you a trip into town to a store. They also have firewood for sale. Be sure to get wood when you get there because the staff is gone at 5 or 6 and you won't be able to get wood after that; we made that mistake. If you have kids, there is a playground for them to play on which excited our kids. It was close enough to the tent camping area that we were able to see them playing from our campsite. They do have bicycles for the kids to ride if they didn't bring their own. My daughter learned the hard way that the bike she chose didn't have breaks and she took a pretty hard crash! I definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area.

If you are in a camper you are probably fine from the noise but if you are in a tent good luck with sleep. Otherwise, this is a fantastic campground, cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground, great people staying there. As a solo female traveler this was the perfect spot for me to set up except no beach access and I was in a tent so got no sleep. Left after 1 night instead of 4 and while they told me it was nonrefundable they did not disclaim that the beach was closed or the noise.

We decided to stay outside of Louisiana where the majority of our work was and I found this gem on google. Called the number and Dusty answered. Saved us a pull through spot right up front and even helped us set up when we got there around 9pm. We stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed every second. It's off a back road with no street lights and that can be a bit unsettling to me but honestly, I stayed here by myself during the day and early evenings and didn't feel any type of way about it. People were always out, walking their dogs, kids riding bikes, so I felt pretty safe. Dusty was accessible whenever we needed something and drives through the park several times a day. There are full time residents that live at the park that are super friendly and always wave. My only advice is If you travel with dogs, be sure to keep them on a leash. Some residents let their dogs roam free and my pups don't do well with unleashed dogs approaching. The laundry facility is upstairs in the office building- 1 washer and 1 dryer. Dryer works exceptionally fast. There is a bathroom up there as well that looks to be well maintained and cleaned. We will definitely be back if we make it out to Pass Christian again!

They have long term lots and then a handful that they keep open for those passing through or just staying for the weekend. It feels like all the long term RVs are smashed together in clumps. I wish we were spread out a bit more. Some of the sites are much more desirable. If you have the opportunity, it would be nice to take a drive/walk around and choose your site before you park your RV. Assuming it's available. I don't know how they choose to divide up the lots. There are restroom and shower facilities located on the north side of the property, connected to the office and the lounge. Separated by gender. There is an access code to get into each door. The restrooms are cleaned every single night and they are always in great condition. That is definitely a plus! The showers in the women's room have almost zero water pressure and it's impossible to wash my hair in there. The men's showers have awesome water pressure. Sneak in there if you can find a way. Not that I have any experience doing that... There is a swimming pool that is also located next to the office. It's open all year and looks nice, though I haven't tried it out yet. There is a nice sized, fenced in, dog area located on the west side of the property. It's just a short walk from wherever you might be parked. There are dog bags and a trash receptacle inside for your convenience. Most people pick up after there pets, but there are always those special people who don't think they have to. If you can get with the program, this RV park makes it pretty easy for you. There are also two benches inside the dog park as well as a watering station for your pets. There isn't a separate area for small and big dogs, so make sure you are comfortable walking in if there is already someone there. Two large dumpsters are on the east side of the park and they are never full. I haven't heard a trash truck yet, but they are obviously emptying it very regularly. There are signs everywhere reminding you that you are expected to take your own trash to the dumpsters. The office staff is helpful and available every day from 9-5. If you have outgoing mail you can put it in the little basket at the front desk. You can also have mailed delivered to the park office and it's no problem. They hold it behind the desk for you to pick up. We've been here for several weeks so far and are enjoying our stay.

This year we stayed for our families July 4th reunion and had an excellent time until the new manger tried to charge us another $400 (on top of the $630). We were flabbergasted. Apparently their campsites are rated for only 2 adults & 2 children, and you pay so much extra per person, PER DAY. That would total $1000 for two campsites for 5 nights (yes, it was also a holiday). You can stay for the same amount of time at Paradise Ranch in Tylertown or Yogibear for less amount than that and they offer so much more for families. THANKFULLY, we were able to speak directly with the owners and had the issue resolved, but we definitely will not be back if this is what they charge, which is sad because the place is very nice and isn't crowded. We didn't have to worry about others running over our children with golf carts or loud parties. For the most part, the restrooms are clean, and the grounds are kept cut. I do appreciate the cameras they have around the park and the locked gate in the front. The boardwalk is a nice touch for sight seeing. Our friend stayed in the cabin and didn't have any complaints. Overall, as long as the prices aren't raised, we will return.
