I have been to this little Inglewood/East Nashville cafe multiple times for ice cream (which is the BEST to me) but I had never tried their coffee until today. The iced vanilla latte I got was super good, a bit TOO sweet for my liking (and I LOVE sweet coffee) but satisfied my craving. I definitely think it's a good spot for coffee if you aren't anywhere near a Starbucks or another great coffee joint. They have a drive thru as well a sitting area inside. Unpretentious & delicious My partner loves their cold brew and I love Mike's ice cream. We always find a reason to pile the dogs in the car and go through the drive-thru. The staff rule, the dogs are showered with affection, and we leave feeling uplifted. read more

my review is low only because - i don't know what they think matcha is, but it is not what i was looking for. they use some kind of liquid, my guess is a simple syrup matcha type thing? it was way too sweet, tasted like a fruity matcha-ish inspired candy. i couldn't even drink it. i asked for extra matcha when they gave me a tan colored drink, thinking maybe it just needed an extra scoop of green to balance it out but that made it even worse, too too sweet and tasted like artificial flavoring. if you like traditional matcha, do NOT come here for it. it was a waste of $7 and that was a huge bummer. i've heard the ice cream is amazing and won't count them out for coffee drinks in the future but had to spread the message for other matcha lovers. read more

I went to Sip Cafe for the first time this year to get a coffee, which theirs' is delicious, especially when you factor in their reasonable prices. But, as a high risk individual who doesn't get to see friends and family much, the consistency of seeing some of Sip's employees daily, who are so genuinely kind and engaging, is more than a plus. It's half the reason I go. It's the difference between a place like this and Starbucks. It's the reason I'll budget an extra $5 a day I could be saving at home. Thanks to all of their employees! This place is the first restaurant or coffee shop I've ever been to that charges 2 dollars extra for someone to not have ice put in their cold drinks. The cashier didn't even explain it or give me the option of still only getting the same amount of coffee just without the ice in it. She just up charged me two dollars and when I asked about it, she just shrugged her shoulders and said, "no ice, more liquid." I already thought this place had prices higher than the quality of their product would warrant, but they are the closest coffee place to where I live. Decent coffee. I thought it was a tad weak, but the flavor was decent. I wasn't a huge fan because I didn't get friendly vibes from the female cashier. I felt like a bother. That's my only complaint. Sips (we just call it Mike's because of the ice cream) is phenomenal! Such a cool local place that we keep going back to. I've had the coffee a few times, which is a staple, but we really go for the ice cream. They have amazing flavor choices (highly recommend the peanut butter cup). The staff is ALWAYS friendly, quick with your order, and seem to really enjoy their jobs. We use the drive thru to get ice cream and it's become one of our favorite Nashville spots. There is also some parking and a few outside tables. read more

The staff is always helpful, conversational and friendly. The coffee is great as well, I've tried multiple drinks and all have been equally tasty. This is the kind of local place you want to support. This is a good way to get Mike's Ice Cream without messing with parking, walking and waiting in the downtown lines. They have basically the same assortment of flavors that the downtown shop has with none of the fuss. Mikes is probably my favorite ice cream in town, so naturally I liked this place. Also it's open late on weekends if you want an after dinner treat. The inside is diner-like and comfortable. Staff was friendly. They also have their own coffee style drinks, which I have never had, but they all sounded pretty appealing. I was trying to stay away from caffeine at 9 on a Saturday night. Sip cafe is no nonsense hard ice cream with lots of creaminess and flavors generally of a "classic" variety. Building is a bit unique and funky being an old bank building, with the added bonus of being able to drive up to the taller window for drive-thru ice cream. Only reason this was a 4.5 was that they were out of bananas when I finally thought I had found a place to get an old-school banana split! read more

My wife went through the drive-through with our toddler this past week. He has some challenges that make it hard for him to regulate his emotions at times and was screaming in the backseat while my wife ordered. The guy working the drive-thru immediately became rude and obnoxious to my wife and then YELLED INTO THE CAR AT MY SON for him to be quiet. When my wife picked up her order, she tried to explain the situation and he continued to be rude and offered a lame "apology" that was mostly just unnecessary comments about my son screaming. I've called three times to speak with a manager or owner, and they have not returned my call. Like a lot of families in East Nashville, we have loved having a local coffeeshop with a drive-through. But after this display of unkindness, they've lost our business, and they'll lose a lot more if this is how they treat families. read more

Seattlite here, this is good coffee. Locally roasted beans means the brewed coffee tastes fresh and flavorful. Tastes like a medium roast, smooth and not much bite but pleasant. Americano was good and the pastries are made in-house. Good croissants with a crunch and good flavor. The decor is a bit drab but I don't really care when the quality is good.
